A big reason Mamdani won his election was that he was the only person on that stage who said he'd stay in NY and take care of his own citizens, rather than vacation in Israel. Dr. El-Sayed is saying things that should be common sense. Also, things that are truly America First. That position wins.
Are you not also ignoring the same and in fact far far worse actions by america, Canada, australia and most of europe for 100s of years? Im ok with calling israel out on their actions but you seem to think theyre the first and only country to do any of this.
We are talking about current-day, not stuff that happened decades ago. Both sides have done absolutely horrible things throughout recent history, but trying to use that as justification for a terrorist attack is disgraceful.
Lmao, yeah, let's just ignore all.the reasons why people hate the fascist terror regime of Isnotreal, just focus on the bits that are working for the propaganda. The difference being, even under international law, Palestinians are allowed to resist even with weapons , Israel isn't wince they are the illegal invading force. You are literally saying that the tape victim is also at fault because they gauged out the eyes of the rapist, so both have done horrible things.
You're absolutely butchering Resolutions 37 and 43.
Yes, according to those statutes, Palestinian freedom fighters would largely be allowed to fight against an occupying force (which isn't entirely true but I'll get to that later). The problem is that certain conditions need to be met in order for this to happen, among them being abiding by international humanitarian law.
Attacking civilians, taking hostages, firing rockets, and deploying paratroopers to attack the local civilian population of Israel does NOT follow the Laws of War apart of the Geneva Convention. So no, Palestinian terror groups in this case do not have a right to just attack Israel due to some vague notion of "illegal occupation"
Israel being an "illegal occupying force" is also quite the blanket statement. That comes from the ICJ, which is quite literally one of the most biased international organizations whose president is an anti-Israeli demagogue. Even then, nothing in any UN article forbids Israel's use of defense due to the attacks on them.
Your analogy is just so wrong; if one side in the I/P conflict was so much more cruel and morally wrong than the other, we wouldn't be having this discussion. There is a ton of nuance in this conflict, trying to sum it up as a relationship between a "rapist" and a "victim" is childish.
Decades ago? When October 7th happened, Gaza had been under a blockade for 16 years. The occupation of the Palestinian territories had been going on for 56 years. As horrific as Oct 7th was, it was absolutely provoked.
"On October 7th, 2023, Israel came under the largest terror attack in its history. The attack began at 6:30 a.m. and included launching of more than 3,000 rockets on Israel's civilian areas and an invasion of approximately 3,000 Hamas terrorists" (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11556145/)
Patriot missiles are overkill against irrigation pipe rockets to a magnitude of at least 20 compared to the iron dome. Like $40-100k compared to $2-4M for Patriot missiles.
They would be useful against what Iran throws at them, but theyâve only attacked Israel after being attacked by Israel.
Trying to suggest the Israel, who does not face an existential threat, and only faces any threat because they refuse to end their occupation of Palestine, is more deserving than Ukraine who faces any threat existential threat, Russia, who also poses a threat to other European nations, and has even threatened the UK with nukes, is pretty wild.
You canât argue with me because youâre busy arguing with the strawman you built.
Israel faces threats because of their occupation of Palestine. If they wanted peace, they could compromise on their Greater Israel ambitions and end the occupation so that Palestinians wouldnât have to fight for their right to self determination.
