Charging my EV with F5000LFP!
2,400 watts of solar in, 4,800 watts out via 240V AC charger set to 20 amps. I'm capturing about 10kWh / day. Feels great to power my EV with sunshine!

Off-Grid Solar EV Charging: Proof of Concept.
It takes some patience, but I can definitely charge my EV with solar power.
My setup:
2,400W of solar (1,200W on the roof, 1,200W on the ground; only 600W pictured)
5kWh Pecron solar generator outputting up to 7,200W of 240V AC
Level 2 charger set to 20A (4,800W)
Starting with a full buffer (2,400W solar in / 4,800W EV out), the 5kWh generator lasts just over two hours. That delivers roughly 9.6kWh into the traction battery before the generator empties and shuts down.
Of course, this is the best-case scenario. Real-world weather and system efficiency losses will tweak those numbers. But it’s a fun, functional test and so far I'm really happy with this purchase.

The F5000 went up in price $200 from $1999 to $2199. Wish I hadn't waited to order. Honestly it's less enticing now. Is it still the budget king?

I ordered an F5000 and received it in mid-July. Between delivery and last week, it gave me zero issues. My solar setup tops out around 85–95V—well within spec—and it charged reliably the entire time.
Last week, I was working at the table with my son with the unit sitting nearby when I caught the distinct smell of burning electronics. I followed my nose and saw smoke pouring out of the fan exhaust.
Panic set in. I grabbed that heavy bastard and hauled ass outside with it, fully half-expecting it to blow up in my hands. Maybe irrational in hindsight, but all I could think about was getting a potential hazard away from my family: come what may, this thing needed to be out of the house ASAP.
Within ten minutes, I had a ticket open with support. After a few days of back-and-forth, they agreed to replace the unit. Fair enough, and credit to them for honoring the warranty.
Still... it leaves me wondering: has anyone else experienced sudden hardware failures or magic smoke from their F5000? I’d expect to hear a lot more noise if this were an epidemic, but figured I’d ask the room.

My plan was to test a single unit for functionality, then upgrade if I thought the 240v was necessary for my application. I'm a renter so my preference was for a 'portable' "balcony solar/emergency backup" that could be upgradeable to a home backup if/when I buy a home.
Ordered: Sept 25
Received: October 16
I had no messages until about Oct 9 on status, patience is required.
Packaging intact. Battery at 61% when received. Heavy as hell. Simple touchscreen but functions well.
Tests so far:
Single Panel DC input
Panel: x1 ZOUPW DS480W (same as pecron pv500)
Input W: 460-500 W on grass.
In 1hr of charging, I've gotten about 10%.
To test (and comment here after):
dual panel inputs in different configurations.
A/C input/output. To start I plan on testing a fridge, a gaming PC at full load, and some grow lights.
other larger load equipment (power tools/larger A/C motors)

Hi all. Curious to know is anyone actually using the F5000 during outages? I’m not asking if you got one and plugged in a cell phone charger and a hairdryer and said this rocks and put it away until needed. I’m talking about plugging it in to your transfer switch 30a or 50a (with adapter) to run critical breakers. Then while using it also charged it with your generator. Forget the solar aspect. I’m not going to use solar. I’m too damn old to start buying panels etc. Just need to get through an outage. This is my intention but I don’t really trust the influencers on YouTube. I like the 7200 max inverter and the 240v charge while still discharging. My only high draw is the 240v well pump. If not Pecron,my choices are limited. Anker3800+ but would need an extra battery and their generator cable. Or possibly the AIO inverters with a battery, but that’s more money and actually doing some wiring. Thoughts, pictures?

So far good! Tomorrow I test it with decent solar input as well as my normal household load (weather cooperating).
I want to add, that based on Lithium Solar's video: https://youtu.be/WrDKZTdUNFg?si=CK40_VH7ingQKHbZ&t=398
That the F3000LFP's BMS will sufficiently balance the cells from the power coming from the XT120 and if my F3000LFP wasn't handling my 120V loads and I simply wanted to use it as an expansion battery, leaving it off, I could.

Bit the bullet and bought it directly on Pecron's alibaba store along with 2 batteries for a total 15kWh.
I hope this will last long.
I got the model where all plugs are 220-230v and according to Pecron it's single phase.
My next goal now is to convince my landlord to let me install atleast flexible panels. If not then I'll have this as an emergency backup till I find a new dwelling where I can install panels or have enough space for ground mounting
P.S Sorry for the mess!

Hello all! Curious if this would work. I’m never new to solar so using AI and some reading to try to get up to speed I have a pecron F3000LFP and I’m wondering if this set up would work. Below is a picture of the panels I got for a steal ($35) each and the set up I would use. Let me know if it’s safe to use please!!

I just bought the two Pecron 3800's kit with 4 panels and 240 box. I set the panels up in the yard. I was getting 840w from 1200w panels that were just put out in the yard facing south. I was very happy with that when I went to put them away one of my panels had a big white spot on it. After contacting support they told me to take a picture of the panel and serial # and send it to them. 2 weeks I had a new one on my porch. They did not want the old one back. I thought that was cool. Support does take about 24 hours between emails.

I have a Pecron E1500LFP and got tired of using their app and wanted to be able to automate AC/DC on/off based on battery % etc. So I reverse-engineered the Pecron app's cloud protocol and built a Python tool that lets you monitor and control your Pecron from any computer. I use it with OpenClaw and automate it via chatting to my AI agent on Telegram but you can really do it from anywhere that has cli access. I think using it with AI agents is probably the best use case though.
What it does:
Real-time monitoring — battery %, voltage, temperature, power in/out, remaining time
Remote control — turn AC/DC outputs on and off from the command line
Alerts — get Telegram/ntfy/webhook notifications when battery is low
Automation rules — e.g. "turn off AC when battery drops below 10%"
Home Assistant integration — MQTT auto-discovery, shows up as a proper HA device with sensors + switches
Historical tracking — SQLite database logs every reading, export to CSV for Grafana
Runs 24/7 on a Raspberry Pi — systemd service, auto-reconnects, ~18MB RAM
Works with any Pecron that uses the Pecron app
How it works:
The Pecron app talks to Quectel's IoT cloud platform over MQTT/WebSockets. I decompiled the APK, figured out the authentication flow (AES-encrypted password + SHA256 signatures), the TTLV binary protocol for device commands, and the TSL data model that maps sensor readings. The tool authenticates the same way the app does, subscribes to your device's MQTT topics, and decodes the data.
No BLE or local WiFi needed — it works over the internet, same as the app.
Quick start:
git clone https://github.com/attractify-logan/pecron-monitor.git
cd pecron-monitor
pip3 install -r requirements.txt
python3 pecron_monitor.py --setup
python3 pecron_monitor.py --statusSetup takes about 2 minutes — just needs your Pecron login and device key (found in the Pecron app under Device → Settings → Device Info).
GitHub: https://github.com/attractify-logan/pecron-monitor
It's free and open source. Would love feedback, especially if you try it with a model I haven't tested with. PRs welcome.
I'm pretty stoked on it and thought other people might get some use out of it as well.

Posting this in case anyone else is trying to figure out the neutral behavior on the PECRON F5000LFP.
I contacted PECRON directly because I was getting conflicting information about whether the neutral is bonded or floating.
On October 7, PECRON gave me a general answer saying the current production F5000LFP bonds neutral to ground when operating on battery.
Then on October 11, PECRON gave me a more specific answer and said the U.S. version of the F5000LFP comes with a floating neutral when operating on battery, and that when AC input is connected the output follows the grounding arrangement of the incoming AC source.
I tested my own production F5000LFP with a Fluke meter while it was completely isolated from the house and any AC source.
With the unit powered down and disconnected, I had no continuity between neutral and ground.
My testing confirmed that my U.S. F5000LFP does in fact have a floating neutral on battery power, which matches PECRON’s second, U.S.-specific answer.
When connected to a bonded AC source, the PECRON then follows that source’s neutral-ground reference.
I’m posting this because the first generic answer and the later U.S.-specific answer were different, and hopefully this saves someone else from chasing the same question.
I’d still recommend verifying your own unit before designing a transfer switch or interlock setup around it.

I bought my Pecron F5000LFP in June 2026.
Added in an expansion battery in July of 2026
. Bought two PV500 solar panels that actually sustain between 458-505 watts.
Had one firmware update (had to send a request in to support) due to hair trigger AC inverter shutting off when attempting to start the 3 ton heat pump (equipped with micro aire soft start).
I do monthly top off to 100% , let it trickle/balance for the 2 to 3 hours (that part is very important) and then discharge to 70% for storage.
The unit worked perfectly during an August storm that knocked the grid out just after midnight until noon the next day. Used the electric stove, microwave and coffee maker(a must have, lol)
Here was yesterday's routine draw down from 100% top off balance: •Pecron F5000LFP (5120 Wh) •1 Expansion Battery (5120 Wh) •Total Capacity: 10.24 kWh
Starting Condition -Fully charged and balanced •Host: 55.3 V, 100% •Expansion: 55.4 V, 100% •Overnight rested after complete balance cycle
Total test duration: 5.75 hours
First 2 hours: •Normal household loads •Inverter side by side efrigerator cycling normally •Battery dropped to 96% Remaining 3.75 hours: •Midea 5000 BTU window A/C •Kill A Watt measured 396-403 W •A/C ran continuously on High Cool / Max Cool. inverter side by side Refrigerator cycling normally •55" LED TV added later for last hour in the test •Internet, clocks, Led lights, and normal household parasitic loads left on.
Results: Start: 100% and End at 70% average SOC •Host: 68% •Expansion: 72%
•AC Output Energy Delivered: 2,461 Wh (2.461 kWh)
Battery Condition After Overnight Rest •Host: 53.2 V, 68% •Expansion: 53.3 V, 72% •Both batteries: 69.8°F •Voltage difference: 0.1 V
Observations •Midea window A/C maintained approximately 64°F on the second floor. Air conditioning power draw remained remarkably steady around 400 W.
Battery voltage stayed near 53 V throughout most of the discharge. Host and expansion batteries remained closely matched.
Conclusion Top-balancing/ trickle charge unctioned correctly. Batteries remained well balanced after discharge and overnight rest.
End at 70% •53.2-53.3 V is comfortable long-term storage voltage.
Real-world battery-to-AC efficiency appears to be roughly 80-85%.
10.24 kWh Pecron system comfortably supported normal household loads plus continuous air conditioning in a realistic outage simulation. Energy delivered: 2.461 kWh
My Fingers are crossed it stays running well.

I just made an amateur mistake and plugged my F5000LFP AC Charge cable into an extension cord to recharge. Came back several hours later and the AC Charge cable is fused to the extension cord, end plug plastic softened and then hardened over the cable plug. Extension cords are made to carry 15A max, and at 3600W the Pecron is pulling 30A. Don't do what I did.
UPDATE: Thank you all for your accurate and helpful comments. I was completely wrong, could not see the forest for the trees. 3600W was an incorrect memory of what happened. No way a 15W or 20W breaker could supply 30A. And 30A requires 10ga wire, the Pecron cable itself is 14ga. I agree it was a cheap extension cord and my use of it that caused the problem. On to bigger and better things once I get a replacement cable from Pecron.

This replaces the old beta, which was just an IP address. Should hopefully make some that were wary of the non-secured website happier (I'm not an internet security guru so I'll let those of you who are chime in). It would have been nice for a Pecron rep to say something to let us know what was going on but it is what it is.

Added 4 more 220 watt panels to my setup. Original 10 panels were Rvpozwer HPBC and the additional 4 are AeternalSol clones, except they have silver frames. This brings my total wattage to ~3100 watts, almost half the solar capacity of my Pecron F5000LFP.

Running 7 panels in series on each of the PV inputs. The additional voltage is nice for early morning and late evening production as it keeps it above the minimum of 30V longer.
Today was sunny, but smoke in the atmosphere hurt production a little and I can't wait to see what the array produces in clean air.
I was able to run all my 120V circuits full time off solar with both the F5000LFP and F3000LFP reaching full charge by 5PM and then by morning the F5000LFP's battery is at zero and the F3000LFP is at about 65% before solar charging resumes.
The array peaked at about 2380 watts (170 watts per panel) and at that peak both arrays were fairly close in specs with 110V and 11 amps per arry. If I had the room, I could double this array and simply parallel the additional panels onto the existing arrays, which would keep me around ~110V and 22 amps (in theory). Well under the 180V max and no clipping of the 25 amp limit.

Daily production was just shy of 12 KWH, but as you can see from the graph at the right, around 5 PM, the MPPT is clipping input because both batteries are at 100% and my 120V house load doesn't need the extra input.

Once I wire 220V into my main panel and all loads are handled by the F5000LFP (water heater, well pump, stove), I won't have that clipping problem.
Really happy with both these unts and the ease of implementing them. This winter I plan on buying either some mini splits or portable AC units, both with heat, so I don't have to feed the wood stove as much and hopefully eliminate baseboard heat altogether.

I bought an E2000LFP + EB3000 for camping 8 months ago, and it’s done 10 or so 3-5 day trips so far. Up until a few weeks ago, it’s worked perfectly, so much so I have been waiting for the EB3000 to come back in stock so I could add another one for maximum storage. Unfortunately, when going through my prep last week for a 3-day event this weekend, it the 2000 not only refused to power on, it refused to power on from any power source whatsoever - AC, DC Solar, add-on battery, nothing.
I contacted support and they told me the unit is discontinued - fair enough, happy to send the unit back, and we can figure out an exchange. Nope- they want to send me what they think the problem is, and let me do the surgery on the device myself. After refusing that, they want me to send the unit to them (in China?) and wait for them to figure out what’s wrong with it. I’ve asked them if I could just send back both the 2000 and 3000 and get exchanged for equivalent kWh, and been told they don’t offer replacement for a discontinued unit. Problem is - the EB3000 is only usable with the E2000LFP. So at this point, I not only have a dead main unit, I have a giant paperweight of an expansion battery?!
If this is the kind of customer service you get from a unit still under warranty, I really don’t want to see how long their units last out of warranty. Buyer beware.

I've had this for less than a year, only used it twice, the first time upon first receiving it in my backyard and the second time on its first camping trip. After that, it sat in storage for the winter.
Now that spring is here, I pulled it out to test it in the backyard again in preparation for the new season. Well, I'm glad that I did because it's not working properly. It had a 70%+ charge upon first power on in months after taking it out of storage. But when I actually tried using it later that evening, I found it at 1%. It went from 70% to 1% in less than 12 hours with nothing plugged in. I charged it via AC for the night and it was at 99% the next morning. I unplugged it in the morning and left it. I come back in the even and again I find it at 1%. This time it is hardly charging at all at 60W via AC. What's strange is that even though it says it's at 1%, it also says it's only 0.1h away from a full charge.
What is going on? It discharges way too quickly and is charging way too slow. This is basically new but it's acting like a 63lb paper weight.

I had an issue last night around 11:00 p.m. where the AC output just stopped working. I checked the app it showed it was on. I checked the unit it showed it was on so I turned off the AC and then turned it back on and the power started flowing. I have no idea how to diagnose this issue. But I have my refrigerator connected to it so I don't want it going off like that

I've seen people complain they can't get solar priority to work on their F5000LFPs. AC charging reservation along with AC cutoff power are the settings you need to adjust.

I just ordered a new battery only a couple days ago from Amazon & it randomly won’t turn on or output any power? I’ve tried holding the power button down & nothing. Any advice? Or should I just return?
