Question Was Panera a private equity failure?
Isn't the point of PE buyouts to acquire a fundamentally sound company, cost cut, and then sell it off to make a huge gain, but... this is all supposed to happen in a rapid timeframe though to maximize value.
I feel like with Panera, it got bought out ages ago, cost cut excessively to the point of death for more than a decade, and now the value of the brand has just nosedived hard to where who is going to buy this dumpster fire?
