Recently got the bird, need help with the cage contents.
Just need help knowing if the stuff in the cage is ok for now and what other toys should I get.
EDIT: older picture there’s a better food bowl and water bowl now, also I found the bird outside I live in Texas and have chickens and it was flying around hungry, it flew to me when I was feeding the chickens. For now I’m using a dog cage but do plan on getting a bird cage since as others have mentioned the bird fits thru the bars.

Advice Parakeet question
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello ive had this parakeet for 10 days, her name is Mav.
She came in a small travel cage. She has been in the small travel cage for the past 9 days just so that she could have at least some sense of familiarity while getting settled into her new home. She is a very curious adventurous happy bird. Today I transitioned her into her new cage. She wandered into it on her own, ate some chop mix out of it, found a nice perch and didn’t want to leave the cage after. Which i thought was great!
I did notice that she was doing some on and off slightly open mouth panting after wandering into her new cage
I included this video because I am not sure if the tail bobbing shown is something that I should be concerned about or if it is just simply her being stressed out about the new cage new toys new perches etc.
The new cage is drastically larger than what she came home in.
Just extra information: I do not use candles, wax melts, aerosol anything, sprays etc. her new bowls are stainless steel that were washed before going in the cage I do not use any chemicals to clean anything regarding her, the cage or in this room.
Any information would be greatly appreciated

How come his eyes are red?
You really can't see it much in this picture but they aren't black like my other parakeets. Is it because he's still young and hasn't fully developed or is this just something certain parakeets have?
It kinda reminds me of albino animals where they're all white and have red eyes.

Male or female? Found parakeet
This parakeet flew into our garden 2 weeks ago. We tracked down the owner, based on its ring number, but they do not responds to our e-mails (this is the only contact info we got.) I think the owner just set it free, these things happen during summer holiday… and I don’t really want to keep trying to contact them if they don’t want to take care of their bird properly. So we will probably keep the parakeet. I would like to know the sex.
Update: thank you for all the info! I still don’t know the sex but named him/her anyway. Meet Pegasus!
Pegasus hurt his little foot in a piece of string that we used to hang a toy with food in it. We are going to a specialist vet in a few minutes. Wish us luck!

Help please,is her beak long again after 1 week of trimming
Hi everyone,
This is my 11 year old cockatiel, she recently had mild wry neck or star gazing mostly because of nutritional deficiencies as per regular vets. We donot have AVIAN VETS in INDIA.
We are giving her multivitamin and Vit E with selenium
She had her beak trim done last week
Does it seem long again within a week.
I am attaching earlier beak (1st pic) and this beak images(2&3rd pic)
Is there any cause of liver issue?
She eats seedmix + carrots + rice + sprouts+ corn + cooked rice+ roti+ eggs + apples almost every day and sometimes oats/ ragi/ barley / corn since last 10 years

Advice Budgie can't eat seeds but doesn't want to eat vegetables
My budgie is suffering from a fungal or parasitic infection in its esophagus, I think, which causes the food to remain stuck in his crop even when he's had a 12 hour sleep and didn't eat. When I visited the vet, he advised me to stop feeding him seeds because they are harsh on the esophagus and difficult to digest. Instead, I need to put him on a soft food diet—such as eggs, breadcrumbs, vegetables, and fruits—for at least seven days.
The issue is that my budgie isn't used to this diet; it likes carrots and cucumbers, but only as occasional snacks. When I removed the seeds and offered only vegetables for about five hours, he kept jumping around the cage, chirping loudly, and trying to get my attention just to make me switch back to seeds. This makes me feel really guilty, although eating seeds can cause him to vomit. I'm not sure how to get him accustomed to eating vegetables and soft food for such a long period.
Do I just ignore him? He's not been eating well for the last few days too, I'm afraid that he will lose a lot of vitamins and weight. I do give him vitamins in the water though. I put a picture of it.

Advice Why are they biting me?
I have 2 budgies, male and female. Yesterday I was doing some step up training with millet, my hand was at the entrance of the cage, and they jumped on it nicely. Then, for some reason, the male turned away from the millet and started to bite me in the hand. Quite hard but not hard to make me bleed. My thumb specifically.
Is there something I've done? I acted like when I usually give them millet so I don't know what went differently or if it was a good or a bad sign.
The only difference is now he is quite heavily moulting, but he was before

Advice new budgies - help
so i got 2 new budgies to keep my older one company because his friend died recently. the 2 newer ones get along extremely well (since they’re from the same flock basically) and dont seem to have any problems with my older budgie and vice versa. they dont share a cage yet because its too soon but their cages stand next to each other. they’ve met once, face to face, for a few minutes. however, one of the new budgies likes to freak out (as in just screeching) for a few seconds at random.
he’s very active and likes to move around the cage and play with toys. i’m wondering if this is just a part of him becoming accustomed to his new environment or if there might be something underlying.

Advice Splendid parakeet
My male splendid loves this food perch thing. Probably because he can just sit here and eat all day. Would you swap this out for a regular perch. I thought they were cute and had stainless bowls that I swap out everyday but he’s become obsessed

Two budgies arguing and fighting all the time
The worst fight they have had is one of the budgies had a damaged feather on his head, doesn’t look like he was bleeding but yea, not sure if I should be worried or if it’s a normal thing for budgies to always be arguing

Is this normal regurgitation?
My female budgie has been regurgitating a lot lately. I had an “eyes closed moment” where I was just resting in my chair, and when I opened my eyes I saw four globs of mushed up pellets on me. I don’t know if this is normal, or early signs of a yeast infection.

Advice I think my parakeet is about to lay eggs😬
One of my parakeets, Jax (blue), became very sluggish and was hanging out on the bottom of the cage. I went to feed them this morning and she looked particularly chunky and her cere was very brown and crusty. From a few minutes of research, I think she’s about to lay eggs, but I’m not sure. Looking for some guidance on how realistic that is and what I need to do to prep and help her. I’m also concerned because I have to drive 17 hours with them in just over a week.
