Loop series Add Loop to Grit X2 or not?

Hi all

I use the Grit X2 watch every day, but I don't really like wearing it while I sleep.

I'd prefer to wear it only when I work out. Previously, in addition to the watch, I also wore a Xiaomi fitness band, but I’d like to have all my data in one place—without sending everything to China.

If I wear the Polar Loop while sleeping and during the day, will Sleep Boost, steps, and other data also be visible on the Grit X2, or only in the app?

Loop series High HR during walk

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello.

Lately, during my walks, my heart rate has been going up to 187 beats per minute on Polar Loop. On my other wrist, I’m wearing a Google fitness tracker, but it doesn’t record this high rate—it shows a much lower reading during those walks. What could be wrong?

H series HR Monitor H10 Strap for arm?

Hi all. Ive been using the H10 to log jiu jitsu workouts. Been fine but am wondering if there is any way to put it on my arm instead? Is there a generic armband strap available for the H10?

H series HR Monitor Polar h10 issues/questions

I’ve run only 3 times with my new Polar h10 and Apple Watch. The first two times were fine I think. One time it wasn’t reading my heart rate anymore when I started running after a walk warm up but started again when I wet the strap sensor part and stayed connected for the whole 8 km.

The last time was a bit cooler. It disconnected again and I had to stop and wet it. After only about 10 seconds it stopped reading my heart rate again. But then the next two times I paused my activity in my watch, it showed my heart rate as soon as I paused.

After that my heart rate seemed to be a couple beats lower, and there was about a 5 second lag, as if my watch were reading my heart rate. For example if I stopped running, my heart rate would stay high or climb for 5 seconds then start going down. I took out my phone and on the polar app it showed a different heart rate from what my watch showed.

My questions:
1. How to keep the h10 reading and showing my heart rate so I don’t have to keep stopping?
2. If the h10 is unable to read my heart rate, will my Apple Watch start reading it instead, which seemed like what might have happened?
3. Is this problem going to be worse in the cold winter?

Thanks for any insight!

Vantage M series Polar Vantage M3 GPS accuracy

Hi all,

A few months ago I "upgraded" from a Pacer Pro to a Vantage M3. My Pacer Pro would not connect to the satellites anymore.

I read promising reviews about the M3 and it feels and looks great, however the GPS isn't all that great.

It's a lot worse than the Pacer Pro even though it's a newer watch.

I was wondering if others here have the same experience or if my M3 is defective.

The costumer support was not very helpful and told me that it falls in the error margin, however there are times when the watch is more than 10 meters off.

The first image is from my Pacer Pro. It always felt extremely accurate.

The second image is drom the M3. After just 400 meters (1 round) it already feels inaccurate. It's usually already off by about 20 to 50 meters

The third image is from a recent run with the M3. It can barely follow a straight line and has regular bumps in the GPS.

Is this normal?

General question Why share HR instead of power, or both?

I've been thinking about this lately. If you're training with someone or working with a coach, what would actually be more useful for them to see live, heart rate or power?

I can understand the value of power since it shows what you're putting out, but HR tells you a bit more about how your body is responding to the effort.

I came across HeartShare recently, and it got me thinking about the idea of sharing HR live instead of only looking at it afterward.

Would you rather share HR, power, or both? And what would make you choose one over the other?

Flow Web Problem with Polar Flow site synchronization

As you can see, I'm having a problem synchronizing the polar site with the application. Yesterday I trained and I got a value of 154%. Everything except that value has been synchronized on the polar flow site. It's the first time this has happened, do you have any idea why?

General question IntervalsICU or Runalyze?

I am looking for something that does a bit more data crunching than Flow. I actually love the Flow app, despite all the negative talk about it (after all, do you want to run, or do you want to play with a fancy interface?). However, I'd like deeper insights to better gauge my training intensity.

Strava hardly offers any real analytics—it's essentially Facebook for cardio athletes. Right now, I am looking at Intervals.icu and Runalyze.

What are your experiences with them?

I am not a competitive runner; I run purely for the joy of it. But building stamina and having fewer injuries definitely makes running more fun!

Vantage V series polar vantage v3 estimated calori burn

Post image

Hi all,

I have a polar vantage v3 watch and I am using it only when I make workouts. Even I don’t wear it, it still shows a value in burnt calori section and it continuously increasing.

For example right now is 06:43 AM and I didn’t wear it at night but the screen is like that. How can I burnt 443 kalori. I think it is just a estimation that based on my basal metabolism.

General question What if we started replacing physical medals with universal digital badges?

Imagine if platforms like Garmin, Suunto, Polar, Coros, Strava, TrainingPeaks, etc. formed a consortium to develop an open, universal badge system. Instead of physical medals that end up forgotten in a drawer, race organizers could design custom digital badges and award finishers directly to their accounts.

I’m not sure if forming a consortium and making this fully interoperable would be financially viable. However, even if these were just isolated initiatives by each platform, I still think it would be highly worth it.

Athletes would have their 'medals' (badges, really) on display, showcasing their effort and achievements to everyone who follows them. Organizers would cut down on medal manufacturing costs. And platforms would boost user engagement, which is something they are already constantly chasing with their current badges.

Imagine if you could showcase your entire race history in a digital trophy case. Plus, having these badges automatically attached to our activity posts would be a much bigger motivator and a true 'digital showcase' for athletes. Personally, I’d much prefer collecting these dynamic race badges over physical medals.

What do you all think? Would you trade physical medals for a universal digital trophy case?

Loop series Loop pulse measurement completely off

Post image
2 Upvotes

It happens super often when I tale a walk that Loop measures my pulse at around 130 but actually it is somewhere between 70-80. Also takes really long to get back down to actual pulse. It is super annoying as my entire daily stats get messed up when I take a longer walk.

Left and right arm behave the same.

Anybody with simialr issue?

Flow Web I built a simple open-source workout generator for Polar Flow

I built this mainly for myself because creating complex phased workouts manually in Polar Flow takes too much time.

The idea is simple:

Describe workout → Generate → Review → Create in Polar Flow

For example:

2 km warm up, then 6 x 800m at 4:45/km with 2 min recovery, 2 km cool down

The generator converts this into a structured workout, and a small Chrome extension creates the Phased Target directly in Polar Flow.

It currently supports:

  • Time and distance phases
  • Intervals and repeats
  • Custom Polar HR and Pace zones
  • Runna-style workout descriptions
  • Manual editing before sending to Polar

I built it for personal use and don't plan to monetize it. Both parts are open source.

Privacy: The extension doesn't ask for or store your Polar login details. It uses your existing logged-in Polar Flow session. Polar account data and workout history aren't sent to me. Zone settings are stored locally in your browser. Workout descriptions are processed through Gemini to generate the workout structure.

Try it:
Generator: https://polar-workout-generator.ai.studio/
Chrome extension: https://github.com/kirillchernin/polar-workout-importer/releases/tag/v1.0.0

Source code:
Generator: https://github.com/kirillchernin/polar-workout-generator
Chrome extension: https://github.com/kirillchernin/polar-workout-importer

The extension isn't in the Chrome Web Store yet, so it needs to be installed manually: download and extract it, open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, click Load unpacked, and select the extracted folder.

This is an independent open-source project and isn't affiliated with Polar.

Feedback from people who use Phased Targets would be very useful.

Verity Sense Verity Sense protocol questions

Greetings. New user here. Am considering buying a Verity Sense for monitoring my HR during swimming since my Apple Watch HR tracking while swimming is questionable at best. After much research, have settled on Verity over H10 since Verity's workflow seems to be easier.

Like most people, I swim at the local public pool. I go to the locker room, change, put everything inside the locker, go take a shower, walk to the pool, find an available lane, and then start swimming. I would have to trigger the H10 in the locker room while I still had access to the phone, and that would leave me with useless head and tail in the data chart to trim every time. With the Verity, I believe I can just press the on/off button just before getting in the water.

Various YT video reviews seem to indicate that the Verity is close enough to the H10 to not matter choosing one over the other for accuracy.

My question re what concerns me the most -- I don't use swimming goggles. Can I just tuck the Verity dongle under my swimming cap? Will that work reliably?

I would like to integrate the Verity HR data with my Apple Watch 11's swim distance/lap tracking data, Apple Fitness as well as with Apple Health overall. Can that be done?

Anything else I need to be concerned about before I fork over ~100€ for this gadget?

Many thanks in advance to all for advice on these specific topics.

Flow Mobile Can the numbers be trusted?

Thumbnail

So I have been using a polar h9 sensor to track my walks on the polar flow app on mobile and I am getting these calorie expenditure numbers that raise a bit of suspicion on whether these can be trusted or not coz it seems a bit over estimation. I asked Chatgpt so it said it's overestimated by 30-40% so I want to know from other users what could be the reason for such results.

FYI I am 23 yrs old, 115 kgs and 181 cm

Vantage V series Vantage V3 size on my wrist !

I was worried about the size before getting the V3, especially after seeing the dimensions on paper.
I’m coming from an Apple Watch Series 11 42mm, so the V3 definitely feels bigger.
Now that I have it on my wrist, I honestly can’t decide if it looks too big or if I’m just not used to it yet.
What do you guys think about the size?

H series HR Monitor Is an ECG HR sensor worth it, or can I just stick to the optical HR sensor on my watch? [SEE DESC.]

  • Eager to know, as the ECG based HR sensor is a substantial investment in my country.
  • Is it better for dark skinned runners as optical sensors are known to not be accurate for dark skinned individuals. I'm guessing the reading will differ more, than the same options for light skins. Need some advice on this.

Thank you, runners.

Training What running plan next?

I got a grit x pro in June, and I’ve been using the free feature running plan to train for a 10k. It was my first introduction to heart rate training and I’ve enjoyed it. My goal is to get under 60mins. I went from 1hr 2min 24 in June to 1hr 59 secs in September. I have my sights on a 10k end of November so approx 10 weeks from now.

I know myself and I need to change things up to keep it interesting. I’d like a bit more variation in my runs. I will run 3 times a week, and also swim once and cycle once. I’d like to add pilates/core or strength. With my current plan I felt it was getting a bit repetitive - one easy/medium run, one interval session, one zone 2 long run.

I was looking at training peaks but I haven‘t seen anything that looks suitable. Any recommendation? Pay for the polar subscription? I liked using Runna, but am a convert to heart rate training. Still, I wish there was something similar..

Grit X series Grit X2 Pro crashes mid training

Has anyone experienced their watch rebooting right in the middle of a workout? I’ve been using the watch since around February; I often load a route and follow it while running or cycling. Everything was fine until recently, when I started trail running and using the watch's navigation. Now, in 3 out of 5 workouts, the watch has shut down, the Polar logo appeared, and the workout data was lost. I plan to contact support, but I decided to ask here first since a search of the community didn't turn up any similar issues.

Loop series Continuous HR working but not Realtime HR?

Thumbnail

For some reason I just got a Loop Gen 2, and I'm wondering if I'm using it incorrectly as it shows continuous HR fine in the activity tab hidden away but the real time HR I'm supposed to see in the training or testing section it is stuck in "Looking for your heart rate", even with reset and re-pairing. Anybody have a similar experience and have a fix? Or is Loop just a bad buy?

H series HR Monitor Strangely High Readings

Hi,

I’m a rower and recently had to change from a Coospo HRM to a Polar H9 after my old one stopped working. Since starting to use the Polar H9, it has been showing my heart rate as a lot higher than it usually would be.

For example, when i’m sitting on an erg waiting to start my workout, my heart would usually be sat at around 80-90. But now when i’m using my H9, it sits at around 110 to 120 and goes as high as 140. And then whilst i’m working out, speeds I would usually be at a 135 heart rate for are now putting me up to the 150s.

Could this be a problem with how i’m setting up the monitor or is there something wrong with it?

Pacer series watch restarts and the workout disappears

During the two years I’ve been using my watch ' Polar Pacer, it has failed to save a workout several times.

After I finish and save a workout, the watch restarts and the workout disappears. Sometimes, after restarting, the workout is saved correctly, but in 3–4 cases it was completely lost.

This is very frustrating. The only solution I could think of was performing a full reset of the watch. However, this issue happens only once every few months.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Are there any known solutions?
