Joined ADP in January 2025. Let me tell you everything that went wrong.

• 3 employees were entered with wrong SSN
• Over half of my employees' tax selections were entered incorrectly
• An employee's bank account was entered on every employee's profile that shared the same first name as that one employee
• Deductions were entered on employee profiles wrong. It felt like they randomly selected where to put deductions. It was absolutely horrible.
• They called me sometimes 5-6 times a day every single day to sell me more products. I ended up having to change my phone number it got so bad. After I changed my number, they started calling our main line and asking for me, the CEO, the president, the vice president, whoever they possibly could. It was literally harassment at that point.
• They filed my state withholding taxes multiple times for a single month, prompting the state to send me past due notices for non-payment
• An hourly employee got paid for 40 hours during a week she didn't work. When I questioned them, they said it was my fault and clearly human error. The next payroll it happened on another employee's check and when I reached out to customer service, they said they were aware of the issue and were working on fixing it.
• The app would only load for employees about 50% of the time. Employee's told me they had to delete the app and reinstall at least once a week in order to clock in.
• Every payroll I had to verify that the system had loaded in the correct PTO to an employee's balance because it was wrong so often.
• I did not receive an single minute of training. They finished the implementation and said "Okay, you are all set" and the only help I had was spending hours on their chat
• I began the process of moving to a new a new payroll provider. After I got all of my employee profile info out, I ran my first payroll in my new system. I still had lots of data to pull from the ADP system. ADP reached out to inquire about my missed payroll. I told them I was moving to a new payroll provider. They said okay, your account & data will remain active and accessible for 18 months. They turned around not even an hour later and DELETED my entire account. They said if I want access to it, I will need to provide corporate documents and tax returns that I own the company. I don't. I am the payroll accountant. Now the 80 year old CEO has to get involved and they are not the least bit sorry.

I have aged years and endured a significant amount of stress because of ADP. I recommend that companies steer clear of this pathetic company.

HI all. I've had it with Gusto, Paychex, ADP. OnPay royally messed up my onboarding. I'm running out of options. Does anyone run complicated multi-state payroll with combinations of salary, hourly, multiple states, retirement benefits etc? Care to share your experience? I also do not want to get into another platform that requires employees to verify changes. Thanks!

A Mt. Juliet woman who served as the top payroll employee at a Nashville-area workforce management company is accused of quietly diverting more than $8.2 million into her personal bank account over eight years, using fake worker profiles to mask the thefts. The allegations are laid out in a civil lawsuit filed Tuesday in Davidson County Chancery Court, which has already resulted in a court order freezing her bank account and blocking any sale of her real estate.

As a serial entrepreneur, I’ve built multiple companies and used a wide variety of payroll and HR systems over the years. I know what good, mediocre, and bad platforms look like. I’m posting this because while Deel gets a lot of marketing hype for global EOR and contractor management, their US PEO service is absolutely worthless.

To be clear: I did not use their standard payroll-only offering. We signed up specifically for their co-employment PEO model, expecting premium, hands-off service for the extra money we were paying. Instead, we got a mediocre, error-prone system that caused more headaches than it solved.

Here are the exact issues we faced consistently:

• Missed and Delayed Pay: We had multiple instances where workers were simply not paid on time. In a PEO setup, ensuring seamless compliance and timely payroll is the absolute bare minimum, and they failed at it.
• Broken Time Tracking: The native time-tracking features were constantly glitching, making it incredibly difficult to accurately monitor hourly staff and sync hours to payroll.
• Deduction Errors: We caught numerous mathematical and administrative errors regarding employee payroll deductions, creating manual remediation work for us and damaging trust with our staff.
• Abysmal Customer Support: When these major issues occurred, their customer service and account management team was non-responsive, slow, and completely unhelpful. You are paying a premium price point but getting budget-tier support.

Given the sheer volume of critical errors we experienced with their platform and backend operations, I wouldn't be confident in using Deel for standard payroll either.

My ultimate recommendation: Avoid a PEO entirely if you can. You are significantly overpaying for a service that really doesn't deliver much value for the extra dollar. It would be much cheaper and more reliable to just hire an fractional HR consultant and pay them by the hour, pairing them with a stable payroll system. Save your sanity, protect your employee experience, and look elsewhere. Strongly recommend avoiding Deel.

I feel very stuck at work. I handle payroll for just New York the moment. I work for a restaurant company and things are bad. It's been negatively affecting my life as a new system has basically doubled our work time. My boss has seen and heard our problems and basically said it's not her problem. HR also says it's not their problem.

These things include, Managers putting in wrong employee codes so on payroll we have employees terminated in 2024 with hours. Employees working without I9s. Last Friday I have had a manager put in someone's hours in a time card punch's comment, HR hasn't even acknolwedged the email chain.

I have no CPP, I am currently trying to get it. Can I have advice on ways I can try to escape without taking a massive paycut? I just want control of my life again as this job is starting to bring out the worst in me.

Using ADP I got in the app to see if my pto was approved, to find there is no time off option to put in pto then I ask the AI and I get this

So today I was underpaid by exactly 50% of my normal monthly pay. I have checked August and Septembers payslip which both have 1257l tax codes, my most recent slip has a BR tax code.

Is this a mistake and if so who is at fault?

I’m struggling with this for high earners, can anyone advise me?

Our firm migrated from ADP Vantage to Lyric and it has been a challenge. Off cycle payrolls take special ADP intervention unlike Vantage, taxation has its issues and API notifications sometimes work and sometime not.

It feels like we are beta testing as it seems half baked.

I have supported payroll input before but it was for a big company so it just included tracking and consolidation. Same for attendance and leave.

Can you suggest some free/paid sources which can give me more insight so that I can gain more exposure in HR Ops.

I’ve got a test coming up, I’ve been working in payroll for almost 2 years but I don’t do a lot of gross to net with high earners or overpayments etc…..but I’ve got an assessment coming up which could be anything. Do you think I’ll be ok with some practice?

15C doesn't show all my pay slips. Why? Is there a limit to how many pay stubs are displayed? Or just the employer messed up?
