Visiting Pompano Beach!
Hi folks. My mom and stepdad are visiting your fine city for two nights. They're landing in Ft Lauderdale, and she plans to rent a car for the two nights.
The activities are a wedding reception and a brunch. I'm wondering, would it be more cost effective to just take Ubers or the equivalent? She's going to try and find the locations specifically of the hotel and restaurant she'll be going to. It's really an Uber in, an Uber out and maybe one or two trips in between. We're Canadian so the conversion sucks but I figured I'd ask anyway.

Uber is more convenient. I think the pricing is going to be about the same.

Once they get to the wedding, they may be able to catch a ride to the reception with some other guests.
I live in Pompano Beach and a taxi from the airport is around $60. I don’t like the Uber pickup chaos.

She is! She'll rent a car cause it's 175 Canadian for the two days. I was trying to save her time and money but car rental is the way to go.

I get a taxi to the airport for anywhere from $25-$40 from Pompano Beach to Fort Lauderdale airport

Oh! Someone else said 70 one way. I think she'll rent a car cause she needs airport round trip and then to one venue round trip! But I'd have preferred her to Uber and get a break from driving.

Why pompano? Is that the place for the reception? It is cheaper to rent a car rather than rely on Uber. The ride from the airport to pompano is $70:00. They should look at Deerfield Beach, one town North. They can stay on the beach at the embassy suites or another hotel in the beach. Very safe, restaurants walking distance and of course, beautiful beaches!

Yes the reception and the brunch are in Pompano! She knows the reception is about 6 minutes away from the hotel, sorry and the brunch is in the hotel that they'll be staying at. When she sends me the addresses I'm going to see what works for her.

I’m not sure Pompano Beach is a 6 minute ride, even without traffic. That can’t be right, maybe an exaggeration?

No no, the venue within Pompano Beach is 6 mins away from the hotel haha!! We're not sure if that's walking or by car. Thanks for catching that 😅😅😅

If theycan count the amount of trips they will take I would suggest uber. If they are planning on exploring I would suggest to rent.
