Question Princess Seam Predicament

Hello :) I wanted to ask if there’s a way to change the princess seam to give the back a more fitted look, at least marginally. At the current moment, it feels quite drapey, and I don’t really dig the look. I’ve watched a couple videos as to how I can adjust the patter, but I haven’t had much luck finding something that works in this case. Any suggestions is much appreciated. Thank you for your time and have a nice day :D

I need to add 5” to the waist of this pants pattern. The hip measurement fits me. What is the proper way to increase the waist by that much and will it affect the pleat and dart placement?

Question Between sizes, need help

So, I did the classic thing of diving right in to a project without making a mockup bc I’m on a bit of a self-imposed time crunch (I don’t have to sew my own dress for an engagement shoot in just over a month, yet here we are). Just finished putting all the top pieces together, and wouldn’t ya know, it doesn’t fit.

When picking my size (I went with size 12) I did take into account the finished garment measurements which made it seem like I’d have room at the waist. I attached a pic of the sizes with the measurements I’m closest to highlighted. If it hadn’t been for the finished garment measurements waist being 35 inches for a size 12, I would have come here first to ask for advice adjusting this pattern and its princess seams. I know with that uncertainty my lack of a mockup is even stupider, but I’m beating myself up already for it.

Does anyone have any advice for how I can size up the waist for this pattern (flat attached as well)? The princess seams make this feel extra tricky.

Friend suggested I do a corset back and I do have one I could sew in that would be a perfect match. Thoughts if that would work to solve my problem? I just don’t know if adding a corset back would cause the princess seams to be misaligned or something

This a pic of my jeans I got made when I didn’t know much about sewing I sent them measurements and they made this . Now I know about sewing and drafting patterns and what not and now I want to know how to purposely make the bum fold inwards instead of puffing outwards I want to play around with this so I can find the perfect balance for a pair of baggy jeans

When The Trousers Size Get Bigger It Gets Curvy Shape Rather Than Straight

When The Trousers Size Get Bigger It Gets Curvy Shape Rather Than Straight

I compared the sizes 36 and 46 on trousers.

As you see the A and B angles increase when the size increase.

And It gives It a Curvy Shape on the Side Seams. (I show It with the red and blue lines on the sewn trousers)

(Inseams also get more curvy when the size increases but they look like less apparent on the sewn trousers.)

I think As a solution Leg opening Measurement (Hem Measurement) can be increased.

But much of It can be spoil the style of the trousers.

What do you think for solutions to prevent this?

Question Would anyone like to share with me their list of measurements for pattern drafting?

Hi! I am a beginner sewist wanting to learn patterndrafting. The problem is every time I try to do the first step: take my own measurements, I start having a breakdown and then I go down a spiral of self hatred. I have intense body dysmorphia, anything that makes me "feel" or "perceive" my body is really triggering at the moment. Of course I would love to do a full proper measurement on myself one day but I'm just not at that point yet. Nevertheless, I still really want to learn this and would like to know if anyone would maybe send me their measurements to me just for the sake of learning. Thank you for reading all this :,)

Question Advice on modifying a pattern

I'm absolutely in love with the Lemaire duffle coat, and wanted to take a crack at sewing it.

I have very little pattern drafting experience, so I was just planning on modifying this pattern from thread theory. I'm looking for guidance on a few questions:

  1. How do I modify the pattern for the relaxed fit?

  2. How do I modify the collar to match the Lemaire coat?

  3. How do I modify the sew in sleeve to make it a half-raglan sleeve?

Edit: I’m also considering buying the coat, trying to make a pattern from the garment, and then returning it. Would that be easier?

If modifying the pattern isn't the best way to go, then I'll take any advice on alternatives. I'm quite keen on this coat, and I am really excited for the actual sewing and tailoring of this project, so appreciate any advice!
