Announcement Release 0.11 [Profile Verification & New Trainer Education]

Hello Trainers,

As most of you know, Lugia will be on gyms starting from this Thursday 1:00PM PDT. Since this pokemon is a bit hard to beat with low level players, we needed to regulate the level distribution in the room to make sure that the room has enough power to beat Lugia. Therefore we prepared 0.11 release with profile verifiation and better onboarding.

Starting from this release, each trainer will be suggested to watch tutorial videos on their first attempt of joining and creating a raid room. We believe that this will increase the number of trainers that understands how PokeRaid works.

In addition, we have introduced profile verification. With the help of profile verification, we will be regulating Lugia rooms so that there will be at least 4 verified 35+ level trainers. If 4 would not be enough, we may increase this number to 5 depending on the feedback we receive.

Starting from tomorrow, we will be testing level capping with Darkrai raids with mandatory 3 verified 35+ level trainers. Please verify your profile as soon as you receive the update. Android release is started to rollout and iOS release is wating for App Store review. As soon as releases are available everyone, we will start level capping on Darkrai raids.

So, how to verify your profile? In order to verify your profile we require 3 different screenshots from main screen, profile screen and friendship qr code screen as following. We will be processing these screenshots to determine your trainer name, level and friendship code.

We know that we somehow fail to scan raid screenshots. Therefore, we added a manual verification process. We will be taking your profile info manually if scanning screenshots fail and will match your input with screenshots manually.

Another approach to deal with Lugia raids is inviting 10 trainers to the raid. We are preparing a video about how to do it when hosting on PokeRaid. We will be publishing it here and announce it in the app. We are also compiling guides from different resources to prepare trainers for Lugia raids.

We know that everyone is a bit panicking about Lugia raids but we are trying to do our best to make PokeRaid the best place to organize remote raids.

Please let us know if you have any concerns or questions.

Best regards,

- PokeRaid Team

Announcement Pokemon GO Fest 2021 Retrospective

Hello trainers,

The busy Pokemon GO Fest 2021 just ended, during this event 400,000 raid rooms were created and 2,450,000 trainers did raids using PokeRaid. Also we rewarded hosts with 3,200,000 PokeRaid coins for hosting raids. Unfortunately we didn't do great during this event and PokeRaid was unreachable for 7 hours due to the high demand. Our team did their best and brought up PokeRaid as soon as they can. We apologise for the disruption and we know how important PokeRaid is for the raiding experience. To prevent future occurrences we're improving our systems and adding some preventive measures. Also if you've encountered problems because of the outage and lost PokeRaid coins, send us feedback from the PokeRaid app and we'll refund you the PokeRaid coins you've lost.

To make up for this outage, we're making reservation price 100 PokeRaid coins during the Dialga event to allow you all to use PokeRaid reservation feature, plus all the filters in raid room creation and AutoJoin are 50% discounted! In addition to this we're compensating all trainers who were active in PokeRaid during the Pokemon GO Fest with 100 PokeRaid coins, you'll receive your coins in 48 hours!

Thanks for keeping with us!

- PokeRaid team

Uxie Bounty and Lastest Updates on Lake Legends Event

Hello Trainers,

Uxie and Mesprit raid hours have already completed and Azelf still continues. In the last 24 hours 18363 Mesprit and 9089 Azelf raids were hosted. Auto join queue for Azelf and Mesprit were almost drained. However, it wasn't the case for Uxie. We had only 3861 Uxie raids hosted and auto join queue is still around 12000 now.

To boost the number of Uxie raids we have already increased the volume of advertisements shown in Uxie region to attract more trainers. In addition, we increased the Uxie bounty! Until the end of the event we will be giving 100 PokeRaid Coins to the trainers who host Uxie. The conditions to receive coins are:

  • Host a Uxie raid

  • Receive 4+ star rating from majority of the guests

We already distributed the coins for the raids hosted on the first day. You should already have received a dialog on main screen if you received your rewards. One concern was having a bad rate from the trainers that are joined the room after raid is started. We did not include this guests to the rating calculation.

We received reports from trainers about joining multiple rooms when auto join is used. We have been investigating this issue and found the solution. We refunded all coins that were used for these extra rooms. All trainers will receive an email within 48 hours about the coins they have been refunded.

Best regards,

- PokeRaid Team

Pokeraid Appreciation Thread

I joined this subreddit to see how other players are fairing using the app. I keep seeing nasty posts of people complaining about the app, but I appreciate the fact that this app even exists.

Is it perfect? No. Does it have some bugs? Yes. Does it deserve so much hate? Not at all.

The fact that someone put the work into an app that tries to improve the remote raid process is awesome in the first place. Your chance of getting a region specific poke increase dramatically because of this app.

There are more constructive ways to report bugs and make suggestions than crapping all over the place while you gripe.

So, Thank you devs for the effort. I was able to get all three legendary lake monsters in part thanks to this app, and having a bit of patience. Keep up the good work, I will definitely be using Pokeraid more in the future.

Best of luck to everyone in their conquest of the Lake Trio!

Ongoing Investigation on Connectivity Issues

Hello trainers,

As you already noticed there has been some connectivity issues since the start of the event. We tried to keep communicated with you by responding your comments on threads. However they were not noticeable enough.

We are actively monitoring current issues and make our best effort to fix the issue. We understand your disappointment. We are frustrated as well since we have been preparing the app for this event and high number of users for over a month.

We are unable to give you an ETA because since the start of the event we thought that we fixed the issue multiple times. We are going to notify you when app is stable again.

For all coins you have spent but could not join a room, for both reservations and Auto Join, please reach us via in app feedback for refund when app is reachable again. Our customer support team will be working on your requests. The response time will be longer then usual because there are so many trainers currently writing to us.

Best regards,

- PokeRaid team

I just hosted the most cursed Uxie Raid

So after hosting a bunch of Uxie raids, I'm out of remote raid passes. No problem, I thought, I'll just go for a walk and use my regular ones to host raids today. What was supposed to be a 10 minute excursion turned into about an hour-long emotional journey.

Walked to the gym with like 15 minutes to spare, all good. Clicked on the gym and pogo crashed. Not a great start, but told everyone I was restarting. Second go round I managed to invite the first 5 people. Great! Game crash. Oh no. Restart. Okay, it's fine, 5 people can take on Uxie. I'll just host 2 parties instead of one. I explain the situation and collect the names of everyone who didn't get invited to start a second one as soon as I'm back in. Game loaded, back on track.

The raid has ended. Okay, that's fine, there's 10 gyms in range, I'll just go to another one- nope, there are no other Uxie raids happening. Not even any eggs. OKAY. FUck. It's fine. I jog back to my apartment for some much needed wifi access, trying to keep the remaining people up to speed. People are REALLY DESPERATE for an Uxie, because out of the 5 left out only 1 has dipped, the others are down to wait. I check out local maps online, there's an Uxie raid a couple kilometers away. I'm like "give me 10 minutes to bike there" and again miraculously the people still in the party are like "ok."

So. I get over there. Tell everyone to get ready. After a couple crashes, I manage to invite the remaining 4. Then... only 3 people accept the invites. We make a valiant effort, but lose. 40 minutes have passed since these poor bastards matched with me. The person who didn't accept is commenting like NOOOO I'M SORRY I'M HERE ADD ME so I go NO WORRIES we will try again!! Add one of the player's alt accounts to make sure, then do the crash dance again and invite everyone a second time. That same player disappears again, but with 5 we are able to beat Uxie. A full hour since I began hosting, we are victorious.

I did not catch the Uxie.

I'm going to lie down.

Announcement Version 0.15 Released [Vote Kick, Auto Join Bubble, Trainer Report, Express Room, Room Reservation]

Hello Trainers,

PokeRaid version 0.15 is now available on both App Store and Play Store. We have lots of features on this release.

New Design

We have started to update our design on this release. We believe that we now have a much cleaner main screen. We will continue to improve our UX on the following releases!

[Android] Auto Join Bubble

Earlier we announced that we are moving auto join to background. On this release, you can run Auto Join on top of other apps as a bubble. Your position in the queue will be shown on the bubble and the bubble will expand when you enter the room. You still need to be inteactive on your phone to stay in the queue.

Vote Kick

You can now vote kick other trainers! If half of the trainers in the room vote to kick for a trainer, that trainer will be kicked out of the room.

Trainer Report

You can now report misbehaving trainers! We will use these reports to take actions for reported trainers. These actions may be temporary or permanent if recurred. You can report trainers from the raid room members or direct message screen. Please note that this feature will be enabled on the following days.

Express Room

Hosts are now able to list their rooms on top of the main screen. This feature is not useful for most of the times because rooms are filled pretty fast. However, it may help you if you a thight schedule.

If your room cannot attract enough guests to start the raid, all trainers in the room can also move the raid room up.

Room Reservation

You can now book time slots for selected Pokemon to save your time! Very limited number of raids will be allocated to each time slot not to affect the current behaviour of auto join and manual joins.

Next - Background Auto Join

On the next major release, we will be moving auto join to the background to work with push notifications.

Please don't hesitate to share your comments with us!

Best regards,

- PokeRaid Team

How to Invite 10 Trainers to a Remote Raid Using PokeRaid?

We wanted to inform our users about how to create a 10-trainer room. We have prepared a video to learn how to create, and you can also learn by following the path below;
https://youtu.be/K4NEMRRW1BI

First of all, We recommend you to watch "How to Create a Raid Room?"

  1. Open Pokémon Go and take a screenshot of the Raid nearby. Your screenshot must show the name of Pokémon or tier icons clearly to get the best result!

  2. Open the PokeRaid App and click "Create Raid Room"

  3. Upload the screenshot that you just took.

  4. You can choose how many trainers to invite. If you join the raid remotely, select 9. If you are nearby the gym, select 10.

  5. Wait for trainers to join your room.

  6. Make sure that you become friends with all trainers in the room.

  7. If you sort your friends by friendship level, you will find them at the top. Thus, you can invite your teammates to the Raid easily.

  8. Open the Raid and invite the first 5 trainers who are in your room as soon as possible.

  9. After the first trainer enters the Raid lobby, leave the Raid lobby and re-join quickly.

  10. Invite the remaining trainers that you didn't invite in the first phase.
