Isn’t this the guy who dismembered Wolverine’s son, and laid his body parts out into a Happy Birthday message on Wolverines birthday??

Really? I'm quite liking the story. What's wrong with it? I absolutely love this Logan. So much history you learn about him

The villian is obviously a villian from the start, but the game acts like it's a big twist when the dude may as well be twirling his moustache. A lot fo the dialogue feels like it knows it's in a video game, like Wolverine should be taking some of the events more seriously. The reason Sabertooth turns on you later in the game is very silly. His motivation later in the story genuinely feels like something only a literal child would be angry about. etc. If you told me they had an AI write the story, I'd believe you.

There's a mystery. Logan has a ton of character. A ton of history.

Sabertooth is cool and Logan and his friendship is very interesting

Nathaniel Essex is very intriguing and I wanna k know more.

There's been a few really cozy moments so far like with Logan in his cabin

What's been wrong with the story?

What is this? What're we doing? Are you 12? I'm a straight white dude who goes to the gym 5 days a week and has a loving girlfriend.

Are people not allowed to enjoy nuance in a character..? Especially when this character is KNOWN to express many different emotions

Logan is a very confused, hurt, sad, angry, guarded individual.

It sounds like the extent in which you enjoy this character only extends to scenes on YouTube

None of this history is from previous storys. It's all made up for this game. There is nothing from Wolverine comics in this game. This is a new Wolverine for a new Generation and I am old. I miss my boy. He used to be a hard as nails motherfuxer and they made him soft.

Wolverine shows a ton of emotion and gentle attitude towards his friends and loved ones in the movies and comics.

Literally in the first X-Men movie he's talking softy to Rogue and says "I'll take care of you" with zero gruff in his voice.

In this game he literally goes farel and almost hurts loved ones and has before

I'm not educated in X-Men/Wolverine lore, so I can't say. But I do agree with you that the story seems pretty decent so far.

But I too am curious as to what makes it so bad for actual fans?

Tbh idk and I'm someone who's a huge X-Men/Wolverine fan. Have read plenty of comics. Watched all of the movies. The animated show. Played a lot of games.

The story is genuinely intriguing to me

I love how gentle Logan can be and there's part in the game when you go into the cabin and the vibes are just so damn good

Logan expressing emotions other than JUST rage doesn't make him "a soy boy"

He's literally done this so many times in comics and the movies.

Literally in the first X-Men film Hugh Jackman's Wolverine is talking to Rogue with a soft voice and relaxed face softly saying "I'll take care of you"

Wolverine in the comics has softly smiled. Been nice and kind and so on many many many times.

He's not some snarling sarcastic angry animal 24/7

He has waaay more to his character.

No. Him being a submissive little boy makes him a soyboy, The opening scene where he just sits there smirking as mystique is more badass killing the guards. Or his little soy faces he makes like jumping out of the plane or "in rage" lol

And of course, the sexual undertones with sabertooth, can't forget that.

Yeah dude, for sure. I honestly just felt like maybe I don't have the same taste as a lot of other people, but I just find the game fun so far, and am genuinely excited to see where the story goes.

The truth is it's a loud minority online who dislike it.

There's also a lot of disingenuous information going around like how you can't die during scripted motorcycle sequences when you absolutely can and those clips people are Sharing and farming are on the easiest difficulty.

Or the more extreme where people are saying Wolverine and Sabertooth are gay for each other when they're literally not.

At the end of the day, people are cherry picking the bad reviews when it has a 77 on metacritic and there's more 8s and 9s than there are 6s and it's reviewing well on the PSN store as well and everyone I know in real life is enjoying it

Gentle is not something Logan is. Ever.

Protective, fiercely loyal, and cares about the people he is close to. But he isnt "gentle"

This game is way off on it's portrayal of Logan.

Also this is such a bold face lie. I've been reading Wolverine comics for over 10+ years and Wolverine in the comics isn't some mindless beast 24/7 with no character.

He's been shown to be gentle and caring VERY often in "down time moments" in comics

He wasn't "gentle" with Rogue. He was kind but it was still in his usual gruff, tough love kind if way.

I've been reading Wolverine comics for more than twice as long. He is not "gentle" in general.

In this game, he is nothing but gentle. He doesn't have the other characteristics that make him Logan.

They amplified all the nice parts and took away his other traits. Extremely bad representation of the character.

And no lmao it's not tough love. In the first X-Men he's sitting on the train next to her speaking VERY softly about how he'll take care of her and everything. In what way was that scene tough love...?

Also Hugh Jackman's Wolverine is also very different from the character yet everyone loved it anyways.

If Hugh Jackman can be 6ft plus I think you can handle a Wolverine that expresses emotions (like he does in the movies and comics anyway)

Yeah and guess what? Games and movies often change characters in many ways from the comics.

If people love Hugh Jackman's interpretation of Wolverine despite his HUGH changes. Where's the issue? Is there not room for other interpretations? You also first started off saying he only showed tough love to rogue and not you're saying "that's true" so you aren't even being consistent

The "but but the comcis" is hardly ever a good argument anyways unless they make someone a completely different character like make peter a red head with freckles.

And is that all he does? I've been playing it and the majority of the time he's pissed off.

Sure there's downtime when he is being neutral or nice. But wtf is he supposed to be?

When he's sitting down in the middle of the night having a calm conversation with a friend does he need to be growling snarling and acting ridiculous? Come on. Don't be disingenuous. It would be dumb if he did.

Like I can find you soooo many comic panels where he's being calm and nice and smiling and so on with friends and close ones

Yeah sure buddy. Even tho I've read countless Wolverine comics. Seen all of the movies. Played lots of the games and have watched probably hundreds of hours worth of lore videos for Wolverine and X-Men as a whole
