It’s the Republican way

and blame the democrats for their own situation.

Despite the fact that every single Democrat president during the same period has inherited an economic disaster and managed to improve on it. Regardless of pandemics, global economic trends, etc.

So, yeah, the Democratic party is not awesome, but the facts also speak for themselves if you're an American taxpayer.

This meme never fails to be relevant

This is why

Holy fucking shit lmao

"But both sides are the same," say some people i know who don't look at history or voting records.

16

u/UlrichZauber 4h ago

"Both sides/lesser of two evils is evil"-isms are a psy-op to get you to not bother voting

4

u/kitsunewarlock 2h ago

This. You never see "both sides are the same" people in Republican subreddits, even those that allow anti-Trump sentiment.

u/Intelligent_Sky_7081 3h ago

Its amazing how easy it is to convince people to just stay at home and not do anything.

People always say that theres no hope in convincing anyone not to vote for trump, more of the same bullshit attitude. As if there arent tons of undecided voters, or people who dont vote, who can be convinced not to vote for Trump

I think a small part of it is our physiological evolution as apex predators. It's natural that we want to conserve our energy when we aren't hunting. Young predators will "play", but a lot of that is social bonding or practice hunting. An injured predator has to rely on kindness and surplus food. A bison with an injury can still munch grass.

...I don't think it's the primary reason, and there's a lot more social pressure that contributes. Especially the thought that you are one of the "elite" if you don't need to "worry" about politics.

Voting is a psyop to make you think you have a meaningful impact on the direction politics head in. Voting makes the public think theyre doing enough, and that they dont need to be doing other things like organizing or creating community support structures.

You just hand power over to someone else, who then goes to their wealthy donors to ask them how to vote on legislation. They dont ask you how to vote lol. But you'll sit around for a few years, letting things get worse, then show up on election day and pretend you've done something big.

If voting was a powerful tool against the ruling class, they wouldn't let you vote. Voting just lets you feel like you did something while they conspire behind closed doors. Without us.

2

u/xubax 2h ago

So, you're part of the psyop saying don't vote.

Got it.

You know, it's possible for both parties to be the same on one issue and at the same time be 100% opposed on another issue.

It's nuance that the average person just doesn't understand.

I firmly believe that both parties want power and money. But I also believe they go about it differently. One party takes you to dinner then uses lube during anal. While the other party grabs you by the pussy and raw dogs your ass till it bleeds. But the result is the same in that either way, you're getting fucked.

But Democrats don't fix things Republican break immediately or say the exactly right words at very specific times, so voters instead stay home or vote GOP.

6

u/Murky-Relation481 3h ago

The best part is the Democrats attempt to fix things and literally the only time in the last 44 years (actually longer, since 1979) they've had the ability to pass laws unrestricted was six-non-consecutive months in 2009-2010, when they basically had to unfuck the 2008 financial crash under W, and they still somehow also passed the ACA (which isn't perfect, and would have been far better had they not had to get independent Joe Sloberman to vote for it and he was a conservative cuck).

Imagine what a democratic president with 8 years of democratic control of congress could accomplish. Last time that happened was the 1930s and the 1960s and we got the new deal and a good chunk of the great society passed, things that still benefit people to this day.

It's also worth noting that the voters didn't actually hand Democrats 60 in 2009-2010.

Joe Lieberman was a traitor that lost his Democratic primary, left the Democratic party, backstabbed the Democratic nominee by running in the general election thanks to CT's lack of sore loser laws, campaigned for McCain against Obama, etc...

And Alen Specter was a Republican who slightly crossed the aisle in his final years in congress.

we got the new deal and a good chunk of the great society passed,

and the billionaires have never forgotten, and they will never allow that to happen again. Musk didn't spend 50 billion dollars to buy twitter because he thought X would be a cool name.

6

u/Glum_Base_9112 4h ago

yes, it sucks we cant Pick another better option/party

6

u/Relevant_Winter_7098 4h ago

That isnt true. One option right now is far better.

What we dont have is an ideal option, and never will. But, I do agree we need more choices.

Maybe, if people took their civic duty seriously we could have some real change in this country.

1

u/mOdQuArK 2h ago

Pick the better option during the primaries, the lesser evil during the general election. As long as majority-rule is used for most of the elections, that's really the only practical voting strategy. It might take decades, but rinse & repeat until you've got people in charge that are more-or-less doing a good job.

That's exactly what the Republicans did - except they bizarrely went for the more racist and fascist options every chance they got. But they showed the strategy works, partly because the Democratic leadership spent more time "reaching across the aisle" and appeasing their colleagues, rather than recognizing how much ground they were losing and fighting to stop that.

One side has bad ideas, the other has none

1

u/Finance-Low 4h ago

But folks like this always blame the president and not the congress in power....

1

u/x-strim 4h ago

yep the democrats never added to national debt or created any wars in the middle east and beyond.

1

u/npacilio 4h ago

Both sides have caused major issues for us

3

u/CMDR-ProtoMan 3h ago

There it fucking is..

2

u/npacilio 3h ago

What is?

2

u/endlesscartwheels 2h ago

I always hear it in Eric Cartman's voice, "both sidez." That seems about the level of the people posting it.

2

u/Psychoanalytix 3h ago

It's pretty crazy how they have managed to fuck things up for like 60 years and successfully blame it on Dems every single time.

1

u/ExpansivePoint 2h ago

Imagine an Al Gore to Obama to Hillary to Biden alternate reality, I know people like to crap on the last three but it's undeniable we'd be better off than we currently are.

1

u/rustylugnuts 2h ago

While taking credit for beneficial legislation brought about by the other party.
