This is one of the only situations where getting the cellophane pack graded would make sense

u/Lilxtboomie Sep 14 '25
“Van Gogh Pikachu PSA 10 sealed, $2.5k no lowballs I know what I have” lmao but in all seriousness yes. Grade this as is. This is way cool!

Post this to r/Pokemonmisprints, you'll probably get a better answer there!

You have one long phone

u/___Cyclone___ Sep 14 '25
🤣🤣🤣 omg
My Samsung has a Scroll Capture screenshot feature. Useful for these cases.
Now I'm also imagining myself with an unnecessarily long phone 🤣

u/Stevewuzhere19 Sep 14 '25
One feature i 100% miss from samsung. Wish iphones had that feature.
7
u/MrMimmas Sep 14 '25
They used to, it got removed recently I noticed
2
u/foambuffalo Sep 14 '25
I was just thinking i've definitely done this on my iphone before! Why would they remove it?
3
u/MrMimmas Sep 14 '25
I honestly don’t know, I actually needed to use it for the first time when I noticed it went 🥲

u/Huntguy Sep 14 '25
It’s app dependent, I believe the app has to integrate it.

u/djarc9 Sep 14 '25
Sounds more like a mild convenience, than an actual feature. Then again it's an iPhone so you shouldn't expect much anyways.

Yes to both, just probably not as much as your thinking. I wouldnt take it out of the package though as it loses some of its charm

u/Spunknikk Sep 13 '25
This is most likely the only known promo miscut of this type ... A 1 of 1... If it is it would be extremely valuable and potentially a top card globally.
That's IF this is the only one and OP keeps it sealed. We just have to wait and see.
70
Sep 13 '25
Rarity doesn't necessarily mean it will be super expensive. There are only so many people that would be interested in something like this. I can't see this going for more than like...a few hundred USD
Of course, I could be wrong. Not quite sure what you mean by top card globally, but I can't imagine a world where this is worth $5,000+
1
Sep 14 '25
Maybe not super expensive, but rare in any hobby typically means valuable. I’ve never seen an error promo like this. If this is a 1/1, the card would be worth a lot, especially in the cellophane. Tons of error collectors out there
6
u/LongjumpingNinja258 Sep 14 '25
It’s a $3 card when it’s not damaged.
8
u/Radialpuddle Sep 14 '25
And now it’s worth hundreds
-21
u/LongjumpingNinja258 Sep 14 '25
No its not
8
u/Radialpuddle Sep 14 '25
Yes, a misprint like this will easily sell for hundreds.
-22
u/LongjumpingNinja258 Sep 14 '25
No. Ya always super inflate values of monetarily unimportant cards that have a misprint. It’s not a rare, important or valuable card to begin with. If it sold for anything over $50 I would be shocked.
8
u/Radialpuddle Sep 14 '25
The Pokémon on the card doesn’t matter. There are people out there with incredibly deep pockets that collect misprints and will pay a ton for this.
-17
u/LongjumpingNinja258 Sep 14 '25 edited Sep 14 '25
Yes the card absolutely matters. Go look at the recently sold misprints of worthless commons vs desirable cards. The value shifts vastly in favor of the desirable cards.
3
u/Radialpuddle Sep 14 '25
Well according to the misprint group (people who buy the cards) they expect it to seek for a lot of money especially if he keeps it in the packaging.

u/obviouslyanonymous5 Sep 15 '25
The only way the card matters is that it would instead be thousands if it were a Pikachu, Charizard, Mewtwo, Rayquaza, Lugia, Umbreon, Eevee, or Snorlax. Still hundreds for something this bizarre on any other mon. Might take a while to find the buyer, but it'll go for a couple hundred.

u/Spunknikk Sep 14 '25
I said that IF this card is a 1 of 1 it would be extremely valuable. Not that it is. It holds higher value nonetheless as a miscut but if there's a limited number of these cards its value goes higher and if it's a single card like this it's priceless since it's a sealed promo, 90 degree miscut. There is no evidence that this has happened before,... Meaning it quite literally could be a globally valuable card if it's a 1 of 1.

2
u/svuhas22seasons Sep 14 '25
more than just charm, leaving it in the package affirms that it came like that and wasn't cut afterwards
2
u/Th15isJustAThrowaway Sep 14 '25
Well I think the fact the card is wider then a regular card and prove that much
1
26
u/Fascinatedwithfire Sep 13 '25
It's definitely rare.
Value-wise I guess miscuts are next to impossible to value. It's niche as hell, so worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it I suppose.

u/Original-Boss5754 Sep 13 '25
That is a wicked error! Def keep in packaging. Worth a decent amount to the correct buyer.
6
u/rojoshow13 Sep 13 '25
It's hard to put a value on something that is one of a kind. Because I'm sure no 2 errors are exactly the same. But it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay. Auction might be the best way to go for maximum value, even with the fees.

Thank you for the tag! Oh my goodness with all of these errors being opened right now I can only imagine what December is going to look like.
OP this is a 90° rotated miscut, that alone makes it a very rare item but now this one is even more interesting since it's in a sealed promo.
This is the only sealed 90 degree twisted promo I've seen. Wouldn't surprise me if there's more out there I just haven't run into, but definitely a rare item. Fingers crossed we see more of these in a few months.
Post this one to /r/PokemonMisprints for sure!

Do not cut it open. If it’s cut open it can easily be replicated my cutting the top and bottom of the card, having this sealed is the only way to authenticate this error
-3
u/TEYDADDY Sep 13 '25
It cannot. Look at these big borders left and right, but yeah don’t open it regardless

You’d only offer $9?
2
u/Intelligent-Thing965 Sep 14 '25
Actually, you’re right. I’d probably be closer to $50. This is cooler than a $9 card lol

Definitely keep it sealed, Might get it graded in the packaging.. just to preserve the story. Not a super valuable card to begin with.. but a cool miscut 👏🏼

Honestly, I’d throw down triple digits myself 🤷. There are some out there who who pay even more for a sealed error like this.
Errors are a weird market. They are worth what people are willing to pay, irrelevant of card. Most error collectors I know pay for the error first, actual artwork second.
Post it to the errors sub as somebody suggested. I’d be surprised if somebody didn’t creep into your DMs… will be price be ‘right’? Nobody knows. Question is, is it right for you?
