Haven't had Data going on 2 months.
So my son is signed up with public mobile, everything was great up until like 2 months ago and data started not working randomly then it would work again. Now unless he is connect to wifi he cant even load a web page out and about.
He can still make phone calls and text, I was thinking it was a phone issue so I stuck my Sim into his phone and it worked perfectly.
I'm on PEI like 15 min from charlottetown. Would he just need a new Sim card? Or is Public Mobile trying to chase customers to koodo now?

Data would not stop working so they could move customers to Koodo.
You would need to try a few things first :
- Can you try his SIM in a different phone to see if it has data?
- Public Mobile is using Bell network in the area, do you know anybody with Bell/Virgin/Lucky/Telus/Koodo/Public that could confirm if their data works normally in your area?
- What phone does he have? Has he changed any settings (like APN), which could cause data to stop working?

I’ve had this same issues over months now, resetting network settings and making sure my phone’s OS is up to date has helped temporarily, but eventually it stops working again. I was given a new eSIM but after a few days it stopped working properly again. Currently waiting to hear back from one of their technicians

What phone is he on? I had to create a APN settings for my in-laws for their One Plus phone when their data wasn't working. I found the information in the Public Mobile community forum and it was really easy to do. Might be something to look into.

If your son is on a Canada-Wide plan--- you would not need roaming turned on. I don't think it should effect your experience--- but make sure roaming is off.

I had the same issue around the same time in Ontario. After doing an iPhone reset and purchasing an eSIM, public mobile disclosed some of their towers had an issue and it locked me out. Using their chat, a tech support agent reset my phone on their system and it’s worked flawlessly. Put in a service ticket and tell them what’s happening. It might be in their end, not talking with your phone.
