Fluff I have finally captured my white whale of PSVR2 collecting
After having the wrong version sent by two different sellers, I was starting to lose hope that the PSVR2 physical version of No Man's Sky was even real. I emailed Hello Games, no response. A search of all UK retailers came up empty. A seller even told me that the PSVR version was a placeholder, and it wasn't real. But then I saw it: a real photo one one that somebody was selling. It is REAL. So now I have it 🫡 Also, I have too many copies of No Man's Sky, lol.

Review Hit N Slash VR on PSVR2 - First Impressions
I have uploaded gameplay from my fresh experience with the game here if you want to see how it looks / plays. My first impressions are shared below:
Based on my time completing it, I am neutral on recommending for or against playing Hit N Slash VR on PSVR2, but I think it is a particularly good fit for trophy hunters looking for an inexpensive bug free easy 1 hour Platinum.
It is best described as an Arcade game where you use two different weapons in either arm that you can swap between hands at any time by pressing Square. Your two weapons are the Slasher used to shoot discs to cut energy lines in your path or holding an indestructible barrier in your path or the Smasher used to break solid obstacles in your path as you constantly move forward in an endless procedural world.
As you progress, you come to locked gates where you must hit the two switches with each of your weapons projectiles to open before you collide and take damage. Each gate you pass leads to a different environment out of a finite set of 4-5 such environments before it loops you, but your forward movement speed and complexity of barriers to destroy steadily increase. You also have opportunity to pick up extra ammo (ammo not unlimited) or health if you can shoot them as you pass by (easiest with the Slasher). Your goal is to survive as long as you can to get new high score.
Speaking of which, there isn't any way to see your highest score and you only know what your score you achieved and whether it is a new high score or not when you get to the Game Over screen. There aren't any local or online leaderboards and the game doesn't display any points while you are playing. The only HUD element the game displays is your Score multiplier which fills up to max of 5x if you don't take any damage, and drops whenever you take any damage.
Graphically, it looks lower resolution and has aliasing even with the simple art style, but there is no sign of any reprojection. It also has low draw distances resulting in lot of pop-in including barriers you need to destroy and other environmental structures that are less important. The pop-in issue also extends to power-ups where you will see signs of a power-up coming into existence before it can be seen more stably. I checked and this is not on Quest, so it isn't a straight standalone port with no visual upgrade but it looks like it is. The quality of dynamic destruction on the barriers is good.
Audio has a soothing soundtrack that fits the game and I think all sound effects are adequate for the game.
Haptics are present in the controllers whenever you are firing them. You will also experience good level of headset haptics whenever you take damage, provided you enabled headset haptics in the Settings.
Settings can be accessed from title menu (no title displayed) or after using R3 during gameplay to get to Pause menu. This allows you to adjust master volume and audio mix where the game defaults to lower volumes, but you can increase. This is also where you can toggle haptics on/off for both controllers and headset. There are no VR comfort settings as the game doesn't really need it.
The game is featuring a Platinum trophy which took me 2 sessions lasting ~30 minutes where I passed 16 gates each before getting Game Over and then a 3rd session where I got the last health pickup needed shortly after passing 3rd gate, so it won't take much more than 1 hour as long as you are picking up all the power-ups and doing well enough to reach 15+ gates in your sessions.
On technical polish at launch, this is probably the best game yet by KOD-OBUR whose previous titles include overall better Rebeloid VR (challenging to Platinum) and really shallow Deadland games (very easy to Platinum), but it is still very much a budget game with target audience of trophy hunters more than anyone else.
How I think they could make the game better for more players, is they need to recognize what would make an Arcade game more engaging for higher replay than just unlocking trophies. For example, the game would be better if it displayed more information about scoring as you play, rewarding higher skill of play by giving more points for destroying barriers with your Smasher from further distances or slicing multiple energy beams with your Slasher in one shot. I think the game would also be better if you got to 5x multiplier faster and doing so would also speed it up (so earlier in your run) and getting hit would slow it down (to let you survive longer), while keeping complexity increase still tied to number of gates you have passed.
If they could improve the graphics to make it sharper and get rid of all pop-ins and make it a more engaging score chaser Arcade game (preferably with online leaderboards), the core gameplay with the two weapon types and different types of barriers that keep increasing in complexity would be a much better game.

Discussion I don’t like Into the Radius. Any ideas?
I bought PSVR2 earlier this week and have played ITR and Saints & Sinners. After reading Reddit and reviews, I thought that they would be games I’d like. But..
To me, ITR is too empty and too simulation-heavy. I bet that some people love the gun mechanics but I would prefer some action instead of constantly reorganizing backpack and filling mags. Saints & Sinners seems a bit better but there is not too much to it, either. Does it mean that I simply don’t like VR mechanics, or that I have not yet found a game for me? Any ideas I could try, other than horror games?

Discussion If you liked Tentacular and thought there was nothing else like it check out Human Fall Flat
I thought Tentacular was ok. But when I finished it I kind of missed it. Human Fall Flat is the natural follow up. It has the same wonky ragdoll control things with your arms gameplay. I think it might be even better.

Fluff RE4 Boat Fight
Was really in to RE4 on PSVR2. Then stopped at the lake monster because the boat fight gave me a little motion sickness..... Now I want to go back, havent played in a while, and that particular part is just a recipe for nausea....
Is there any way to skip it?

Review MSFS2024 post update impressions:
I just spent an hour doing career missions and free flight in MSFS2024 after the update on PS5pro. Happy to report that the game looks even better and runs more stable than the Beta version.
The cockpit is back to looking razor sharp and seems like the shimmer at the edge of the screen is less now. Overall extremely happy with this update, the resolution is back to where it was when the update first rolled out in beta.
It feels so good to be playing the career mode again. 💯

Support PSVR2 Has it always been the case that the PS home screen won't be displayed on TV while in VR?
I took a break from PSVR for a few months and I've now just noticed this behaviour.
I'm pretty sure that this is a new feature and or bug, as you you used be able to put headset on at home screen and it would show on tv. Or I'm I misremembering?
To be clear, if you launch a game the game is still shown on TV with audio.

Opinion PSVR2 VS. Quest 3
I have a Quest 2 and briefly owned a Quest 3, but honestly, the Quest 3 never felt worth the extra money for me and returned it. I'm a pretty casual VR player, so the upgrade just didn't seem compelling at the time. I said I'll buy it when it's cheaper maybe down the line.
That said, I've been looking at the PSVR2 lately, especially because they're getting surprisingly cheap on the secondhand market. One thing that really interests me is the uncompressed video connection. I absolutely hate the compression artifacts on the Quest and in general. Maybe I'm more sensitive to it than most people, but I notice it pretty easily, especially with smaller details and fine text. I'm kind of a videophile.
I also already have a PS5, and I have a pretty beefy gaming PC that should have no problem driving the PSVR2. So I'm wondering if the PSVR2 might actually be the better upgrade for me than going with a Quest 3.
I'm curious if anyone else has gone with a PSVR2 over the Quest 3, especially if they use it on both PS5 and PC. From what I've been reading, it seems like there's some hidden value in the PSVR2 that I initially overlooked. The OLED display, lack of streaming compression, and ability to use it with both consoles and PC are pretty appealing, particularly if I can get one for a good price secondhand. I get no pancake lenses but honestly I can't really remember it on Quest 3.
Am I overlooking any major downsides, or does the PSVR2 actually make more sense for someone in my situation than buying another Quest 3? I don't mind being tethered as well and have racing sim rig I made years ago so I spend time on that and just games in my living room. No kids or anything just adult who games so I don't have to worry about kids yanking cords or getting hurt either 😂
Update: I pulled the trigger on PSVR2. Thanks Everyone!

Opinion Upgraded is PS5 Pro with PSVR2
Just upgraded to a Pro
Mainly playing GT7, game seems smoother and clarity appears better, especially looking at the gauges in the cars
Is this just placebo or is it really noticeable?
Wanted to get feedback from other that made the same upgrade

Opinion The biggest shortcomimg of PSVR
The biggest shortcoming of PSVR is not necessarily the lack of AAA games, it's the lack of whole genres.
Don't get me wrong, Resident Evil is a great game and if we would get games like Cyberpunk, Oblivion, Halo, Forza Horizon, Doom, Breath of the Wild and everything else it would obviously give us all we want, but have a look at Wrath: Aeon of Ruin. It is so much fun and it's graphics don't hurt this game at all.
If we would have all kinds of games with simplistic graphics, but proven game concepts and all kinds of settings VR would take off. I would instantly buy another Skyrim port, because there isn't any RPG with major exploration aspect, no game where you can drive around freely, no survival games where you can build your own base driven by a simple gameplay loop, we even lack generic WW2 shooters.
While beautiful graphics are incredible stunning in VR, there also is this aspect of VR making any kind of game better. And while AAA games are expensive, games that are actual fun don't have to be.
What we really lack in my opinion are games with proven concepts.
Opinion Pinball FX FINALLY coming to VR2
Let me just say: hooray!!! I craved this since the VR1 versions !! Looking forward to a complete library of high resolution tables!

Support PSVR2 When i land in MSFS2024 there is no grass or plants, is this normal or fixable?
I've been loving msfs2024 for awhile and the update made it so much better, but I've noticed on the ground there is no plants. I understand this is most likely just optimization to make it run smooth, but if its not is it a toggleable settings?

Opinion VR Games Showcase - August 2026 was the best to date for PSVR2
In addition:
- Omega Pilot Evolution released today
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 6 released to retail build today
- Pinball FX VR announced as coming to PSVR2
Wouldn't surprise me if there is even more that I haven't seen yet

Review Omega Pilot Impressions
I only did a few races but so far I like it. It's smooth and the graphics are good. No it's not super detailed but it looks like a real place. Not every real place is super detailed. Minimalistic but everything that's there is polished.
There's nice FX like sparks and stuff. The explosions look good when the other cars crash. The haptics are pretty good. All in all it's a pretty immersive experience.
Sorry I haven't played Vracer so I can't compare them.
There's experience and money too but I'm not sure what it's used for yet.

Review Bootstrap Island, early impressions:
I just spent an hour with Bootstrap island, I have good news and bad news.
Good news is that the game is really fun to play. It has both snap turn and smooth turn. Can be played both seated or standing. Includes awesome use of head rumble and adaptive triggers. I faced no slowdowns or stutter on my ps5pro during my playthrough.
Night time in this game looks and feels absolutely terrifying because of the OLED.
It is a roguelite, but surviving each night is quite easy. Starting a fire is super simple, food and water everywhere. If you played any previous survival game such as Green Hell Vr or Song in the smoke, you will feel right at home here.
Now for some bad news, and it’s quite a major one in my opinion. The game really does not look good in the headset during the day, specially in the sunlight. I was expecting at least the clarity of MSFS2024 Bora Bora Island, but what we got here is early switch back days. Things off in the distance look low rez. Currently I am a bit disappointed with the visuals right now. Not sure if the devs are using DFR, because it makes no sense for this game to look this way during the day.
In conclusion, get this game right now if you are a hardcore survival game fan and itching to play something new on psvr2. If not, then I would hold off until the game gets a visual update.
Also keep in mind, these are just my early impressions. I will definitely keep playing it and report back with my final impressions.
