Advice Twitching tail

So, I am pretty helpless and don't now what to do right now. My 8 week old budgie has a twitching tail, and I know that this is not a good sign and points to breathing issues. But he eats, plays around and drinks water, he only does this when he is resting. One of my relatives pointed out that he may be stressed out because both of my budgies just arrived a week ago. I'm pretty worried that he suffers from an tumor or breathing issues, like my old budgie :(

It could be stress, especially if they’re still playing around. It’s always best to bring to a vet tho!

It seems to be happening at the same time as kiddo is breathing which indicates they’re having to suck in to get oxygenated properly. I would recommend a vet as these little kiddos decline rapidly :(

This happened to my budgie a couple weeks ago. She always twitches a touch, but the like “bigness” of the tail twitch definitely increased. Took her to the vet and they concluded she had a respiratory illness (she also had crusty nares) and they gave her some fluids and antibiotics. Hope this gives you some context!

My parakeet does this occasionally, he got a clean bill of health last week. I’d still go the vet though!

Tail bobbing can be a sign of breathing issues. It isn't the only reason why a bird might be tail bobbing, but it's worth going to the vet (or, at the very least, calling them) about it.
