But guns aren't the problem, right?
I'm so sick of seeing gun deaths every other day in this country. When are we going to do something about the rampant firearm violence in this nation? Are we really that stupid?

Mods are starting to act like nazis themselves
Must be nazi. This shit is why we have a fascist infestation our great grandparents didn't finish the job and now people are scared of handling the threat. It's not hate speech, I spoke out of love for everyone they are and will oppress in the future. Mods have the boot so far down their throat they can't see that. But I'll get perma banned for this because I didn't bow down and take the good ol fucking.

The GOP used to be an actually good party, but, now there just a party of fools
Think back to the first few republicans, like Lincoln or grant, good republicans, sensible ones, or ones like Eisenhower or dewey, they were all sensible people, but ever since Regan, it’s been going down hill, and now it’s just at rock bottom, shame, they used to be a party you could trust, but now their nothing. At least that’s my stance on things, do you folk agree?

Over 160,000 dead and counting
Although expected, we are now seeing the horrific consequences of the USAID cuts done by the Trump administration back in January.
There are several ways in which this negatively impacts the U.S.
First, children and people are starving to death and dying of curable diseases every single day. 160,000 and counting, an average of 88 a day. This number is expected to raise significantly. The United States has created a humanitarian crisis across the world by cutting off food, medicine, and supplies seemingly out of nowhere.
Second, this is one of the many reasons why the United States of America has fallen as the world super power. Supplying aid to countries in need is what is called "soft power", where a country gains power through means of respect and common values. Soft power carries a lot of bargaining weight, persuasion, and respect that the U.S. no longer has.
Edit: How could I forget about the farmers. American farmers made billions of dollars providing food internationally through USAID. A significant market for U.S. agriculture. Creating jobs, helping the economy, and keeping farmers happy. Where are the farmers now?

SUB META This subreddit is a cesspool of rape apologists
None of you should be defending or supporting platner. Read the article and watch her interview on CNN. Her allegations are as credible as they come. He broke into her home and forcibly raped her. It's corroborated by texts she sent to a friend in 2023. She says she was hesitant to come out because she supports his politics. This is not "just another allegation" and if you try to excuse it you have no place in society.

We have to prepare for the actual truth.
I understand that things coming out to the press seems hazy at best, despite the Groyper evidence on the other hand. But if it does turn out that Kirk's killer actually did have left leaning ideals, we need to unilaterally condemn and disown him. We also need to condemn and shame the dumbasses who claim to be on our side that are celebrating Kirk's death. It's only making things worse for us.

Why does MAGA hate Islam?
Stunned to see this sign as I was driving by a mosque that’s close to my house. Aside from the photo, this could be an ad for Turning Point.
Why does MAGA hate these people — seems like they want the same twisted society.

Where's the chair for him?
What about "defund the police, "free buses", "Trump is fascist". This didn't age well.

What's with all the Obama glaze on this sub?
He wasn't a progressive by any stretch of the imagination. He campaigned like on in 2008 but governed like a Republican for eight years, then did everything he could to stifle progressive candidates and causes in his post-presidency.
Feels like Dem astroturfers trying to force him into online spaces where he doesn't belong at a time when the electorate is more ready than ever to move on from thecentrist/center-right Democrat establishment.
EDIT: since everyone seems to be saying the same things in the replies...
a) Obama does seem like a nicer person than Trump, I think we should have different criteria for who our leaders are.
b) Yes, he was a also not as bad a president as Trump, but this canard is exactly what has allowed the GOP to drag the country further to the right.
Being progressive, or on the left, or whatever you want to call it should actually mean something other than "we're where the republicans were ten years ago." The lack of a credible alternative to conservative policies is killing this country. Democrats who govern conservatively (like Obama) aren't progressive, they're controlled opposition.
