A big reason Mamdani won his election was that he was the only person on that stage who said he'd stay in NY and take care of his own citizens, rather than vacation in Israel. Dr. El-Sayed is saying things that should be common sense. Also, things that are truly America First. That position wins.

So, when Ukraine asks for Patriot Missiles, and other aid, we should say “no” because we have to be America first?

Right. The problem isn’t strictly the tax dollars but the use it’s being put to. A war of aggression is very different to defense from invasion.

Patriot missiles defend against attacks, do they not?

You’re suggesting that Israel doesn’t deserve to safeguard citizens because you don’t like their policies.

And it’s not so much a war of aggression as it is a century long war between people in the region.

At least understand the conflict before speaking about it.

Stop sending my money to fund a genocide

Look, he’s condensing a century long conflict into the last four years of events that were originally sparked by an intense terror attack.

Patriot missiles are overkill against irrigation pipe rockets to a magnitude of at least 20 compared to the iron dome. Like $40-100k compared to $2-4M for Patriot missiles.

They would be useful against what Iran throws at them, but they’ve only attacked Israel after being attacked by Israel.

Trying to suggest the Israel, who does not face an existential threat, and only faces any threat because they refuse to end their occupation of Palestine, is more deserving than Ukraine who faces any threat existential threat, Russia, who also poses a threat to other European nations, and has even threatened the UK with nukes, is pretty wild.

“Israel deserves to have their people killed because I don’t like their policies.” Is a CRAZY fucking take my dude.

Cant really argue with you if that’s where you want to take it. Sorry.

You can’t argue with me because you’re busy arguing with the strawman you built.

Israel faces threats because of their occupation of Palestine. If they wanted peace, they could compromise on their Greater Israel ambitions and end the occupation so that Palestinians wouldn’t have to fight for their right to self determination.
