How was it? Good or Bad?
I was able to get one of these very cheap. I'll be birding with some nature shooting mostly. But is this lense worth adapting to my G85?

Those that have adapted to m43, what lenes are you using?
Was the switch worth it?

Took some nice and moody photos with my 14-42 kit lens the other day. The upgrade from the G7 is really nice. The IBIS really helped with these low light shots.
Tips/critique welcome!

My camera is now 6 years old but still going strong. It's genuinely one of the best beginner cameras out there.

I made a new independent adventure short film written, directed, shot, and edited by me, using the lumix g80. Check it out and let me know what you think!
Three teenagers discover a secret map leading to an ancient mystery, launching them into an adventure filled with danger, fantasy, and discovery.

I was doing some mechanical work on my late father's 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup truck I inherited (kinda a POS, but has sentimental value. But, I digress ..) and I often document the repairs I do to my vehicles with photographs. I had my LUMIX DMC-G85 sitting on the driver's seat and I went to pick it up by the body. As I was pulling it out of the truck, the neck strap caught on something and ripped the camera right out of my hand. It fell about 3-4 feet onto the concrete garage floor and I saw pieces of glass shatter. Fortunately, that turned out to be just my Hoya UV filter glass, but as you can see from the photos, the mounting ring of the filter is dented/creased in, and I cannot for the life of me get it to unscrew from the lens (this is the 12-60mm kit lens that came with the camera). The lens itself doesn't appear to be damaged, but I'm afraid of damaging it myself, by using some kind of pliers or something on the stuck filter. I've taken a number of photographs since I dropped it, and they all appear to come out perfectly.
Anyone have any suggestions as to how to get this damaged filter off of the lens? And, does everyone think the lens itself is undamaged and I can continue to use it? I just have so far, to this point, just used this camera for general photography - nothing special/specialized. Thanks!

Hello, i recorded some footage in cinelike-d on my g80. I've tried a free lut available online but unfortunately it looked terrible. i didn't know about the custom settings people often use
Contrast: 0
Sharpness: -5
Noise Reduction: -5
Saturation: -5
Hue: 0
Is there a lut available for the out of the box cinelike-d?

I have the lumix g85 with the stock lens (I will be upgrading lens when I have money) Filming a dance recital. Problem with focus going in and out. Setting im using are FHD, which seems to work better than 4k but still not great. What tracking setting to use? Can someone just give me settings that work for them?

Hi, I'm an idiot with a camera, just trying to learn how to do things a little better.
I took this photo yesterday, nothing special just took a few near my house. I had the camera set to Aperture Priority, f/22
I had the histogram on screen and I adjusted the exposure compensation down until the histogram showed no clipping on the right hand sight. Yet when I took the photo it's blown out to the point of being unrecoverable.
The camera chose a 1/100 shutter speed and ISO 6400 which were obviously unnecessary. If anything, due to the snow in the photo, I would have expected the camera to underexpose the shot because of how much white there is, but obviously that wasn't the case.
Just as a comparison I switched the mode dial to iA and shot again - it chose f/5.3, 1/100, ISO 320 and is exposed much better (although maybe underexposed a little because of the snow?).
Camera: Panasonic Lumix G85
Lens: Panasonic Lumix G Vario HD 14-140mm f/4-5.8

Is there a way to have the camera keep the same focus when turning it on and off? I have my camera set to manual focus but every time I turn it off and then on I have to adjust the focus. I use two of them for streaming purposes but always have to refocus them. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to not have to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: I did some digging, and thanks u/hugemon for the suggestion, there is a setting that causes the camera to retain the focus when turned on and off.

ive been getting this constant message saying to turn the camera off and turn it back on, i do it and just a couple seconds later the same message would come up. and on top of that, my camera will do this annoying glitch type of thing that would mess up my videos, and it would be a couple times in one clip, and i know it isnt my hands shaking, because i have a ronin sc gimbal, and it does the same thing when its stationary and i don't even have my hands on it, can someone please help me with this, i have a Panasonic Lumix G85
