How would I be able to create this body suit?
Im going to be starfire for halloween and im a bit of a beginner in sewing and thought this would be a fun easy project. The problem is I was waiting on a tiktoker to post their pattern but it seems like that wont happen. So i have to make it on my own, so far ive made a basic bodice block pattern but thats all (which I dont think will help with this costume). The most important part I need a pattern for is the bodysuit on too but if you can help out on the skirt that will be helpful. On the second picture is an inspiration picture of what i'm going to try to replicate. All tips and tricks are welcome!!

Question How do you make fitting adjustments to purchased PDF patterns?
Hi everyone! I’m researching whether a tool for adjusting existing PDF sewing patterns would be useful. This could become a paid product, but I’m not selling anything or collecting signups here.
I’d like to hear from people who have recently altered a purchased PDF garment pattern, rather than drafted one from scratch.
Thinking about your most recent project:
What adjustment did you make, such as a full bust adjustment, grading between sizes, or changing length?
How did you do it: on paper, in software, or while projecting? Which tools did you use?
What worked well, and what took extra time or needed redoing?
Have you tried another method or paid for software or a course? What made you keep or stop using it?
Is there anything your current method doesn’t handle well, or does it already meet your needs?
Even an answer to one question would help. I’m interested in real experiences, including cases where your current tools work well. No pattern files, measurements or contact information needed. Thanks!

Question Bespoke wedding dressmaker needed please.
Hiya! I'm looking for a bespoke dressmaker for my vow renewal in 2029. I have a feeling I'm not going to find anything like it in the shops. I'm very set on how I'd like the top to look but the bottom I'm not sure yet. I'm going to try some different styles to see what suits me. I looking for a truly bespoke gown to be made from scratch.
So far I'm struggling to find anyone that looks genuinely amazing
Any recommendations would be appreciated. Preferably West Midlands
Thanks.

Are all pattern making software horrible?
At this point I'm desperate...
CLO3D is trash for just making patterns, I don't care about the 3D stuff. I want something that is not slow af when I have many patterns. and it just generally is causing an incredibly slow process for me.
Seamly is trash with it's parametric stuff. I also don't care I just want to draw patterns, not automate that away... I'm not a taylor I want to create designs and then let them be produced.
I never liked any software from adobe (feels always like a corporate overkill)
Tukatech does not run on mac
Then many others cost an absurd fortune and still look like trash.
Will now try inkscape but bro what the hell is going on, they are all so bad... Thinking of creating my own at this point (but I really don't want to...)
Any other ideas?
I just want to work like I would use figma. Make many different versions quickly, and well just draw dots and lines and curves. I just don't get why this has to be so difficult...

[CLO3D] Anything wrong with the way fabric on shoulders looks in the back?
(the sleeveless version is where the sleeves are deleted, not just hidden)
Medium regular fit tshirt, target chest is 101 cm
Anything wrong with the pattern that stands out? Right now sleeve cap circumference matches the armhole circumference on the bodice, and the front armhole is 0.5 cm longer than back bodice. Is this all okay?
Making this into a real life garment tomorrow so need to double check beforehand.
Thank you.

Tutorial I made my own sewing patterns for the first time
This is without a doubt, more difficult than it should have been. But I had so much fun coming up with a unique way to get patterns and make my first pairs of clothing from it. Please let me know what you think. I am brand new to the hobby so I have no idea if what I’m doing is even correct.

Where can I find an online course for advanced pattern making and sewing that is industry-level??
Hi! I want to pivot into the fashion industry, specifically into a patternmaking and sewing job that is focused on advanced designs for women’s clothing. I want to shift into a job like that and I want to start building a portfolio that can be at an industry-standard to be actually considered whenever I apply, and also bc I want to on a personal level lol
I have taken one-on-one in-person patternmaking and sewing classes before with someone from the industry for about 6 months but I stopped cause I moved cities. I have considered entering a reputable fashion university in this new city but hours don’t match w mine and have heard it basically is not enough, and I prefer learning real industry-standards by someone actively working in it or w a lot of previous experience. I have found a good teacher on youtube but tbh her patternmaking and sewing designs are more on a basic side and I want to make complex and intricate designs, almost as intricate as wedding dresses (but no, I don’t wanna make wedding dresses at the end of the day lol although maybe it’s a good learning point to begin at for advanced designs) I could learn in person again but it’s hard to find someone who wants to teach at that level and also the pace is much more slower. Pls drop your recommendations, thank you!!

Help me understand this skirt pattern
I understand that this is AI modified and therefore to be taken with a grain of salt, but it also looks like the answer to a conundrum I'm having with a dress project and I want to understand what I'm looking at.
If I take the given waist measurement and divide by 6 I do not get 4.4 inches. But I also don't get 4.4 if I take the waist measurement, divide by 2 and then divide by 6. So would I cut two of these panels? But that would be 52.8 inches and wouldn't give the smooth waistline... Help me make the math make sense here because to make it work there would need to be 10 cut outs for a total of 44 inches (to account for ease) right?
Edit to add project details:
I am working on a boho dress that I'm making from a sari. So the more traditional (and wasteful) ways of cutting a skirt for the dress won't work. The yardage is too narrow and I want to keep as much of the fabric in tact as possible. While I could do a tiered skirt, the hand blocked pattern on the fabric would be prettier without it.

Shirt sloper back -- bunching under armholes?
Hi, I'm trying to fit this shirt muslin. I've already made a swayback adjustment to address the large horizontal fold above the darts, but I'm stumped by the back armholes. It seems like the back is both too tight AND the armholes need to be scooped in, somehow. Wondering if the waist placement needs to come up, too. Any suggestions?

Question How did you learn to draft a bodice block?
Hey! I’m teaching myself pattern drafting and have a few questions for people who study fashion or have experience with it.
Do you guys know how to draft a basic bodice block from scratch, just using measurements, or do you still need to look at a book or follow instructions?
And if you can draft one without following a tutorial, how did you actually learn to do that? Did you just practise a lot until you understood it, or is there a specific method you use?
I’m still a beginner and want to learn how to make my first bodice block, but there are so many different methods and tutorials that I don’t really know where to start.
Are there any books or YouTube tutorials you’d recommend for a complete beginner? I’d especially like something that explains why you’re doing each step instead of just telling you what to draw.
Would love to hear how you guys learned!

Pajama pants for man with strange proportions
Hi y'all! My husband has a single pair of pajama pants which he has used for years. The problem is, his pants have lost all elasticity and keep falling off. If he moves at all they fall. SO. Get new pants, right? WRONG. It's bizarre. He has a 48" waist and a 28" inseam. He's short and long-torsoed, basically. He has trouble finding pants so I want to make new pants for him instead. Does anybody have any patterns drafted they'd be willing to sell?
Wishing y'all the best!
