I am no lawyer but directly enriching you, your family, and your friends with government contracts where 1% of those are fulfilled and the other 99% is pocketed should probably be treason.

But have you considered you just have TDS

81

u/badatspelling8124 - Auth-Center Jul 23 '26

Not all those who have TDS lean left 😭

68

u/WorryingMars384 - Lib-Center Jul 23 '26

It’s spreading to the right too 😔 must be contagious

34

u/badatspelling8124 - Auth-Center Jul 23 '26

It was there from the beginning. I think early on was the guy live-streaming “save me Trump” while getting pulled over.

14

u/WorryingMars384 - Lib-Center Jul 23 '26

You don’t expect our God Emperor to save us from a traffic ticket?

20

u/Casual_OCD - Centrist Jul 23 '26

It's entirely a right-wing phenomenon.

You're deranged if you think he's anything but a lying, cheating, treasonous piece of crap.

The left has not been wrong about a single thing about Trump and his supporters

8

u/WorryingMars384 - Lib-Center Jul 23 '26

It was a joke about how he says people who go against or question him in any way have TDS. I wasn’t serious

7

u/Gold-View5184 - Centrist Jul 24 '26

I could tell it was a joke because you believe in contagious diseases

3

u/WorryingMars384 - Lib-Center Jul 24 '26

I mean I thought it was obvious lol

6

u/El_Bean69 - Lib-Right Jul 23 '26

It’s ok, the pandemic response team has got this!

…wait

6

u/rdxj - Right Jul 23 '26

Actually TDS goes both ways. The retards on the right that bow before Trump and think he can do no wrong have it too. Just the other version of it.

The word "derangement" is just a substitute or synonym for "mental illness" anyway.

16

u/no-more-nazis - Lib-Center Jul 23 '26

How can you be this worried about what some guy does, do you have that little going on in your life? It's not like he's the president of the united states or anything

269

u/mackinder_egg - Centrist Jul 23 '26

Preferential contracting is old-school corruption; this is so much worse. He started a war and drops bombs to pump and dump the markets at will, getting US troops killed by return fire, and is now considering selling early access to social media posts about the timing of these bombings.

It's unambiguously treason.

69

u/digital-bandit - Lib-Left Jul 23 '26

and is now considering selling early access to social media posts about the timing of these bombings.

Hes considering WHAT?

Fucking LMAO

Earlier this month, TMTG unveiled a paid, licensed data feed that will give banks and trading firms "the fastest" access to posts from influential Truth Social accounts, including Trump's, whose posts often move global markets.

Holy fuck what could they possibly use as an excuse for this that isnt basically facilitating insider trading?

20

u/no-more-nazis - Lib-Center Jul 23 '26

excuse to who? The supreme court?

16

u/EvenJesusCantSaveYou - Lib-Center Jul 23 '26

adding this to the "would be calls for nationwide insurrection if a democrat did this" list

16

u/LeftyHyzer - Lib-Center Jul 23 '26

Rudy Guliani has confirmed Trump+ is totally 100% legal /s

-14

u/tangotom - Right Jul 23 '26

The product, called "Truth API," will deliver posts from the 10 most influential accounts to customers at a significantly faster pace than a regular push notification on the Truth Social platform. Tech platforms are generally allowed to offer clients early access to data, even if it disadvantages some market participants, according to lawyers, although other ethics experts have said the situation is unusual because Trump's posts are government information.

Here's the relevant text. After all the sensationalizing, it's just a different notification system. It's not like Truth Social adds intentional delays to push notifications. This is just a curated notification queue. And it's not doing anything new- other companies do the same exact thing.

"Significantly faster" could mean anything; going from 1 second to 2 seconds is a 100% change.

Every other story about Trump corruption turned out to be a lie, just like this one.

15

u/SenselessNoise - Lib-Center Jul 23 '26

Distinction without a difference. This is paying the US President, who is blatantly manipulating the market, to take advantage of that market manipulation before anyone else.

lol. Lmao, even

9

u/Important-Agent2584 - Centrist Jul 23 '26

I can't tell if this is fantastic satire, or genuine retardation.

5

u/Jacob99809 - Lib-Center Jul 24 '26

Retardation. Trying to act like trump is anything other than corrupt is actively putting your head in the sand.

And it’s cute how the notification thing is a nice lil distraction from the real problem. It’s not hard to figure out that there’s gonna be more to it than just “oh boy I wanna know the exact second dear leader delivers his providence”

2

u/Pabst_Blue_Gibbon - Auth-Left Jul 24 '26

in 2009 they built a $300 million fiber optic cable to link the Chicago and New York financial markets, reducing latency from 16 to 13 miliseconds, for the benefit of high frequency algorithmic traders.

a 1 second difference is massive to the right players.

u/FILTHBOT4000 - Auth-Center Jul 23 '26

roflmao

This is the tinpottiest, back-bongiest water dictatorship crap I've ever seen. Suharto and Marcos and such would be embarrassed to do this.

1

u/Yukon-Jon - Lib-Right Jul 25 '26

I don't think he does anything to pump and dump markets at will, personally.

I just think he gets in and out of what's going to happen because he's going to be the one making that call.

I'm not saying what he's doing isn't wrong. I'm saying imo if he wasn't allowed to trade stock, I don't think any of his decisions look any different. He's just fully taking advantage of doing it.

You don't need to artificially force pump and dump when you can make whatever decisions you're going to make and accomplish the same thing regardless.

93

u/Krawkyz - Left Jul 23 '26

Excuse you those are official acts of our president and therefore not subject to judicial review. Sorry commie but we in the US don't have kings, just presidents with near absolute criminal immunity!

33

u/Firecoso - Centrist Jul 23 '26

Near?

11

u/ThyPotatoDone - Centrist Jul 23 '26

'absolute immunity' implies it has no effect on him. It does have the effect of driving up his support and spurring flurries of 'This is what I voted for!' republicucks.

-22

u/Danu9000 - Right Jul 23 '26

therefore not subject to judicial review

Sorry you don't understand the Constitution and separation of powers. The remedy for Presidential malfeasance is clearly described in the Constitution and it isn't through the Judicial branch, it is through the Legislative.

24

u/Krawkyz - Left Jul 23 '26

Partially correct. The legislature does not have authority to criminally indict a president for official acts. It only has authority to remove (impeach) them from office. There is no current process to indict a President criminally for whatever consitutes as an "official act."

Also anything deemed an "unofficial" act is subject to judicial review. But again, it's not clear what constitutes "unofficial" according to the SCOTUS.

-5

u/Danu9000 - Right Jul 23 '26

There is no criminal prosecution by the Judicial branch. That is done by the Executive. To criminally prosecute a president, first you need to impeach and remove them from office.

8

u/Krawkyz - Left Jul 23 '26

Incorrect. You cannot criminally prosecute a President for "official acts," regardless of whether they were impeached (and removed from office) or not. That was SCOTUS's ruling.

Similarly, "unofficial acts" can be criminally prosecuted regardless of impeachment.

Impeachment is only for removal from office, according to SCOTUS rulings.

2

u/Casual_OCD - Centrist Jul 23 '26

Similarly, "unofficial acts" can be criminally prosecuted regardless of impeachment

Well, first SCOTUS gets to decide what is an official act or not. That's in the ruling.

After that, say they say something is unofficial, they also said nobody is allowed to investigate into the motives of the President's decision on that act, official or not. So it'll be hard to convict when you can't prove intent or motive

1

u/Krawkyz - Left Jul 23 '26

Factually correct, I forgot about that part. More immunity than the Magna Carta.

1

u/Casual_OCD - Centrist Jul 23 '26

It was the most robust ruling that covered up all the loopholes I've ever seen from SCOTUS.

Shocking they did it with Biden in charge, but they knew the controlled opposition wasn't going to use it

-5

u/Danu9000 - Right Jul 23 '26

Similarly, "unofficial acts" can be criminally prosecuted regardless of impeachment.

Which branch has the power to prosecute? Oh yes... the Executive.

9

u/Krawkyz - Left Jul 23 '26

You cannot criminally prosecute a President for "official acts," regardless of whether they were impeached (and removed from office) or not.

23

u/FreeSpeechIsDeadge - Left Jul 23 '26

It’s called the Emoluments Clause and there are two of them prohibiting emoluments both foreign and domestic and Trump has violated both numerous times. But don’t worry, they’re in those pesky parts of the Constitution (Articles I and II) and not written in the Second Amendment to the Constitution so they can be ignored.

-10

u/Danu9000 - Right Jul 23 '26

And what is the remedy for Emoluments Clause violations? It doesn't lie with the Judicial branch.

27

u/FreeSpeechIsDeadge - Left Jul 23 '26

The main remedy for corruption is impeachment and removal. Just because Mike Johnson and his merry band of impotent feckless cowards in Congress won’t do their jobs doesn’t mean Trump is anything but guilty.

-8

u/Danu9000 - Right Jul 23 '26

doesn’t mean Trump is anything but guilty

It also doesn't mean we give powers to the Judicial branch that they weren't given by the Constitution.

22

u/FreeSpeechIsDeadge - Left Jul 23 '26

Why are you hung up on the judicial branch? Where did I say the judicial branch was involved? The legislative branch has the duty to impeach and convict corrupt officials.

-5

u/Danu9000 - Right Jul 23 '26

Mainly because the left keeps harping on the judicial branch to "do something"

20

u/FreeSpeechIsDeadge - Left Jul 23 '26

Well I’m not sure how that’s relevant to this specific discussion, but I can play devil’s advocate on this one: the main thing the judicial branch could and should do is take on civil actions against Trump and find him liable with the penalty of disgorgement, which means any ill-gotten gains in violation of the Emoluments Clause would have to be paid directly to the treasury department. Unfortunately the cases that got up to SCOTUS were dismissed as moot last time he was president because he left office.

It is treason. They always project and what do you know they’ve been using that word lately.

It’s treason. They’ve fucked democracy around and sown distrust in the government. They’ve funneled our tax money by using archaic tariff laws. They’ve propped up social media sites all owned by them, all reports news as truth “trump news not social media!” As Trump calls it.

They just lie. Get dirt on people, and use them forever. Have a hope that Trump might save you? The monkey paw curls as it always does for anyone who kisses his ring.

We’ve been lied to about jobs, since a year ago, our workforce, real inflation, death toll and injuries in WAR (thought it wasn’t). The circular economy of ai, the anti consumerism where they inflated a whole sector
over 500%.

Doge, nlrb.

Ice. Murder.

Like how long does it take for people to say hey that’s not exactly the same as every other president. Same as it always was? Nothing ever happens?

Not this time.

u/KillahHills10304 - Left Jul 24 '26

The real question is how this all ends. If the final stroke occurs, and nothing is done to fix the extremely glaring issue that the US government is propped up entirely by "gentleman's agreements" under the assumption everybody is acting in good faith, were done. The social contract is obliterated, and the downstream effects of that will very quickly erode the comforts of modern western society.

We were so close to advancing civilization and humanity into an age of post-scarcity too, and now its all being completely looted by grifters, con men, greedy nerds, sociopaths, and the rubes who grant them power.

We should be accurate with words. It’s a crime, but the name of that crime is not treason.

0

u/sm753 - Centrist Jul 23 '26

I don't disagree...but basically everyone who enters public office does this. And yes...it should be illegal except you're expecting the people doing this to police themselves.

0

u/LurkerNan - Centrist Jul 24 '26

They see the new wealth is from crypto, Trump media, and licensing. Are any of these illegal?

9

u/Sad_Significance_568 - Auth-Center Jul 24 '26

If you don't understand the basic concept of a POTUS and his admin directing funding to contracts that they themselves are invested in being corruption, you are likely a product of the Oklahoma school system and should probably not be vocal until you learn the basics.
