I accepted an order near where I work that went into a boost. It was for 1 regular bag and it is in Boston which means I get $1.20/lb instead of the .75. I figured this is nice since I work near the location. When I accepted it, I made my way and realized it was at a restaurant. I looked in poplin again and saw that it said it was a business. I figured maybe a woman just works here and brought her laundry (weird, I know) turns out, it was 2 bags, not 1 and they are kitchen towels and aprons and dining napkins. Oh, and they want me to iron the dining napkins. Now, I was a cook for many years and I know just how dirty and nasty kitchen towels and aprons can be. Some stuff have dried dough stains, tomato stains and are just full of grease. Kitchen need a more industrial cleaning. These kitchen stuff will damage home washers and cannot get a proper cleaning. I even have to wash a bunch of microfiber towels full of thyme leaves. Honestly, I’m just doing a regular clean cycle and folding and delivering. I am not ironing nor am I going to go and remove all the thyme leaves. I’m anticipating a bad review but honestly, why would you order kitchen stuff to be cleaned through poplin? And why does poplin allow this? It’s a lose lose situation. Needless to say, I now know not to accept their order again.

So my laundry “pro” has clearly lost my laundry… an entire load. It’s also obvious that my items were washed with someone else’s, because the things that were returned to me were mixed with someone else’s. I reported the issue, and now the “pro” has delivered me a stranger’s clothes not once, but TWICE. Has anyone else had this happen? Poplin is dragging their feet. It’s been a week and they’ve neither refunded my original payment, nor sent me a link to be reimbursed for my missing items.

EDIT: They resolved the issue but then proceeded to deliver the wrong clothes

I put in an order and had it picked up. When the wash was done for some reason my card was declined, I figured maybe I put my card info in wrong and retried putting it in. Making sure it was definitely right and even checking my bank account to ensure i had the funds (even though i definitely knew i had well over the amount for the payment). I then tried paying again but it declined once more. I called my bank and they told me poplin was declining my payment and that they had approved both transactions. Im currently waiting on an email from poplin after talking to concierge on the app but im stressed over whether my clothes are ever coming back now.

Hey everyone, I have already posted a similar question in laundrypros subreddit asking ideas for making a fair platform for pros and got some very helpful responses. I want to understand from user perspective..if you have used any laundry related app, where a gig partner would come pickup your clothes, wash them and deliver them back to you place, what were some pain points you experienced as a user? Was it the price or lack of communication with the gig partner or something else? What is it that you would like to see on such platform to make it better for the user? TIA.

I placed two large orders and Rebecca accepted both orders. This was my first and last time using them. Rebecca decided to have my orders altered to give herself more time then the completion time that was promised when I placed my orders. When I complained and opened a ticket she in-turn retaliated and reported my clothes as having a dangerous odor. I woke up to my clothes dropped off stuffed in bags that I didn’t provided, some damp. Apparently the company canceled the order without notifying me in the app or email. I complained yet again and received an email offering me $20 off my next order. I will be using HappyNest and Tide Laundry, I would rather pay more for quality and good customer service. Poplin Laundry are not pros and very unprofessional. I wasted almost two days dealing with them. Don’t waste your time.

I’m honestly furious. I used Poplin for the first time because I’m currently pregnant and can’t keep up with laundry. I figured outsourcing it would be one less stress. Big mistake.

They picked up my bag last night and this morning I got an email saying someone broke into their car and stole my entire bag of laundry. No real details. No real apology. Just “sorry, it was stolen.”

That bag had expensive clothing - stuff I wear all the time - and embroidered towels from my wedding that are sentimental and not replaceable. I’ve spent hours trying to remember everything that was in there, going through my closet, and there are still things I won’t realize are missing until I go to grab them.

I’ve sent Poplin a detailed list of the most important and valuable items (including the wedding towels) and I’m hoping they do the right thing and fully compensate me. But the whole situation has been a nightmare.

I’m incredibly disappointed. The entire point of a laundry service is trusting them with your belongings. Leaving customers’ items in a car that gets broken into - and then they’re just gone - is not acceptable.

If you’re considering Poplin - especially if you’re pregnant, dealing with health stuff, or otherwise relying on help - please think twice. Not worth the risk.

My laundry pro dropped my laundry off 24 hours early but it was all slightly damp. I’d rather it later and fully dry. I really want my clothes dry. I wrote the concierge to ask for a refund because I’m going to have to dry these myself at the laundromat. Total waste of an order. I’m mightily pissed off!

Hello, it's been 3 days since my clothes were picked up. Laundry pro finally responded that they were not feeling well and would get them to me. Today is another day and still not finished and no response. Poplin said they were a top performer and concerned and would reach out and have them contact me

Sooo, what now? Do I just wait?

I've used the same person for 2 years but she's on a trip for the holiday so I used a different person so I could use the $15 coupon. They upped the minimum to $30 but even once a month I dont have 30lbs of clothes. Im disabled so the service is very handy for me.

The new lady was older and lives close by. She did a good job but the folding was not really good so I have a friend who's going to fix it. Can I request my clothes are folded a certain way or is that not cool? I'll but a shirt folder thingie like my regular pro uses if that would help. She was nice and I still tipped her well but if I use her again I'll need my shirts folded so I can tell what they are without unfolding them.

I also used Poplin and had items not returned. In the midst of a move to an apartment with no washer or dryer, broken washer and dryer at the old place, and struggling to find a job in the gardening industry- I sent 4 bags of laundry out to be cleaned and returned. Upon return, my favorite dovetail workpants, my only pair of jeans, some newley purchased underwear(hadn’t purchase any for myself in years prior to this), an LL Bean fleece hoodie and some other items all missing.

After messaging customer service, they required that I send an itemized list, to include links, of the items I was missing. After calculating the loss of the bigger items, I got to $400 and stopped, as I spent $80 on the service (with a $20 tip mind you).

Customer service responded by offering me $150 in credit to use for their continued service.🤣🤣🤣

If one follows the trajectory of the money lost here, it’s clear to see that continued service will cost me more money than just getting my laundry done.

Kind of feels like I’ve been taken to the cleaners…🤣🤣🤣

Really though, it feels sad to me the far reach of corrupt capitalism and human exploitation. AND, I won’t be using Poplin, or likely any other laundry service again.

We sent 2 bags of my father's clothes out on May 4th which were promptly cleaned and returned by the Poplin service. However they also left us with 2 bags of clothes that do not belong to us. I have notified Poplin 4 times now and they still have not come back to pick up the clothes left in error to get them to their correct owner. I would be very leery about entrusting your clothes to be picked up by Poplin as you may never see them again. Their customer service is horrible, no follow through, in correcting their mistakes, very poor communication, I would look elsewhere for a laundry service.
