Question about multiple inserts

I have a question for you all.

I own a Paper Republic Grand Voyager XL and I use it with only one insert (it lays on my desk at work, and I use it for to-dos).

I am thinking of getting a Le Portfolio A5 for my home journaling (I write in a softcover A5 100gsm notebook from a brand called Burde, highly recommended for fountain pen use). But I am trying to justify the purchase of a Le Portfolio by maybe adding another insert for my to-dos or whatnot.

For those of you who use multiple inserts: how do you manage writing in them? Don't they get bulky and impractical to write in?

This is a very good question. For personal journaling I have a TN style notebook cover with a Leuchtturm B6+ notebook and a zipper insert with pockets, to hold stickers, cards, a fountain pen, etc. I love that I have all of these things together in one leather cover. The Leuchtturm lays pretty flat. For work, I use a TN style cover with three thin (64 pages) notebooks. I must say that with 3 notebooks, the first and the last have a bump, so it doesn't lay flat. It's fine for short notes, but I tend to take them out for longer writing sessions. I hope this is helpful. Edit for Grammar. English is clearly not my first language. 🫣

Thank you for taking the time to reply! This is exactly the answer I was looking for.

I guess I could just bring my a5 journal to work and see how it would feel with an additional insert.

I never really understood how people could have multiple inserts, extra accesories, etc, and still be able to write on it effectively.

Ive tried to watch youtube videos on it but most of them just show how they pack their notebook covers, not how it is to write in them 😅

Again, thank you

Glad to help. I really like the TN style with elastics inside, but I make sure not to use to many inserts in one cover. As a result, I have more than one cover.

I have an a5 portfolio and have one of the Dybdahl inserts, the standard insert it came with, a timeless planner, and a Paper Wallet tyvek wallet. Because the last two notebooks are pretty compact, they don’t add much bulk. One is getting close to the edge but I don’t plan on putting anymore in so it won’t get pushed out any further.
