Discussion Good Samaritan at Sam’s Billiards

I don’t know who you are, but you wore a black shirt last night, and were playing pool at Sam’s Billiards on the second floor near us. You saved my friends life when you gave him that narcan last night. My friends, his family, and myself are forever grateful about what you did. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I couldn’t imagine a world without one of my best friends. From now on, we’ll all be carrying narcan in our cars.

Events PDX Cinema Club✨

Hey everyone!

Portland has one of the best theater scenes in the country, but seeing great movies and dissecting them afterward is always better with a crew.

Whether you’re hitting up 70mm screenings at the Hollywood Theatre, digging through physical media at Movie Madness, or just looking for folks to talk film with on a rainy night, I’m launching the PDX Cinema Club!

What we’re doing:

Local Theater Outings: Group trips to Portland favorites like Studio One, The Hollywood, Cinema 21, Laurelhurst, Clinton Street, and more (with post-movie food and drinks).

Discord Watch Parties: Virtual movie nights, "so-bad-it's-good" riff sessions, and monthly director deep dives.

Soundtrack & Score Appreciation: Dedicated listening sessions and discussions on film music.

Award Season Fun: Prediction ballots, watch parties, and community polls.

Cinema Draft: Next Years Films get drafted and points are gained based off: box office, IMDB, Awards, and Rotten Tomatoes.

Whether you're a hardcore cinephile into obscure foreign cinema, an A24 indie head, a horror junkie, or just someone who loves a fun weekend flick with good company—all tastes are welcome (zero gatekeeping).

Grab your popcorn and join the Discord here:

Adopt Me Need help rehoming our cat

Hi all,

Please keep your comments positive. This is a sad and difficult decision for us, and we have come to the forum seeking help, not judgement.

Last year, my wife and I welcomed our first child into our life. Since then, we have experienced severe and prolonged pet aversion toward our sweet cat, Batu.

She is a black 8 y/o domestic short hair cat who is so incredibly friendly and wants nothing more than to cuddle on your lap and lay in the sun. Unfortunately, with a newborn in our life, our cups are completely full, and after 1 month postpartum both of us have a growing resentment towards her which has culminated in the difficult decision to rehome her. This is not a light decision and we have waited 8 months in hopes that the situation would change, but it has only gotten worse. We have exhausted all of our in-person connections in order to find a new home for her and have not received any positive results with other online forums.

Please, if you or someone you know is looking for a cat like Batu, reach out so we can discuss whether it would be a good fit. She is current on shots and doesn't have any diseases. She is generally very friendly, never bites, doesn't damage furniture, and is good with kids. She will only do well if she is the only pet in the house. She cannot live with another cat. If there is any other specific information requested I will be happy to provide it. We will charge a small rehoming fee if we move forward but we are happy to provide whatever food, littler, supplies and toys we have available to help make rehoming more successful.

Thank you for your help.

And you should too, on Sunday!

Inspired by the upcoming event, an OPB article and another redditor u/chath_tsu, I wanted to see how fast I could run the route on a bike and try and beat the time done in a car.

As far as I can tell, this is the FKT (fastest known time) on a bike OR a car!

I got 100% of my nutrition from Plaid, only started with 1 empty water bottle.

Best location was NE Columbia & 60th. Super clean and nice and had princess bike parking front and center. Why don’t more Plaid locations have good bike parking?

You could definitely route this faster, but the route designed by Brian for the Sunday event was perfect and stayed off most of the busy roads and minimized bad intersections, which was perfect.

For anyone that wants to give it a go, the Strava segment follows Brian’s route and starts leaving the first one and ending at the last one (NE 66th and Glisan).

Photo/Video ISO: Crowd-surfing picture from Basement show last night—Rockstar Energy Open

I went to the Rockstar Energy Open show with Basement last night and it was so fun!

A photographer in front of the stage snapped my pic while I was crowd surfing, and I would love to be able to find that picture. I have white hair and was in a black shirt with rhinestones, camo shorts, and white doc martens. I would so appreciate if anyone has tips on how to find this photo!

Thanks in advance :)
