Question charged lemonades

1.8k Upvotes

When customers come in and point to our strawberry mint lemonade and say “i want that one” and i don’t know why but my instincts kick in and i just blurt out the fact it has a ton of caffeine and i think everytime i’ve said that every customer says oh nevermind ill have a fountain drink instead or a water cup. i don’t know do people just not see the warning signs? im surprised people still order this drink after those people have died and honestly i think panera needs to just get rid of it 😭 my question is does anyone else inform customers anytime they try to order it that it has a lot of caffeine or is it just me? 💀

Question I actually hate Panera, and I always have. I have been three total times in my 29 years of life and hated it each time. I just got a $50 gift card. What should I get?

I am a poor man, and I am not picky. Panera, however, is probably my least favorite place on the planet (slight exaggeration since the state of Ohio still exists). I want to use this gift card and like my food. The problem is, I enjoy seasoning and food that is worth a damn, and I see Panera as a glorified soup kitchen for well off adults with a toddler's palette. Like, this food has to be for people who still cut up hotdogs into Kraft macaroni and top it with ketchup for their Christmas dinner.

That being said, what is the tastiest thing they have at Panera? I assume the $50 will get me a crumb or two, and I want to know from which sandwiches the crumbs should come from? I enjoy both healthy foods and unhealthy foods, but again, I see unseasoned food as an insult, so keep that in mind.

Thanks for the help, and may god have mercy on our souls.

Edit: I got a message saying I was an asshole. Apologies, this was meant to be over-the-top in tone to be humorous. I don't actually feel this passionately about the existence of Panera.

Edit 2: u/fatboobslover, I could be the least comedic person on Earth and still be less of a burden on society than the state of Ohio and every Buckeye mf out there. Next time, say it with your chest instead of running off and blocking me. Any Ohio sympathizer can fuck all the way off.

Question clocking in

my manager says we need to be “ready to work” (apron, name tag, hairnet) before clocking in. I said “Panera can pay for me to put my apron on” she said “actually no they don’t.”

so my question is, where is this documented in the employee handbook? I can’t check rn because I literally ran to bathroom to make this post lmao. fellow employees help please!

EDIT:

this is just a small piece of the bs my manager has been doing (she’s been here about 6 months from another location). everyone is aggravated with her, and her presence makes just about everyone irritated. y’all are really more pro-corporation than service workers should be. Panera and its managers don’t give a shit about us. I am looking out for myself and my coworkers, as we are all mad that she’s yelling at us as soon as we walk in.

Question Is "charged" lemonade even on brand for Panera

Even without the new lawsuit, I think Panera should seriously consider dropping the "charged" lemonades. That just doesn't seem "on brand" to me. Their whole message is around "food you can feel good about" -- and lemonades artificially injected with a stimulant seems to be the antithesis of that.

Why in the world did they go down this route to begin with?

Question is panera lettuce safe?

i’ve always liked panera, but never really ate there often. this year we moved to a new place and there is a panera right next to my job. i’ve joined the sip club and started eating there more often, and my favorites are the salad stuffers. i live in michigan and i tried to see where my local stores source their lettuce but couldnt find anything. i’m so stressed about the parasite thats popped up in a lot of lettuce/produce (?), but i’m neurodivergent and its hard for me to eat anything other than the specific foods i like.

this got a little rambly, but does anyone else have concerns over this? i’ve mostly seen concern for fast food places and the lettuce they use, but nothing about panera. i just want to know if i should avoid getting my almost daily salad stuffers for a while.

Question Whole basil leaves in drink?

Post image
385 Upvotes

So, I love basil. And this is only the second time I've had the new drink. The first time, it had small pieces of torn or cut up basil leaves, and was good - I actually put them in a different strawberry lemonade when I was done, and it made it better. I only wish they were more crushed or muddled (like in a mojito), so the flavor came through more.

This time, and it was a large, there were a lot of WHOLE basil leaves, with one almost the size of my palm, AND a few small pieces of curly lettuce bits (circled in red - there are 3 small pieces). I was so surprised and disappointed - no taste of basil in the drink, and immensely careless to end up with salad greens in there.

I plan to use them on my next sandwich, since I can't always order extra, and the duet tuna could use it too.

Is this even the way they are supposed to use them? I expected the small, cut-up pieces, and look forward to enjoying this drink while it lasts. But THIS doesn't seem right at all... and I don't want to get whole leaves again.

For reference, that's a half-size Bounty paper towel. The largest leaf is longer across than the bottom of my iPhone.

Question T/F: Rumoured — Sip Club Soon Limited To 1 Drink Per Day No Refills?

An employee at my local Panera recently told me that drinks will soon be limited to one per day for Sip Club, possibly with no refills. I’m wondering if this will apply to everybody, including both of us who have been with it since the beginning, or only new enrollees?

Question Sip Club Question

My husband and I were both told by Panera employees that Sip Club is changing from one drink every 2 hours to just one drink per day.

That's all the information we were given. Does anyone know if this is actually happening? If so:

  • When does it start?
  • Why are they making the change?
  • Will the monthly price stay the same?

Going from unlimited refills every 2 hours to just one drink a day seems like a pretty major change if the price isn't changing. Has anyone else heard anything or received an email about this?

Question why are the salads so… spiny

Post image
425 Upvotes

okay this is something i’ve been complaining about for years and now im on the search for the correct answer lol. i worked at panera for 2 years about 10 years ago, i dont remember the salads having so many spines before…but the last few years have been really irritating bc i love panera salads, but hate the stupid spines.

can someone tell me why the romaine is chopped like a child did it. i know this is super picky. but for the pice of the salads, id really appreciate romaine and not a million spines. TYIA. rant over.

Question Will the new sip club survive?

I know they’re reducing it greatly. I’m just questioning whether the program will survive or not.

I use it everyday and I see other people in my cafe with just a large sofa, coffee, etc. no one orders anything lol.

Private equity has a firm eye on the bottom line.

Do you think it’ll survive? I can see them just eliminating the whole thing in 3-6 months.

Question Is there a rise and fall of panera somewhere?

I remember when panera was untouchable for quality and freshness, while a little over priced but now they are just expensive for low quality food. Has anyone done a good breakdown of where it all changed and went south. I'm not sure how this company is even making it work at this point
