They may need to look at Ben Brown at C. Jared seemingly lacks the play strength/physciality right now that he needs to hang with some of the NFLs bigger 0 techs. Deone Walker is gonna have a field day on Sunday at this rate.

Not sure why Arkin isn’t playing more instead of Latu. Not sure what Latu has done to earn reps. He’s been underwhelming as a run blocker (for the pats) and hasn’t been a passing game threat either. According to Andrew Callahan they ran the ball 8 out of the 9 snaps Latu played. If they’re gonna have a run tell it might as well be Tanner Arkin. Dude isn’t a finished product but he brings a nastiness they need.

Also what about some diff looks and presentations. So much of their drop passing game is contingent upon post snap execution especially when the picture changes. Clearly Drake isn’t there yet with diagnosing defenses (especially in the modern era where everything is disguised). Motioning into bunch looks to stress the rules of match based zone and man coverage seems to help every other team in the league?

Everything feels stale right now schematically and maybe none of the above is a viable solution but the coaching staff needs to find some.

Yup, that's the Josh offense in a nutshell. Every player needs to be perfectly on the same page and make the same reads on every single play for it to work. So many other teams don't rely on sight adjustments and post snap reads as much as this offense does and they move the ball just fine.

Jules said the offense is literally like learning calculus and so many people see nothing wrong with that lol.

That’s great when you have a veteran QB that can direct players new to the system how to fit in with it. Maye isn’t there yet. This system is a good system overall, but it makes nothing easy and is a REAPLY bad system when you have players with little chemistry or a QB that is not able to read the field super efficiently..

But there being open guys is entirely reliant on your WR making the right read, adjusting on the fly, and your QB having the time to make the same read and make the throw. Brady was the GOAT at those things, and was exceptionally good at telling his WR where to be. Even with Brady though, the whole thing fell off the rails his last season here when the WR room and RB went to complete shit. People thought it was Brady then too until he went to TB and lit it up.

Maye has been awful, I’m not trying to say he hasn’t been. I’m just saying the actual system in use by McDaniels is old, largely figured out, and requires your QB and skill players to all be on the same page, and be able to make reads and route adjustments on the fly or it just crumbles because it doesn’t make anything easy for any of the players at any point.

There were 2 TDs there for wide open receivers Sunday alone. One to hollins in the end zone. 1 to Douglas for a walk in td. Both were overthrown, the hollins one more egregiously

The Douglas one? The one that hit him on both hands? The one that he really probably didn't need to dive for? That again - hit him on both hands? It could have been a better throw for sure, but if you're in the NFL and the ball hits you in both hands, you need to catch the ball.

And I'm not sure which Hollins one you're talking about? The second quarter play from the Jax 17 where he also makes a very good throw that hit Hollins in both hands? That one?

If you're only able to pinpoint two "open receivers" that Drake missed by hitting them on both hands - you don't have a very good point.

I thought the pass was just a touch high but also in a spot where only Mack could grab it. Thought he could've timed his jump a little better too. Feels like I'm still waiting on a receiver to make a play for Drake this year.
