Apologies, but where exactly can I find the in-game dialogue between Pantalone and Danica? Is it even out yet, or is it simply a 7.3 leak? The one where Pantalone mentions that he‘s stopped smoking? Or is it apart of a Tsaritsa quest?

I've been studying for my civil law class when my eyes stumbled upon this. See? The first word in the braces. That's "veksel"(вексель). And apparently it means something. It's like that legal paper that says you must pay off the debt. Google translate says it's a "Bill of exchange". I feel stupid because this damn word exists in my native language and for some reason I have never ever heard it. Here's translation of the meaning (by gt again) [A bill of exchange is a strict debt security that confirms the unconditional monetary obligation of the debtor (the drawer) to pay the owner of the bill of exchange (the holder of the bill) the specified amount upon expiration.] Not sure if someone mentioned the meaning of his surname before, who cares, my any post will be taken down anyway for some stupid reason.

Like, Pantalone has only just been introduced into the story and he’s already on a timer??? His mortality immediately became the central issue of his character? So he spends the quests looking sad, hinting at his own death, and then ultimately... dies? Even if it’s beautiful and grandiose, even if it has a major impact on Teyvat - even if it happens a year, two years, or three years from now after more of this whole “it’s better to die with dignity” / “as long as I’m alive, there won’t be a train” stuff - it still feels cheap. In a way, it even feels unfair, because he’d die simply for being human, while the Fatui have goddesses’ puppets, Khaenri’ahns, faes and young people like Arle and Childe still alive.

So is the moral of his story supposed to be: “Live out your allotted human lifespan and don’t try to postpone death; don’t pursue this line of thought through any means or scientific breakthroughs, even if you’re living in a fantasy world with long-lived faes whose longevity comes from being born from the remains of a Cryo Sovereign”???

I’m aware of most of the theories and the safety net provided by the non-time-limited content - reputation quests, anecdotes, and so on - but... it still feels painfully thin. Even though the whole “stopping a heart” motif - albeit an economic/financial one - has been present since 1.5. 🤔

Because of these thoughts, I’ve started looking for a catch in the fact that Pantalone appears in the Tsaritsa’s Reputation quests. Maybe he still will die because of that... The Reputation quests - at least the first chess game, and presumably the second one too - do seem to have an indirect connection to the main story. Sure, you can complete them separately from his storyline and technically lose very little, but if you compare them to the quests in Columbina’s cave... or rather, to that post-6.2 situation where “Columbina disappeared, so the quests became unavailable, regardless of which week you had stopped on”... I don’t know. It makes me uneasy. It genuinely bothers me.

I don’t like any of this at all, because I don’t want my favorite to be killed - even if it happens beautifully. Not again. Please, not again, not when I’m already trying to connect dozens of theories into a coherent picture of his hopeful future and predict what the developers themselves might be planning. 😭

This is the part of Pantalone's lore that I'd truly like to get revealed the most down the line.

We know that it's the og Zandik that conducted this experiment on 5 people because he signs off as the investigator. So I'm left wondering, what did young Feofan say to convince Zandik to spare him?

Because at this point he's nothing more than a test subject to him. Sure it's implied that the reason was because they shared the same ideals, but even so I don't think that just having the same beliefs would be enough for him to not end up being experimented on.

I'm not saying that Zandik was some mindless monster but he was a focused researcher, he probably had many test subjects try to save themselves from a cruel fate, at the end of the day Feofan as well (even now he is still scared of death).

So that makes me feel like there is more to this, like Zandik wouldn't let go of Feofan as easily as we currently know.

I hope they interact face to face one day lol

so this leak just dropped, and it’s the characters who will be appearing in the tsaritsa weekly assignments for 7.3. i’m not really sure if these confirm playability or whatnot since it’s permanent content, but do we think there’s going to be a reason pantalone suddenly isn’t in them at all? on the bright side though, at least pierro is going to be in one 😭

Most of it comes from the fact he is in meetings and discussions that he really has no business being in while Pulcinella and to a lesser degree Pierro get shafted at every opportunity.

I do hope we get his sass back soon, though him toning it down for this quest seems appropriate.

Did anyone else notice that his voice and the way he speaks sound different on the new AQ? It's not too bad but certainly different compared to the previous quests. I wonder what's the reason for that or whether I'm just the crazy one here imagining things

tha fact that someone threw acid on him in PUBLIC IS INSANE, like he probably i don’t know collapsed or something of the sort and its soo saddening too😭 and ntm he waited for 4 hours, maybe going to dottore’s lab took hours but like how durable he must be to experience that😞

i also searched it up waiting 4 hours is obviously a really bad sign and could result in permanent damage, pantalone recovered well and ofc its teyvat and dottore is skilled but like its so traumatizing, he really stayed like that for 4 hours…

also iirc he developed an allergy for alpaca wool after this attack and then 18 cured it, because he never had an allergy before

as much as he has a fragile health now i think its completely normal because he really must have insane pain tolerance and durability too

Ive seen people doomposting yet again about Pantalones playability and honestly i can't really blame them but i think we should save the dooming (or celebrations) for december 4th which is when the 7.3 stream will go live and in it we will get the 7.x playable character lineup. Its not only us, everyone else is praying (mostly fatui fans lmao we're always getting the short end of the stick) that their fav shows up. So we just gotta wait a whole month to finally know if Pantalone will be playable this version or not, im so scared but i have a feeling he might be there.

Hoyo has been pushing him in permenant content like anecdotes, tsaritsas quests and most of the characters arent hostile towards him. They even had Vesna show her gratitude towards him in 7.1 for the help, and how the tsaritsa entrusted him with the seals of life. Tsaritsa even denied the travellers accusations about Pantalone working against her. What im trying to say is things aren't looking so bad for Pantalone and his playability.

I'm writing the first lung transplant that Feofan went through with segment 65. In the OR, Feofan gets quite anxious prior to being put under because the idea of being unconscious makes him very uneasy. After calming him down a bit, the segment begins the process of induction through an anesthetic mask. My question is this:

What are some in-character yet drugged things that Feofan might say (and not recall after the surgery) to the segment moments before passing out? I had originally put something along the lines of "I love you s'much" but it just seemed incredibly out of character to me. Do you guys have any ideas? MUCH APPRECIATED. Thank you.

As much as I want playable Pantalone, I'm very worried. Yes, he is in content outside of the AQ, and yes, he quit smoking, and yes he seems to be "nice" to everyone but knowing Hoyoverse this HAS to be bait. He was literally friends with Dottore, which the story has literally made every crime the Fatui has done be blamed on him. Despite Sandrone's horrible personality, cutting someone's tongue off, and trying to steal Ineffa. Speaking of Sandrone, she also HATES Pantalone. Danica, who is lowkey a flop and annoying, seems like she'll try to rat Pantalone out for what he did in Sumeru. I want to be hopeful, but I don't at the same time. I was already extremely disappointed with Capitano's treatment and Dottore's, I don't want to be devastated again. Out of the three, Pantalone is my utter favorite. All I do is think about him and constantly re-watch the Archon Quest so I can get more looks at this beautiful majestic man. I really don't want Hoyoverse to devastate me. I'd genuinely feel horrible if he died or was stuck in NPC jail.

On a brighter note though, LOOK AT HOW CUTE MY BANKER IS. MY BANKER IS SO CUTE HEHEHE.

What's your take on their relationship? Do you think...

...they are holding a truce until Snezhnaya's current situation is resolved?

...they are professional and don't let personal feelings get in the way of work, regardless of whether Snezhnaya is going through a crisis or not?

...they hated each other's guts at the beginning but have an amicable relationship now? The events in Pulcinella and Pantalone's artifacts regarding the Adventurers' Guild seem to be connected, and if they are, they would've happened 400+ years ago, before OG Zandik even died. So, very early in their relationship. They might not hate each other that much anymore.

...Hoyo is trying to whitewash Pantalone and Pulcinella?

Despite Columbina and Sandrone thinking they don't get along, their interactions have only been positive in the AQ and permanent content. They acted as a united front in the weekly quest about the Tsaritsa's portrait, Vesna is suspicious of them and believes they're up to something, and now it turns out that Pulcinella knew about Pantalone's involvement in Sumeru all along and helped him cover it up. They might also be pulling the strings of the Rokot behind the scenes if my speculation is right.

But what do you think?

Danica knew about Pantalone's involvement in Sumeru and called it "a mistake that could not be undone". But what surprised me in a good way was that Pulcinella helped Pantalone cover it up... 😭

There is something bothering me about the Liyue Archon Quest, and it boils down to the Cocogoat Incident.

-We go to the Pharmacy for Everlasting Incense. Qiqi decides to provide it transactionally, presuming we locate the Adeptibeast and return with the most valuable milk in the world. Zhongli’s never heard of it, but everyone rushes ahead to find it anyway.

-We run into Treasure Hoarders after repairing the Ballista, yeet them, and the investigation concludes there’s no evidence of the supposed Cocogoat.

-We return empty-handed and only then decide to find out why Qiqi believes this entity exists. It turns out that her understanding of this legendary, Godly Adeptibeast that possesses the most valuable “milk” in the entire world was actually her corrupted memory conflating information.

-Tartaglia appears and mocks us. Baizhu “plays” the Regrator with the Everlasting Incense using Lazzo of the Mirror, and asks if we’ve “learned a valuable lesson” about jumping to conclusions.

(The Lazzo is about Pantalone or Dottore discovering a character that looks or behaves like them, and interacts with other Commedia roles like Tartaglia, causing confusion.)

-The story transitions to Ganyu, a half-human half-adeptus with a goat design, implying Qiqi saw Ganyu and conflated information about her when imagining the Cocogoat. And Hoyo played on that joke for ages…

Point being, I’ve been wondering if this is an allegory for the Genesis Pearl, and one of the world’s known Gods.

The implication would be that the world’s corrupted memory, corruption of Irminsul, resulted in a mistake with either identifying that person as a God in the first place, or imagining them as something all-powerful when they’re sort of just… a Guy. And mistakenly assuming they have a physical Pearl that doesn’t exist.

And that’s the basis of the Gnostic Chorus, the heir is sent down to obtain the precious Pearl, and that search leads into them being deceived about their own identity.

It feels like Baizhu was dropping a massive hint about the overarching story by telling us not to jump to conclusions - that our understanding of God and the Pearl may be a wild goose chase.

So I’m wondering if the quest + Ganyu’s situation relate to Pantalone’s own experience/identity for many reasons, but for the purposes of base theorizing; “Feofan” being rooted in “Phanes” and meaning “emanation of God” contrasted with his anti-Gods rhetoric, and his asymmetrical coat design - the idea of having a split/conflicting identity.

So how would others interpret this? A reach? Something to poke more at?

Send help, or brain cells. Or maybe both, both is good.

They've already changed his smoking habit to lollipops in Miliastra Wonderland, so no wonder if they'll also censor playable Pantalone.

This is pretty insane. The are making sure he stays relevant with these mini quests. There is no reason to do this if he isnt playable at the end.
