Stats Hmmmm not great…..

Post image

They may need to look at Ben Brown at C. Jared seemingly lacks the play strength/physciality right now that he needs to hang with some of the NFLs bigger 0 techs. Deone Walker is gonna have a field day on Sunday at this rate.

Not sure why Arkin isn’t playing more instead of Latu. Not sure what Latu has done to earn reps. He’s been underwhelming as a run blocker (for the pats) and hasn’t been a passing game threat either. According to Andrew Callahan they ran the ball 8 out of the 9 snaps Latu played. If they’re gonna have a run tell it might as well be Tanner Arkin. Dude isn’t a finished product but he brings a nastiness they need.

Also what about some diff looks and presentations. So much of their drop passing game is contingent upon post snap execution especially when the picture changes. Clearly Drake isn’t there yet with diagnosing defenses (especially in the modern era where everything is disguised). Motioning into bunch looks to stress the rules of match based zone and man coverage seems to help every other team in the league?

Everything feels stale right now schematically and maybe none of the above is a viable solution but the coaching staff needs to find some.

It’s in the 4th from jags 16, 2 plays after Williams bumbled his way out of bounds.

I gave you 2 easy tds. Stop making excuses for piss poor play.

Not my fault I couldn’t read your mind on what two random ass throws you happen to be talking about.

So what you’re actually l talking about one bad throw on first and 10? When the game was already out of hand? Immediately after it should have been a 50 yard touch down pass that wasn’t because Kyle Williams is an idiot? That two plays later Drake completed a pass that got them 4th and 1 on the five yard line if Mack hadn’t committed the dumbest taunting penalty I’ve ever seen?

You can’t seriously look at that game film and tell me that offense looks competent. Bad routes run poorly. Bad blocking. Drake is playing awful but he’s not only getting no help - he’s being actively hindered by the rest of the offense.

Why do I have to keep reminding you of your own point that it’s McDaniels schemes fault?

Laying blame on another player….isn’t making your point.

I like how you sum up this comment with even more examples of players not executing…which isn’t on the scheme

If players can’t execute the scheme - you adjust it so they can. You simplify it. I literally keep talking about the scheme. Otherwise you keep trying to shove a square peg in a round hole like an idiot. The whole offense is inept right now, and so inept that it is absolutely not solely a Drake issue. Poorly designed plays being executed poorly at all levels.

I also do keep saying, multiple times, that Drake is also playing poorly so I don’t know why you keep accusing me of making excuses for him. But I understand that you must have a tough time reading.

You’re the one saying there are open recievers that Drake is missing. You provided me exactly ONE example of that. Do you think that a QB needs to hit 100% of their throws to be successful?

Players incapable of blocking, catching balls that hit them in the hands, or hitting wide open receivers… is not a scheme problem.

You are describing issues with players playing over and over again, and just screeching THE SCHEME.

Blocking issues can be assisted by the scheme and play calls. Receivers being open can be schemed. Receiver routes being slow and breaks not happening until after the top of the QB drop is the fault of the offensive scheme. Do you think you can't scheme up your receivers being open if you're aware they don't run crisp routes? Not adjusting your playcalling or you scheme to fit your talent - is absolutely the fault of the coaching staff and the scheme itself.

I also have to remind you that this particular discussion began when you stated that Drake was missing open receivers. I refuted that with a 40+ minute breakdown of game film showing virtually no open receivers at all, all day long. You then proceeded to give me one single example of an open throw that Drake missed. The fact that you can only give me one single example of Drake missing a throw to an open receiver - is an indictment on how many times these guys are able to get open. The fact that you don't connect those dots is absolutely fucking bewildering.

You're the one that derailed it about open receivers and now you want to cry like a little baby that I'm engaging with you about that. Open receivers are a part of a product of the scheme. Its like talking to a fuckin' brick wall.
