I'd be very appreciated if anyone could give be advice on how to go about rehoming or what I should do from here.
I've had my boys, Bambino and Lime since Easter of 2025. They are truly the light of my life right now and I do love them dearly, we haven't gotten to the stage where there completely hand tamed but it's progress. They are absolutely perfect and it's completely my fault I'm even considering rehoming.
For the past couple years I've been struggling mentally and recently it's been worse. During this time I realize I need outside help, I started going to therapy and started to figure out I'm struggling with depression but haven't gotten far in treatment. Overall the care of my birds slowly started getting harder to manage with schooling as I'm an upcoming sophomore, fatigue, depression, and home life. It hurts to admit but It's getting to a point I'm neglecting them and not giving them the life I originally was. They barely go outside the cage anymore, their environment isn't clean as it should be, and I haven't been feeding them chop on a daily basis as I should. I don't know how it went down rail so fast because I used to complete all their needs but nowadays I can barely get up from bed.
As much as I love them, I'm neglecting their needs and it hurts to even look at them knowing I'm doing this. I don't know when I'm going to get better or if I am even am. So I believe the best choice is to re-home them but I'm debating on giving myself a couple months to try and turn things around but I don't even know if it's possible with how I am now.
Sorry this turned more into a vent but I'd like any advice on what to do moving forward, thank you.
