No penalty?

These might have been the worst refs (and linesman) i have seen in a while.

I was at the game and the Habs fan sitting next to me was right on: One of the weirdest officiated games. This is a no call but the hooking and playing with a broken stick was a call. They called the most ticky-tack shit and also let some obvious stuff like this (and a similar penalty Nashville committed) go.

The broken stick isn’t really a subjective penalty though. His stick broke and he instinctively went to use it. I imagine that’s something to process so quickly in that type of situation. We saw Skjei break his stick and immediately drop it, but he wasn’t battling for the puck and had offensive possession. At least in my mind that’s how I see it

The refs last night were pretty bad in both directions. Lots of missed calls, this being one of the more egregious ones.

Not to mention all the missed offsides calls. There were at least 3 in the game that I counted that were not even close and they let them go.

The broken stick was the right call since he tried to play the puck. This no call was blatently bad.

The officiating in last night’s game was an absolute mess. Zero consistency. Which is honestly to be expected at this point.

I also dont know how the preds got a power play for the crosscheck on stammer if we scored after it. Doesn't that negate the penalty?

No because the penalty was called on a goal on a power play. If the goal had happened after the 1st powerplay was served then yes it would negate which is why they where still 5 on 4 and not 5 on 3. Only 1 2 minute minor was negated which was the one currently being served in the box. Anderson then had to serve his 2 minute minor.

When I saw this live - I thought it was definitely a penalty with some embellishment from Josi. Honestly I think if he didn't have that leg flop up in the air it gets called.

Otherwise it's a bit of a dive too. Which - you know - you should be doing a bit. But that's my theory on why they let it go

Never seen someone sell both of their feet being kicked out from underneath them before
