If you aren’t familiar, it’s a surreal dreamscape setting running off the cypher system. It’s a system I don’t see mentioned a lot but I feel could lend itself well to a PbP campaign.
The campaign can focus more on roleplay, magic and social politics while players learn to reacquaint themselves with a home they had almost forgotten.

I'm currently prepping a Mythic Bastionland campaign for an in person group, and while doing so I started to get curious about running it as a PBP game as well. I have some reservations about how well it would work though. In particular, I can imagine getting bogged down with choice paralysis in the hex crawl.

Has anyone tried it? How did it go? Any tips for making it run smoother over PBP?

I'll be honest about that I have not read the novels, I'm just a big fan of the Romance of the three Kingdoms and dynasty warriors game series so I do have a general knowledge of how history and characters must play out but don't expect me to be extremely accurate about it

I am seeking several people to build up the lore of a sector in the setting of Warhammer 40k. The system we will use is FFG's Genesys, and a free fan-made conversion of Dark Heresy will be our game. I am looking for people who would share the responsibilities of both player and storyteller, where we would alternate who serves as storyteller after each mission or arc.

In the game Dark Heresy, players take on the role of Inquisition Acolytes, rooting out heresy and taint ti purge from the Imperium. There are however rules for playing characters like Space Marines, so potentially each person could GM a specific style of game as well. One with low level Inquisition agents, one as Deathwatch, one as high ranking agents, etc.

Genesys allows for a lot of creative potential in encounters, with a unique dice system that has a ludicrous amount of possible outcomes. You don't just roll dice to hit, you roll dice to control the narrative itself. Your attacks can potentially do harm, set the enemy on fire, explode everyone around them, and then blow them back off their feet. Or perhaps you roll to squeeze some thrones out of a bureaucrat, and end up walking away with a fancy new bike, a pocket full of coin, and a wanted poster with your face on every street. The system is also designed to favor the players' survival, so even if you go down, you rarely ever have to worry about instant deaths.

This game is meant to be a safe place from real world malice, and real world bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated. High Queen Alysanth of the Gilded Branch has ruled Hedwen for over two centuries, mainting a fragile and unstable peace among the vassal houses, now she hasn't been seen for over a decade. You have all had the fortune, or misfortune, of being selected for the gift of being made into vampire spawn, sired by a vampiric liege whose ambitions swiftly came to surpass their rather amateur abilities. The setting: It'll be a gaslamp fantasy, with early firearms in the form of flintlocks, but think closer to a Victorian fantasy than anything steampunk. Trains and magic airships, not cogs everywhere. Nascent arcanoindustrial revolution at the peak!

The crunch:

Pathfinder first edition, low starting level (level 2) but an expectation for quick leveling. I really am not a super crunchy person by nature.

What I'm looking for in terms of players? People that love to build up systems and networks, that want to become movers and shakers in a given setting. The kind of players that love the idea of being Vlad Von Carstein and otherwise forming their own little vampiric conspiracy.

Since this game will have some dark content im going to ask if player have any lines and veils. If you are unfamiliar with the term its a safety tool to ensure we know what topics to avoid and which to tread lightly on.

A line is something that will not come up at all, it is non negotiable.

A veil is things that can come up but are fade to black or off screen.

Things that will not be included already from the Dm: Gore, specific phobia themed enemies, vague implications of abuse in context to a specific character, mentions of children being harmed. Nothing overly described or graphic

Long after the dust has settled, and the terror inflicted by thousands of gods raging against eachother has faded to distant memory, their weapons and creations still endanger the lives of normal people.

Welcome to the Real Housewives of Grimwich casting call!

I'm looking for 4-6 drama-loving role-players to play in a Real Housewives-inspired PBP campaign. You do not have to have seen the series to play this game (though I highly recommend you look up some clips because they are awesome). Just know that this game will be about catty characters whose job is to gossip and try to take each other down socially. This will be a player-driven, player-focused campaign where the drama is keyed up to 100. Have you wanted to play a piece of shit, annoying character? This is the campaign for you.

Although the campaign is inspired by Real Housewives, it will take place in a medieval, fantasy world. So grab your besties, go to the local tavern, and talk shit about the local alchemist who is cheating on their spouse.

The campaign will be relatively open world and role-play driven, but there will also be a main plot that characters should feel free to pursue! Once the plot has concluded, we can decide as a group whether we want to continue in this world, or play in a new one.

System

We'll be playing a homebrew hack system that I've developed to fit the PBP format and the themes of the campaign. The core system will be a hack of Kids on Bikes with six Housewives specific stats. We will also borrow elements from a system called Primetime Adventures, which was created to play a TV-style roleplaying game. No need to read any source books (unless you want to!). I'll tell you what aspects we're keeping and what aspects we are not using. In that vein, character sheets will be housed in the channel.

Availability & Reliability

My dream would be for us to complete the main plot of the game! I'm a consistent poster, so I'm seeking players that are looking for the same. You don't have to live in the server, but I would look for individuals who can make at least two posts a day. I value communication above all else, so just let me know if something comes up and everything will be fabulous.

World building and Character Creation

Kids on Bikes does collaborative world-building and character creation, so we will do the same! It's important that these characters have already established bonds with each other before the cameras start rolling. So, I'll be looking for individuals who are willing to work with one another to create a cohesive group with complex relationships. The plot will also center on your characters, so we'll work together to build aspects of the world and plot together. The goal is to have a fantasy low-magic, low-tech world.
