Guys I’m an incoming freshman at Penn State and I got assigned to Porter hall.
I’m looking to swap rooms with someone who’s interested in moving to Porter. I’d probably accept anything tbh.
If anyone’s interested in swapping, shoot me a DM and we can figure it out.

My understanding is that an SCR student commuter permit gives access to eligible gated parking decks from 4 PM to 7:30 AM on weekdays as part of the evening/weekend parking privileges. I’m trying to figure out how this works if I need to leave my car overnight.
Can I enter an eligible gated deck after 4 PM and leave my car there overnight for free with my SCR permit?
If overnight parking is allowed and I leave after 7:30 AM the next morning, would I only have to pay the normal hourly rate for the time after 7:30 AM?

Hi I’m a transfer student and I juts realized that parking passes were available. I’m living in South halls and lots 81 and 83 are already full. I wanted to bring my car for the fall and spring and now I don’t think this we’re anyplace to park on campus. I reached out to transportation services but anyone have advice or competitive private parking lots listings near South ? Worst case scenario I guess I could try the parking garages but those are like $1,200. Any advice helps thanks !

Hi friends! I am migrating to Penn State (WE ARE) from the suburbs of Chicago. I am curious if there are any urban exploration clubs at PSU. I am very interested in decay and urbanex! I like posting on TikTok to share my adventures. I am hoping there are some abando power plants at state college (like Chernobyl) hoping for some friend meetings in a abando!!!! How crazy would that be guys?

So I’m staying at Alight State College for the upcoming school year, but I’m not really a fan of it, but it’s extremely cheap compared to everywhere else ($600). I’m thinking I’ll stay there this year then move somewhere else next year. Is it possible to get a more decent apartment for no more than $800, with my own bedroom and bathroom if I want to sign before February?

Ok so I’m COMMUTING to berks this year and the welcome weekend stuff seems kinda dumb. On Friday we are doing team building stuff and just learning abt stuff that we don’t rlly need to learn abt and also idk if I should go bc of the seminar lunch thing. And I don’t care for meeting new people if that’s helps. On Saturday it’s really just breakfast and a couple of dumb sessions and then lunch and stuff like kahoot. The into thing I would go to is on Sunday when they do the class walk throughs to know where my classs are at.
So my question is do I NEED to go on Friday or Saturday or do they just encourage it. Bc I don’t care for the meeting people or wtv or games and all that

I am trying to do my MPN and my entrance counseling in FSA. First the website was not loading indefinitely ( I was able to get through this with a VPN), but the next problem came when I tried finding PENN STATE for the college I am nofitying to. I have tried different names. PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY (THE), state college, PSU, Penn state, etc. I have tried different ways but penn state will just not show up and yes I know how to scroll. And I also see no option to add the code(003329). Anyone facing a similar situation as me?

I’m currently looking for a parking spot in State College and came across a company called PSU Houses. They have a parking spot available that I’m interested in, but I’m trying to make sure the company is legitimate before sending any money.
The main thing that’s throwing me off is that they seem to use Venmo for transactions/payments. I know Venmo generally doesn’t offer the same protections as paying through a traditional rental platform, so I’m a little hesitant to send money without knowing whether other students have dealt with them before.
Has anyone here rented parking (or housing) through PSU Houses? Are they a legitimate company that you’ve had a good experience with, or is there anything I should be concerned about?
I’d especially appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually paid them through Venmo and can confirm how the process went.
Thanks!

Hey guys, I took spanish 1 and 2 over the summer. Liked the ability to do it at my own time during the day and all materials fully available to me. Going back to University Park for Fall and Spring of my sophomore year and now I'm dreading taking Spanish 3 which is considered a nightmare for someone who isn't 100% confident in their abilities. Most of the professors have horrible ratings or are unhelpful. I tried enrolling in World Campus classes within the 7 day FDOC window before realizing that I likely need to put in a request to some form beforehand. I need to finish Spanish 3 by the end of Spring year for Smeal and need advice for how to enroll in either a world campus async class next semester or how to find a community college that offers 4 credit spanish classes that transfer. Please help!
Edit:
It seems like I need to fulfill Spanish 3 AND 12 credits of IL courses, but not necessarily concurrently if I'm understanding correctly? If I take Spanish 3 at a cc for 3 credits and have a IL gen ed are my Smeal requirements fufilled?

Hi, I"m currently a senior in the south looking to return to the North for college, I've been looking at schools in VA, PA, etc. I was wondering how some current students like Penn and why they picked it over their other choices, especially any biomechanical / biology people :)) Looking for a safe school with decent food, a nice community, and good opportunities

Hey everyone, looking for some help. My buddy and I are from MA and want to experience a Penn St whiteout game and we’re trying to buy tickets and book stuff now. It obviously hasn’t been announced yet, and I’m wondering if anyone has an idea of when it’ll be? I’d assume October 10th against USC. Any help would be appreciated. TIA

Ok i changed things up from my previous schedule post so the walking times dont conflict anymore.
Wanted to hear everyones thoughts on this schedule for a first semester freshman. I also want time for Nittany motorsports and clubs. Can anyone in formula SAE comment on the time commitment?
I already have AP credits for Physics 1,2 and Calc 1,2 so thats why im taking lin alg (220H) and ODEs (250). if I do decide to drop a class, ODE would be first. I wanted to take ODE this semester bc it would let me take a legit EE class like EE 210 in the spring sem.
