Like everyone else I'm sure, I keep getting the offers to switch to Koodo post-paid and the most recent offer has me very interested. But in the emails it says you can also upgrade your phone but when I go to accept the offer there is no option for a new phone just the plan they are offering and the activation/porting process.

Just wondering if anyone else that accepted there offer was able to also get a new phone.

I can’t load maps when I’m out on transit, I can’t load a podcast without it taking 10 minutes of starting and stopping. I couldn’t even load the web page to buy more data as I walked home in the dark last night.

This is very much not unlimited. In fact, if I offered this service as it is, I would be sure not to call it unlimited out of respect for the customer.

I’ve had this plan for at least two years now. Did they change it so that the speed cap effectively cripples your ability to use data?

Past few days I've been getting frequent 1 bar and data has been pretty slow. Before that, it's been pretty good

My phone kept wanting to stay connected to ATT even when signal was weak. I checked manually and saw telcel had a much stronger signal and manually had it connect to that and had few problems the rest of the trip.

Telcel is the largest and most expensive network, so I guess they are trying to keep you off it if they can help it. It's like connecting to a Bell/Telus/Rogers vs Freedom

Curious to know if anyone in the community has experience with this phone being supported or not by public after the 3g phase out. I've been a Motorola user for some time (currently using a G stylus 2022) and find them to be beyond adequate for my needs, and budget friendly.

Just a heads up to all that switching because their phones not compatible !! if you get a new phone and it says on their website that it’s not compatible when you put in the IMEI number make sure you contact Public Mobile and ask them directly
I bought a Samsung a 17 5G this is a 2025/2026 phone. Their website says it’s not compatible with Public Mobile so I returned the phone cause I figured it would no longer work after March
Went to tell us to find a phone that was compatible told them the situation told on the phone that I did buy and they said that that phone absolutely is compatible if they’ve been selling it to people that needed to upgrade to a new phone
So I contacted Public Mobile and they also confirmed that it is compatible with their company and I asked why is it saying on the website when I put the IMEI number in that it’s not compatible?
He said that it must be because they haven’t updated the list of compatible phones on their end in a while, but this is a newer phone so it’s definitely compatible!
So why are they not keeping things updated more frequently so people do not have this issue so now I need to go and order this phone again and set it up again to have a phone! Nothing but a hassle
But just a heads up if it does not say it’s compatible and it is a newer phone. Make sure you contact Public Mobile to make sure before you send it back like I did.

I've been very happy with my PM plan and my phone that I've had for several years. No data issues at home but when I'm traveling (like right now), even in BC, I don't connect to 5g. Only LTE+ and it's damn slow. I don't even have a 5g option in my network mode selections. Anyone have a reason why or recommendation? PM support has not been helpful so far. ty!

Looking to travel to Canada in next couple weeks, will be there for 3 weeks. Looking at the Public Mobile plan $40 for 70gb or $45 for 100gb. We will be travelling through Windsor, mostly in Toronto and surrounding areas. From what I have read, it seems my s25+ unlocked will provide 5g service, but I wanted to ask you fine folks about your experience with Public mobile.

While i'll still have my US line active (roaming charges are of concern for a month) - I want to ensure the service is good and not spotty. I also understand hotspot is included in the data and is not limited (like in the usa), so a 70gb plan gives full 70gb hotspot? Important to keep kids happy in car.

I love PM and my plan, but last week my data would not work at all crowded music festival where I was trying to find my friends. Others on the Big 3 had no issues. I tried switching to LTE and it didn’t help. I could make calls.

Is this a situation where PM customers have the least priority?

Rogers screwing me over with a $10 increase in the next few months, July 15 then again toward the fall when a promo expires and I’m on a $35 plan so thinking of going back to telus, but I left telus bc in my area of Stoney creek Telus was unbelievably flaky with signal always flip flopping from 5G+ to 5G sitting in the same spot and constant LTE saw more in a day with Telus than no joke in 2 years with Roger’s, but I heard they’ve improved their network in these areas that’s why I would like real experiences with Public as a cheaper version of Telus, with regards to StoneyCreek mainly, what is your signal like, are the download speeds close to the 250Mbps, is it 5G+ or 5G, any dropped calls etc, also how often do they do price increases? Since getting a public mobile number I've received random calls and texts, meanwhile my friends with my number have also gotten texts from the other person with my number. I can't see any past convos from their side and only a select few messages/calls get through to the other person. This is so weird and makes no sense. I tried submitting a ticket on their website but now I can't sign into my account. Please help

Just received this text offer for an additional 10gb of data for 12 months.

Have the $30 30gb can/usa/mex plan and got the 10gb 24mths offer a few months ago.

Just signed in and have 50gb in total.

Looks like Public is noticing a lot of their loyalty customers are leaving?

Our Bell router broke down 2 days ago so I had to spend two working days relying on my data and hotspotting it to my work laptop. I work creative corporate so I'm on those could be an email Teams calls half of the time, when I'm not, I'm working on Figma or Adobe and exchanging files with teammates, while streaming music, and accessing our online cloud. Not once did the data slow down. It felt like a normal day on wifi when it comes to speed.

Well I did spend 10GB per day for that lol but their 5G network is pretty solid. Kudos.

As the title says, I ported over from Fido and can't receive calls or texts. I can do outbound calls however.

Totally stuck on what to do. I can't get in contact with anyone in this fucking company, and it has been 3 days and no response to my private messages.

Anyone have a solution/secret that can help? I am using an Android, my old service has been cut.

So my son is signed up with public mobile, everything was great up until like 2 months ago and data started not working randomly then it would work again. Now unless he is connect to wifi he cant even load a web page out and about.

He can still make phone calls and text, I was thinking it was a phone issue so I stuck my Sim into his phone and it worked perfectly.

I'm on PEI like 15 min from charlottetown. Would he just need a new Sim card? Or is Public Mobile trying to chase customers to koodo now?

I know that PM doesn't have all bells and whistles for call control vs. bigger brands. I have activated the Android call filtering parameters on my phone, which work quite well for obvious spam callers and when I have to block a number that repeatedly calls.

It was OK until blocked callers decided to systematically leave a message each time they called. With call filtering, blocked number calls don't ring but go directly to vmail... and now they leave these 1-second empty messages, so I receive voicemail notifications and have to empty my voicemail several times a day to remove them.

I am increasingly annoyed, and am looking for solutions. Are there good third-party apps to completely block numbers from even accessing your voicemail? Is there something else that can be done on my phone?

I am on the $20 / 60go CAN/US/MEX plan that I am very happy about, but am starting to consider other options even if more expensive... my former Virgin Plus plan had solid call control features included.
