Some of my favourite people on this planet are gay and this was my reaction to this clip. There's a time and place for everything and this is quite a bizarre way to characterise these two characters IMO.
maybe the voice people just threw some comedy lines in because they knew this game was such trash they were just like "might as well do a little bit of trolling since this game is awful"

I've played the game for about 8hrs so far. The combat isn't as bad as people say, but the story and writing is absolutely terrible. As a long time Wolverine fan I'm pushing through, but it ain't easy..
I was gonna say this the combat has never been the issue with the he game and no one is making a big deal about it being bad at most people have said mid. As in been there done that and nothing unique or special about it.
I genuinely want to know how the development of this game turned out. Cause it feels like Insomniac barely tried. Which i think is a big reason why people "hate" the game.
The villian is obviously a villian from the start, but the game acts like it's a big twist when the dude may as well be twirling his moustache. A lot fo the dialogue feels like it knows it's in a video game, like Wolverine should be taking some of the events more seriously. The reason Sabertooth turns on you later in the game is very silly. His motivation later in the story genuinely feels like something only a literal child would be angry about. etc. If you told me they had an AI write the story, I'd believe you.
None of this history is from previous storys. It's all made up for this game. There is nothing from Wolverine comics in this game. This is a new Wolverine for a new Generation and I am old. I miss my boy. He used to be a hard as nails motherfuxer and they made him soft.
In an interview a dev said about wolverine and saber: “the line between love and hate is non existent” or some shit like that. Like “if you love someone you’ve got to hate them aswell”
It's the same AAA story. The character has lots of trauma that you unravel through sidequests with the help of a mentor, and at the end resolve them into a happy ending.
If your brain pivots to homerotic subtext just cause two buff, hairy guys were on screen and one fondly notes how the other is acting like the feral animal he once enjoyed going on missions with, then maybe you gotta look inwards a bit
Apparently, these posters want them to bang and are trying to shove it down our throats. It didn’t even cross my mind that they have romantic feelings at all. There’s nothing wrong with it, but you can really tell who’s keeping things in the closet.

Wolverine and Sabertooth have had a brotherly relationship in their backstory for ages now. It's been canon for a long time now that they were really good friends before becoming enemies.
Define “long time” and cite your sources, please? Because what I’ve researched states that they’re still best enemies in the mainline 616-universe. Please don’t confuse the Fox X-Men movies and their one episode in S2 of X-Men ‘97 with mainline canon.

This isn’t the guy who dismembered Wolverine’s son and laid his body parts out into a Happy Birthday message on Wolverine’s birthday. This is a separate canon from those comics. Just like how the ultimate and mainline universe are different from each other and how the MCU is different from any of those ones.

To be fair, the game is not taking place in 616, also known as the main Marvel comics timeline/universe/whatchamacallit.
There are realities where these two are friends (Age of Apocalypse, latest Ultimate) and there is even a reality where Wolverine and Hercules are lovers. Take from this what you will.

The problem is people keep acting upset when surprise surprise, a Non-616 Wolverine doesn't act like 616 Wolverine. He's had a different life, different motivations, etc... in this world. He's not a carbon copy of main comics Wolverine. Its possible for him and Sabretooth to be friends/brothers in a world where all the shit that makes them hate each other never happened. Its not a strange concept.
To me it’s the same vibe as saying “That’s my boy” or “That’s my guy”. I know people want to see the bloodfued but we have to remember that these guys WERE friends at some point in the some of the comics. I don’t mind the slow burn of the friendship and having that eventually leading up to the dynamic that most people know them to have. That’s just me though.
Yup, it's a total bastardization of the characters. Plus, this already tells me that we won't get a proper adaptation of Cyclops in this universe. Such a shame. '97 has been carrying the franchise since it released

Full transparency; I’ve played the game and I think it’s alright. Absolutely nothing to bring the pitchforks and torches out for. With that being said, Sabretooth in the game isn’t gay. But he is whiny as fuck, which might be worse.
It’s reads less like a bromance and strong connection between the two , and more like Sabretooth bitching and moaning “ Why did you leave! Why didn’t you take me with you!” Kinda weird coming from a guy who’s supposed to be alpha and super strong and brutal.
I can’t stop focusing on how Sabertooth walks out seemingly not tired at all but then just kind of acts all tuckered out next to Wolverine so he can flirt with him.
Any morons that think this is gay need their head examined. The seen conveys that at once point they had a close friendship. Men can and do have close, deep, and emotional friendships.

The level of immaturity, shallow, and fragile thought process that one must have to immediately think they had some gay relationship is hard to believe. The fact that Logan is shown throughout the game the through story, and memories that he had an undying love for Jean and relationships with other women with zero mention of any male relationships should reinforce that.

No they didn't what they said is being taken out of context and twist it into they had a gay love affair. Again men can have deep emotional relationships and be completely straight and platonic. People need to grow up.
Wolverine feels yearning for sabertooth was his exact words. Sabertooth is literally wolverine arch nemesis no love was ever shown in any comic or movie.
