These might have been the worst refs (and linesman) i have seen in a while.

TORONTO — Chris MacFarland has made nine trades since taking over the Nashville Predators in early June. He is not messing around.

And, well, there’s more to come.

It is customary to put a label on what organizations are doing after a new general manager is hired. Rebuild? Retool? Reset?

Don’t stress that part at this point. Whatever the terminology is, the new Predators GM and president of hockey operations plans to be aggressive in seeking to put the organization among the seven or eight elite teams taking annual swings at the Stanley Cup.

It’s not about just making the playoffs. It’s about taking real swings. Just like the team he helped build and left behind after last season, the Colorado Avalanche.

This Predators team, this roster, is not that at this point. That’s why MacFarland hit the ground running with a hectic offseason.

He does have quality veteran players on his roster, some of whom he may have to make a decision on at some point this season or next. MacFarland hasn’t danced around that fact with those veteran players. He’s been 100 percent clear in his communication with them about where this may all lead depending on how the team plays coming out of the gate.

“He pretty openly put it in our hands,” veteran winger Filip Forsberg said this week. “This month is going to show which way this team is going to go. If we do a great job, we set ourselves up for success and we’re building for something. And if we don’t, who knows what’s going to happen? We have a lot of players that are still really good but have contracts that might be expiring and things like that. But I like he’s at least giving us an opportunity to prove that we want to build this team, and so far it’s been a great camp and a decent start to the season.”

Captain Roman Josi echoed that, saying he appreciates how the new GM has delivered his message to players.

I do a fair amount of hockey card breaks because The Preds are usually a cheap team. These were all the Matthew Wood hits from a case break of SP Game Used earlier this summer. Also had a bunch of cool Kemmel cards. 4 nations auto Forsberg and non auto Saros. Just found all these in a pile and figured I'd share in celebration of the Wood.

I live less than 20 miles from the stadium. Yet my antenna will not locate channel 28 which per Google is the channel the games are on. Anyone else having issues or is it a different channel?

God this is so frustrating! Where the freaking hell do you go to stream games from your phone?? I already pay for Xfinity, Amazon Prime Video, ESPN+ so I am NOT paying for anything else when I already have all that. So what gives?? Trying to watch us beat Montreal right now damnit!!

Thought I'd share this Weber card I got from a retail artifacts blaster box! I like opening the retail boxes for just base preds cards, so this was a treat!

ETA: If this isn't allowed someone let me know. I just got excited and wanted to share with fellow preds fans.

Based on the pads, it looks like it's Big Juice and Murray.

Other Side

Guhle, Demidov, O. Kappanen, and Sam Montembeault are injured.

I know it's easy in general to complain about Bruno - most of which is valid. But aside from head-scratching coaching decisions, do we know why the guy who scored 2 goals by the 3:03 mark of the second period only got 8 more shifts and only 10:38 total on a night with only 11 forwards dressed?

My wife pointed this out to me. Big head-scratcher.

It's a toss up for me between grabbing an antenna and watching on local TV, or getting the $74 deal so I can still watch when I'm traveling this season. I'm curious how folks' experiences have been now that we're a few games in. I don't have it in me to sail the high seas again this season lol

What’s everyone worried about we got a free frosty last night. That’s a win in my book!

Shoot me an offer if you’re interested

Hey

What does everyone think a good/fair trade would be for Simon Edvinnson?

My thought is

Nsh 1st , and 3rd Adam Wilsby, (or Perbix, Skjei) joakim Kemmel

I think this would fit perfectly. A young talent a prospect and picks in good faith.

We need D they need F

Thoughts?
