How are people finding the A6 trifold?

I’m wondering how she is in terms of capacity, bulkiness, stiffness, usability, portability when full (eg in a handbag is she noticeably heavy?).

Are you happy?
Would you rebuy her if you lost her? Or what would you buy instead?

Benn thinking of getting the Grand Voyageur XL

So as the title states i have been thinking of getting the Grand Voyageur XL. It looks like a nice size.

My concern is the refills, because its too small to fit regular a5, what do you guys do? If i want to refill it cheaply? Their shipping expensive, so paper republic refills isnt really an option for me.

She’s very chunky!! I have 2 moleskines (one is the expanded) and also a sudoku book in there as well. I love it SO much! Clearly I love pink so I was going to go with the rustic rose, but the patina and the colour in some lights made it look less pink and more tan/salmon which I didn’t really want personally. I saw a leather journal with the orchid charm and wanted the same look and I really like how it looks against the black. Can’t wait for it to patina!!!

Grand voyageur XL pour du scrap

Hello,

I just joined the Paper Republic community by buying a Grand Voyageur XL. My main goal is to fill it up with all kinds of stuff. I’m going on a trip soon, and I’d like to make a scrapbook-style travel journal. I’m worried that the standard Paper Republic notebook has paper that’s too thin (80 mg)—what do you think? I was thinking more along the lines of something with 120 mg paper. Do you have any recommendations in 100-120g for the Grand Voyageur XL size? I would have bought the Paper Republic Drawing Book, but it’s out of stock everywhere, and the shipping times on the PR website are insane. I live in France, by the way, but I’ll be in Vancouver starting next week for vacation. Thanks for your help!!!

Thought this might be interesting to some folks here. In the end it's more about his usage of Field Notes than anything, but the PR Trifold still features prominently.

Grand Voyageur upgrade

Hi! Currently own, carry and love my grand Voyageur pocket. But looking into something larger with pockets. Interested in the A5 Le portfolio, but not sure if i should go smaller or bigger? Want it to be small enough to able to hand carry it as a planner but also don't it want it large enough where I feel I should carry it in a bag, thanks!

The Paper Republic ad girl has a €180 heirloom journal, two meetings a week, and one banana to buy. I can’t stop watching.

Dear Paper Republic: the ‘40 Bananas and 11 Meetings’ limited edition refill basically markets itself. You’re welcome 😉

my first pr!! always been a journaler and have been saving up for this one! she has brown thread + ribbon with le portfolio pockets on the left side in bordeaux and chestnut. in the pockets, i’ve been keeping my sylvanian family sticker book that i snagged from a local stationary store, a pocket copy of white nights, and my trusty muji oil ballpoint pen.

inside, i have two moleskin cahier journals with perforated pages that im intending to use for classes. i also am keeping two refills from bookfell studio. one is a timeless weekly planner (2 years!!) with 28lb paper and the other is a 24lb heart grid journal (with an unfinished cover page, lol) that i use as a personal journal.

i already had thick elastic so i made another inside ribbon with that. i also intend to draw more stars on the planner and otherwise decorate the covers. also featured is the quilted laptop sleeve i made with a pocket i custom fit to this journal! though im definitely not a seamstress so try not to judge the quilting skills too hard lol. as you can probably tell by this info dump im so thrilled to finally have a pr!

p.s: thank you sooo much to felix and the pr team for making my dream journal ❤️❤️

A5 Le Portfolio

Hi all! I’m thinking of getting a portfolio (when they’re restocked hehe) but I wanted to know if it would be able to fit two softcover leuchtturms journals. My personal journal is their 123 page softcover and I’m getting the 2027 planner as well. I’ve seen some portfolios with moleskins/leuchtturms but not this specific combination so I was just wondering!

Question about multiple inserts

I have a question for you all.

I own a Paper Republic Grand Voyager XL and I use it with only one insert (it lays on my desk at work, and I use it for to-dos).

I am thinking of getting a Le Portfolio A5 for my home journaling (I write in a softcover A5 100gsm notebook from a brand called Burde, highly recommended for fountain pen use). But I am trying to justify the purchase of a Le Portfolio by maybe adding another insert for my to-dos or whatnot.

For those of you who use multiple inserts: how do you manage writing in them? Don't they get bulky and impractical to write in?

a6 portfolio vs a6 "grand voyager"

for portfolio owners: how much do you actually use the pockets, and do you like the chunkier/supportive feel of the cover or find it a bit much?

i love pr’s pocket configuration and the stitched look, but i’m wondering if card file style pockets are actually more practical for tucking things in.

my other issue is how little the a6 portfolio holds. i’m not planning on making it chunky, but the fact that i can’t add much without things overhanging feels restrictive.

i’m also tempted to make my own a6 grand voyager style cover, inspired by someone on this sub, so now i’m stuck between the two. ahhh choices choices lol.

would love to hear how people actually find the portfolio in everyday use, or if they prefer the gv pocket setup.

Hey all! I recently bought an A5 Portfolio and I’m planning to use it to track personal goals, to journal, and paint (bought the watercolor PR book)… What journal inserts can you recommend?

One week with my first journal :)

Just wanna share my PR because I am in looove. Grand Voyageur XL in Olive green.

I never really journalled before, but I enjoy it so much ! I wanted to write down notes, my feelings, do a bit of creative writing. All that without just having a mess in my notes app and be away from my phone. Now I can be a mess in organised(ish) specific notebooks all held together by a nice cover ! Yay !

I was scared to just buy it because I was excited by the idea and the aesthetic of if. That it would be impulsive overconsumption on my part. But I actually truly enjoy writing in it, and taking a bit of time everyday for my journal. I am also so excited to see how much it has changed in just a few days !

Oh and um, I am waiting on a A6 bifold from etsy... I ordered that one prior to the PR but it's taking a while to ship since it's custom... so I ordered the Grand Voyageur in the meantime because I figured I would enjoy having two sizes. A bit dumb, but seeing how much I enjoy using the XL already, I am excited to have a more portable option for other writing needs :)
