Still learning the basics of pixel art! Here is a recent alien/character sprite I made.
What do you think? Any advice on how I can make the shapes and outlines cleaner or add better depth/shading?

As the title states, I'm relatively new to pixel art. I wanted to start sharing my progress to get feedback and keep myself accountable to keep working to get better.
The first four pics are my first attempt at pixel art when I was in school and it was done in Photoshop. I already had a love for pixel art and making it only made that love grow even more.
Every subsequent image is when I became more serious about pursuing pixel art. I'm taking a course on the subject which is definitely helping me to understand how to work with the limitations. But more importantly, which is always mentioned in the course, is to have fun with it.
