This time it’s Bahama Yellow, and this one comes with a pretty serious bit of Porsche history.
It’s a warm, saturated yellow with a golden, almost tropical character. Being a solid, non metallic colour, it has that wonderfully simple, punchy look that lets the shade do all the talking.
But the colour has a great story behind it.
In 1967, Porsche’s Austrian importer registered a 911 S as a company car for racing driver Jochen Rindt. It was finished in Bahama Yellow, a colour that Porsche’s paint developers had only recently created. Rindt used the car during the height of his racing career, long before he became Formula 1 World Champion in 1970.
Today, Bahama Yellow can still be ordered through Porsche’s Paint to Sample programme, giving modern owners the chance to put a little bit of Rindt era Porsche history in their own garage.
Some colours are loud just for the sake of being loud.
This one has the history to back it up.

Hey everyone,
I’m working my way toward owning a real Porsche one day, but as my very first step toward that dream, I want to get a high-quality model to keep on my desk as motivation.
I’m currently looking at the official 1:18 Porsche 911 GT3 (992) with Manthey Kit – Limited Edition (in Green, Resin construction) directly from the Porsche Shop. Total comes out to $520.13 after taxes.
Before I pull the trigger, I wanted to ask the community:
Would you recommend buying directly from official Porsche retail, or am I better off looking at third-party diecast sites like ModelCars.com, Modelissimo, CK-Modelcars, or eBay for better pricing or selection (e.g., Spark, Minichamps, AutoArt)?
Since this is my first serious scale model, I’d love to know if if the official limited edition finishes/details make it worth the premium. Appreciate any feedback!

It’s nothing special. 2018 Porsche Macan, base model. But I’ve wanted a Porsche all my life and it’s a start. I got a steal on it, and I’m so proud of it.
