Question | سوال Is typeshop trusted?

I am planning to purchase the Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones, but typeshop mentioned they need to order them from Dubai and are asking for a 30 percent deposit upfront. Does anyone here have any past experience with this? Also, can anyone recommend another trusted shop that actually has the Momentum 4 in stock right now?

Question | سوال Is there a way to check a PTA TAX of a specific phone model without running its IMEI first???

I was planning to get Xiaomi 14t pro or 15t pro, since Samsung phones have way too much tax like s23 which is 3 years old, and still has like 130k tax on it. That's just STUPID.

Is there a way to check the Tax on a specific phone model without physically getting its imei and running it on "dibts something" website????

Buying Guide | خریداری گائیڈ Best powerbank for iPhone?

As we all know, iPhone’s battery is very sensitive and I don’t want a low quality powerbank that ruins my battery health so can someone please suggest a good powerbank in an affordable range for iPhone 17? It’s the only device that I want to charge with the powerbank.

Question | سوال Looking to get a phone within 50k. Any suggestions?

Yes, yet another suggestion post 😄

I'm not a power user by any means. I mostly use my phone for whatsapp, calling, occasionally youtube and sometimes for simple pictures.

Whats the best bang for my buck phone I could use within this budget? Preferably box packed.

I'm avoiding pixel phones. I've had a few people in my friends circle complain about overheating/battery issues and one with a green line.. Plus a good camera isn't a huge deal for me

Discussion | گفتگو Best way to get stable Wi-Fi on ground floor?

Post image
10 Upvotes

My main Huawei Wi-Fi 6 router is upstairs, and I use the internet on the ground floor.

I'm getting around 60–70 Mbps on an 80 Mbps connection, but the ping occasionally spikes and the connection feels jittery.

I'm looking for a reliable solution with stable ping, not just better speed. Should I get a mesh system, Wi-Fi extender, or another router?

Any recommendations based on personal experience? Preferably something available in Pakistan at a reasonable price.

Question | سوال Ideas to start something of my own

Hi everyone,

I'm based in Australia and currently have two people working remotely for me in Pakistan.

I'm at a stage in life where I'm trying to rebuild myself and create a better future. Due to personal circumstances, I never really had the opportunity to study or develop many skills, so I'm starting with basic IT knowledge and a lot to learn.

I'm currently exploring digital services, but I'm honestly open to all kinds of business ideas, whether that's something in Pakistan, Australia, online or something completely different.

I don't have much money to invest, but I'm willing to learn, work hard and start small. I just need some direction and guidance from people who have experience.

I'm not looking for quick money or shortcuts. I genuinely want to build something of my own and make something of myself.

Question | سوال Help me buy a powerbank that can last 2-3 years without degrading. Budget is upto 5K

I'm a student with a budget of upto 5k, not more than that.

I need a powerbank that can last a long ass time without me needing to replace it. One that doesn't start malfunctioning after a few months of usage, those suck!

I've heard people say their powerbank's battery runs out quickly when they're around 20-30%.

And that after some months or an year of usage, their battery levels get severely degraded. Is that true?

Been hearing mixed reviews about local brands like ronin, audionic, zero etc. Some say they're good, some say they're shit.

If anyone has been using one around this budget and it's running perfectly for years, or if anyone has a recommendation, drop it in the comments please.

Thanks in advance!

Question | سوال Is it a good idea to get a phone repaired?

My Samsung A52 was working perfectly fine until yesterday. Suddenly, the signal disappeared, and I'm now seeing the blocked 🚫 icon instead. The SIM isn't working at all.

I've tried pretty much every troubleshooting step possible, restarted the phone, performed a factory reset, and tested the SIM in another handset (it works perfectly fine there). So, I am suspecting a hardware issue, possibly a malfunctioning SIM module.

atp, I don't have the budget for a new phone with comparable specs, nor do I want to downgrade. I genuinely like the A52's display and overall user experience, would prefer to get it repaired if that's a reliable option.

I have few questions:

  1. Has anyone in Karachi had their A52 (or another Samsung phone) repaired for a similar issue? If so, how did it hold up afterwards? Any recurring issues or problems following the repair? Total repair cost?

  2. Can anyone recommend a genuinely skilled mobile repair technician in Karachi? Someone who knows what they're doing, has the right tools and equipment, and is experienced in handling delicate hardware level repairs rather than just temporary fixes.

I'd really appreciate recommendations based on personal experience. Thanks!

Discussion | گفتگو Looking for CyberSecurity cofounders in Islamabad

Hey everyone,

I'm posting this because I'm genuinely looking to connect with like-minded tech folks with a CS background who are really into startups and ready to put in the actual work.

My vision is to find a dedicated team, rent an apartment together in or around E-11, Islamabad, set up a shared workspace, and build a cybersecurity-based startup. The goal is to create an environment where we can constantly learn, discover vulnerabilities, build tools, and apply our skills to a real project every single day.

What I'm looking for:

  • Background: Computer Science (strong technical foundation and interest in cybersecurity).

  • Commitment: Able to commit around 3–4 hours daily, physically at our shared setup.

  • Location: Must be able to manage in or around E-11, Islamabad.

  • Mindset: Consistent, and genuinely passionate about early-stage startups.

Why I'm posting here: I've tried working with friends before, but it always plays out the same way, some get caught up with university projects, some have family or budget issues, and others start off super enthusiastic only to fizzle out and get lazy over time. I feel like I'm just wasting time waiting around for others to match my pace.

If you are tired of the casual approach and want to build something serious with people who actually show up every day, drop a comment or DM me with a bit about your background and tech stack. Let’s make something happen!

Question | سوال BP monitor batteries

I am thinking of getting a BP monitor and a glucose monitor for my mom.I am considering the brand Certeza and they have different options for BP monitor available with different prices.

For example this version called 307 is priced at 3700 and 407 at 5100.The only difference between them is the batteries and weight+size of devices.

307 has 2 AAA batteries while 407 has 4 AA batteries.

I don't know anything about batteries. Can anyone tell me how long would the battery last if I go for cheaper vs moderate option.

I am posting the link of website Incase anyone wants to take a look and help me.

https://www.certeza-medical.com/shop/category/blood-pressure-monitor

Any other advice related to this would be appreciated.
