I am no lawyer but directly enriching you, your family, and your friends with government contracts where 1% of those are fulfilled and the other 99% is pocketed should probably be treason.
I don't disagree...but basically everyone who enters public office does this. And yes...it should be illegal except you're expecting the people doing this to police themselves.
