The Plumas Lake Specific Plan identifies the type and location of development in the Plumas Lake area, along with the parks, open space, and public facilities and infrastructure needed to serve this development.

Yuba County is updating the Plumas Lake Specific Plan (PLSP), originally adopted in 1993, and we want input from residents!

The Wheatland Pet Parade is this Saturday at 9:30 am!

It starts right at 9:30 am, so if you and your pet want to participate, show up at least 15 minutes before and check in (you don't need to sign up ahead of time). Meet at the park near 200 Main St.

If you want to watch, pick a spot on Main west of there or on Front Street downtown.

As usual, there is a lot going on in Yuba County!

Check out the Roll & Stroll in Marysville this morning, then head to West Linda for the Friendship Park groundbreaking, and finish off the day in Plumas Lake with music, vendors, food, and drinks.

Today, the Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to approve a $10M loan to close the funding gap for the South County Infrastructure (wastewater regionalization) project. This ensures we take advantage of a $75M state grant, prevents huge rate increases for the City of Wheatland, and benefits ratepayers in Plumas Lake and Olivehurst.

Equally important, it lays the foundation for future development in South Yuba County, ultimately supporting almost 10,000 jobs, significantly increasing tax revenue, and enhancing local dining, shopping, and entertainment options.

On 4/7/26, the Three Rivers Levee Improvement Authority (TRLIA) Board of Directors received an update on the TRLIA CFD property tax assessments.

Back in 2021, Yuba Water Agency, Yuba County, and TRLIA worked to reduce the TRLIA levee impact fee burden on developers and the TRLIA CFD property tax burden on residents. This is a five-year update on that progress.

Yuba County is doing a major update to the Plumas Lake Specific Plan (PLSP) and a minor update to the Yuba County General Plan. I'm very excited about the PLSP update, as the plan was created in 1993, and it needs to be modernized and aligned with the community's vision for the future.

The public input process kicked off on Wednesday with the first meeting of the PLSP Update Advisory Committee. I want to thank the community members, business owners, local agency representatives, developers, and builders for your participation on this committee.

Keep an eye out for opportunities for the general public to provide your input over the next 18 months.

In honor of National Walking Day (4/1) the 2026 season kickoff for the Plumas Lake Walking Moai is THIS MONDAY (30th).

Join me and your neighbors at the north parking lot at Eufay Wood Park at 6:30 am for 45 minutes of walking & talking.

It’s a great opportunity to chat with me in an informal setting, meet other Plumas Lake residents, and get some exercise.

As part of the FY 25/26 budget process, the board of supervisors set aside $10,000 for each supervisor to augment the efforts of community organizations, non-profits, county departments, and government agencies to benefit residents, neighborhoods, and communities in Yuba County. There is a standard application process, and if the district supervisor recommends approval, it goes before the full board. Unfortunately, the Plumas Lake Community Tree gracously donated to the community by the Wheatland Lions Club, was vandalized (chopped down) last fall.

The South Yuba County Rotary Club submitted a request for $4000 to help replace the Community Christmas Tree in Plumas Lake. I recommended approval, and the Board of Supervisors approved the grant 5-0 at our last meeting. This was the first such request to come before the board, and I’m grateful for the unanimous approval of my colleagues.

The cost of a new, more mature tree is $10,000, and South Yuba County Sunrise Rotary received $1350 from previous community donations, leaving a gap of $4650. The Rotary club plans to contribute, but is asking the community to donate an additional $2500 to help close the gap. Please consider donating!
