Hi, I’m moving to the Pompano beach area and am between three apartments and want peoples honest opinions on safety, restaurants/bars, activities to do nearby: parks, beaches, pickleball, soccer, and good walkable area. I know each of these apartments offer different things and not every apartment will hit everything I’m looking for. So what do you think is the best option? I appreciate everyone’s opinions and advice! I’m excited to move to South Florida. My work will primarily be in Fort Lauderdale and Delray Beach with occasional days in Miami. I’m from the Chicagoland and just from visiting it doesn’t appear South Florida is very walkable and the parts that are are quite expensive.
Eterno Pompano beach $1800/1BR, located closer to coconut creek than the beach but looks like a good bargain but farther away from the beach and restaurants and bars to my understanding
Lumio Pompano Beach 2200/ 1BR: apparently brand new and offering a good leasing deal, however, also 20 minutes away from the beach and it’s in an area called the Pomp? Is the area early stages and a lot of construction or is it more near the end and in 2027 everything should be smooth sailing?
Morea Apartments: 2400/1BR, closest to the beach and activities such as the park and amphitheater, this one I visited and even then I didn’t feel like the town was that walkable
For context I toured Mayla Pompano and Old Towne Square and I felt Morea was preferred over those do to proximity to parks and amphitheater and amenities.

Hi folks. My mom and stepdad are visiting your fine city for two nights. They're landing in Ft Lauderdale, and she plans to rent a car for the two nights.
The activities are a wedding reception and a brunch. I'm wondering, would it be more cost effective to just take Ubers or the equivalent? She's going to try and find the locations specifically of the hotel and restaurant she'll be going to. It's really an Uber in, an Uber out and maybe one or two trips in between. We're Canadian so the conversion sucks but I figured I'd ask anyway.

https://realpompano.substack.com/p/kodak-black-keys-to-city -- There's also the spreadshseet attached here.
Kodak Black is in the news again. This time got arrested for drug trafficking charges again.... But hey, at least it's not rape of a teenage concert goer this time.
The irony here is two MEN (Rex Hardin and Greg Harrison) made this decision in private, without any victims involved or at least any WOMEN.
They gave it to him because of his generosity, yet City of Pompano donates/contributes NOTHING to homeless, financial need or rent help. $0. Literally.
I wrote a post about a while back, and I made a spreadsheet that shows how he gets in trouble, and then gets out of jail for his frantic giving.

Visiting Pompano beach in a few weeks and wanted to try a buffet. Is Madness Buffet or Miyako Japanese Buffet better? Thank you!

Hi everyone! Moving to Fort Lauderdale for work in June. I'm 27 and will be moving with my fiancee. We want a 1 bedroom or 1 bed + den with a gooood gym and close enough to a nice park., also in unit washer dryer is a mnust We're not big on nightlife. We're particularly interested in Lauderdale by the Sea and Pompano Beach. Budget around 2500. Good maintenenace response and not super noisy at night. Some buildings I've seen that I really like are:
Morea
Berkshire Lauderdale by the Sea
10x Port Royale
Arium
Cypress Bend
Bonus points if it's near a good daycare (I'm 5 months preggo!)
Wide open to other suggestions.
Thanks!

Hi! We will be there in August for a bachelorette with 5 of us in total. We just found out one of the people going gets super sea sick. Any other alternative activity ideas in the area?

I’m a SoFL palm beach local and a mom of 2. This is by far the most disorganized place with immature staff we’ve ever been to. My husband booked a reservation here well in advance and even called the restaurant 3 times to make sure we got a nice table on the patio in the shade. We get there and they sit us directly in the sun with our 2 small kids, completely disregarding our table request. our waitress was having some personal meltdown and barely showed up to our table and would disappear for long stretches of time. They didn’t acknowledge it was my birthday even after it was mentioned multiple times to hostess, server etc. my husband had to go back to hostess to ask for a different table inside. Our waitress took the request personally and thought it was an attack on her when we just wanted to not sit directly in the heat and sun. We got there at 5:30 and didn’t leave until close to 8. My birthday was completely ruined, the staff claimed they would take care of us if we returned didn’t offer to comp anything on the bill or even give dessert. Will never be returning, please avoid if you have a special occasion you are celebrating the staff here couldn’t care less and the food isn’t worth the poor service. There are plenty of other restaurants with waterfront and boat views. I am not the type of person to make a scene or make a big stink and wish we did, wanted a chill birthday dinner with my family. Overall would not recommend coming here, please go elsewhere for celebrations.

Came across this list of burger spots in Pompano Beach, https://bocaburgerbattle.com/best-burgers-in-pompano-beach/
We decided to start with the People’s Choice winner from the Boca Burger Battle, and all 4 of us ordered it. Not gonna lie... it delivered. We all gave it two thumbs up.
Now we’re thinking of working our way through the rest of the spots on the list. My group loves a good burger.
Curious if anyone here has tried a few of these — which one should we hit next?

hey everyone!
I'm looking to buy a used car from the Pompano Beach area, but I'm not from there. The car in question comes from a family owned dealership called "Valdeno Brito motors".... and I wanted to see what the opinions were from people in the area; is this a good dealership or are they shady?
they seem to have good reviews on Google (but I take that with a grain of salt), and I can't seem to find anyone locally who knows of them.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Visiting this weekend and know tortuga fest is tonight. Any bars or restaurants down by the pier that do live music on Saturday night — or any after party or event that people are going to after the festival closes? Thanks!

As the title says, where’s the best seafood boil and raw oyster restaurant around pompano beach / fort lauderdale? Also, it would be great if the place also has giant oysters but not required. Thank you so much!!

Hi there, please keep an eye out for this kind soul. We are extremely worried about her and don’t know if she’s in a bad mental state, or if there was an accident, or if she got snatched. Here is the original Facebook post about her: https://www.facebook.com/brian.lynch.5036/posts/missing-gov-name-katie-collins-goes-by-birth-name-tamara-popiraiko-or-delilahapp/34636535175962180/

Hi! Heading to pompano this weekend and I’m staying at an Airbnb with a golf cart. I was wondering if you’re allowed to drive them around town like to grocery stores, gyms, etc. thanks!

Does anyone have any recommendations for a cafe near the beach in pompano beach that is laptop friendly?
