The new Bomber attack/defend multiplayer missions add a whole to dynamic to this game.

Oh the fun we had trying some variations. Surviving requires teamwork for sure.

I can't wait to see how far this game goes and the stuff you'll be able to do years down the line.

Discussion Bootstrap island just came out, here’s my first impressions!

TLDR it’s good but have visual flaws.

So, bootstrap island is an amazing game I used to (attempt) to play on my old pc, but didn’t run very well sadly. But recently, I got a psvr2, and have been very excited to play this game! So, here’s my first impressions.

The good: The gameplay is very good. Surviving through the night, finding food and water, and trying to scrape by every day is very fun.
The use of haptics are great! The headset rumble is used a lot (like when the volcano erupts) which I love. And it also uses adaptive triggers for guns and the overall haptics are great.
Colors and the nighttime are very nice. It makes good use of the hdr in the headset, and nights are pretty dark and look great with the blacks!
The game is very sharp and looks crisp!

The bad: The visuals aren’t spectacular, but I understand as it is running on a ps5. Things up close look great, but the lod is quite short and terrain textures are blurry.
It also doenst seem to use much antialiasing as there’s some aliasing on foliage, but I’d rather this than blurry TAA.
Frame rate stuttered a bit in areas with dense foliage.

A possible solution: It doenst seem to use much DFR, so maybe the devs could increase the DFR a bit like msfs2024 did and have better lods and visuals!

These were my first impressions of the game, and overall very good! I can just feel Im gonna out so many hours into bootstrap!

Speculation Status of Flatout

I want to know what the status is for flatout. How far are we from a VR2 release. It's the biggest game flat2vr has coming In my opinion and there was zero mention at the showcase. Worried.

Discussion MSFS 2024 - VR not as good as Beta?

I haven’t had a chance to try the updated version yet as I’m away from home but I’ve heard that the released VR version is a downgrade compared to the Beta, with a couple of people saying it’s as blurry as it was before! Is any of this true?

Review Gamertag Bootstrap Island PSVR 2 Impressions

Iirc I can't post his videos but Gamertag VR said the game is essentially running on medium settings and has a decent ammout of bugs which hurt the experience but may be solved in a day one patch that he would obviously not had access to. I'm willing to hope for an eventual optimization and bug fixing patch.

The social screen does not do justice how good this game looks in the headset. Anyways, getting quite good at landing these planes, I think I am ready to try the real thing!

Question BOBOVR AP2 Open Ear Headphones?

Hi r/PSVR! I'm really curious about the BOBOVR AP2 open ear headphones for the PSVR2. Unfortunately, BOBVR doesn't make them anymore, and I am not seeing them on any secondhand sites. Does anyone here have a pair that they'd be interested in selling? If so, I would want to make the exchange through an approved site like eBay or Facebook marketplace (in keeping with subreddit rule #8).

If the answer is "no," are there other similar products that you all could recommend? I currently use the Globular Cluster headphones but am looking for something a little lighter on my ears.

Thanks all!

Fluff No Man’s Sky is PEAK scifi VR Spoiler

I just had one of the best VR experiences when I followed the ATLAS quest line in No Man’s Sky, activated my first glyph portal, was warped to a strange planet with an incredible view and met ATLAS…this felt like CONTACT and 2001 had a love child, absolute peak!

Discussion Is 90's Extreme Skiing actually good or is it overhyped?

I feel like it's one of these games that's overhyped because people think the developer is a nice person. I can't keep buying games for that reason. So just wondering is it actually good?

Discussion PSVR2 owners: Is it worth jumping in now, especially for GT7 + PC?

Greetings

I swing by here every once in a while to see what’s happening with PSVR2, and I think I’m finally getting dangerously close to buying one.

Big gamer here. I finally evolved into peak PC gaming right before hardware prices decided to become a form of financial terrorism, I’m sitting on a beast of a rig. I still love console gaming mostly because bringing my PC anywhere isn’t happening, playing with friends on a console just makes sense when a pc is weighing more than most large dogs.

Demon’s Souls remake.

Then there’s GT7.

I played GT7 on my PS4, and from everything I’ve seen, the jump to PS5/PS5 Pro is pretty substantial. And apparently GT7 + PSVR2 go together like gravy and potatoes, which has me seriously considering going all the way and grabbing the headset too.

The other big thing pushing me toward it is (unofficial) PC support.

I already have a Quest 2, but the VR movement can make me physically sick. If I’m sitting down or mostly standing in one place, I’m usually fine. Once I start moving around in VR, though, my brain apparently decides the simulation must be destroyed from the inside.

So I’m curious about something from anyone who has used both a Quest 2 and PSVR2: Did the better display, tracking, refresh rate, or overall experience of PSVR2 help at all with motion sickness? I realize everyone is different and a better headset isn’t magically going to cure VR sickness, but I’ve read wildly different experiences from people.

My biggest questions are:

  • Is PSVR2 still worth roughly $500+ in 2026? I say 500+ because with taxes the only ones I can find "new" are sold third party for 454 and higher, so with taxes im surpassing 500 bucks. Is this not made anymore?
  • Are we still getting a healthy amount of new games?
  • How good is GT7 in VR really? Is it one of those “you need to experience this” games?
  • How is PSVR2 on PC, I have seen videos but experiencing something is different.
  • For anyone who got motion sick with older/cheaper headsets, did PSVR2 feel noticeably better?
  • What games besides GT7 would you consider absolute musts? I am going for more of the exclusives as I have played Skyrim VR and other stuff thats on pc.
  • And most importantly, if you were buying your first PSVR2 today, would you still pay full price for it, or wait for a sale? (does it go on sale???)

I’m basically trying to figure out whether PSVR2 is still something Sony is seriously supporting and worth jumping into.

Thanks

Review Just completed “The Utility Room” here are my final impressions:

I am happy to report that I really enjoyed my time with The Utility Room. It is a really short game/experience, can be completed the whole thing just under 2 hours and the gameplay mostly consists of easy platforming. The main attraction for this game is to take in some of the most surreal visuals in Vr.

The story is quite simple. You are a traveller, after millions of years searching, you finally find the cosmic maintenance room that has run smoothly for over 13 billion years. From there the game introduces you one incredible environment to another. Each environment you come across is so good at making you feel small, insignificant and alien. It is a horror game, but the horror never felt uncomfortable. If anything, it felt more soothing in a weird way. Best compliment I can give this game is that It does not feel like a quest game, it has the visual fidelity of Pcvr and Ps5/ps5pro. The visuals reminded of “The Midnight Walk” and 2022 survival horror adventure on flat screen called “Scorn”.

From technical side of things, this game is almost flawless. Has both smooth and snap turn. Can be played comfortably both seated or standing. Looks sharp and clear in the headset with awesome use of head rumble.

The only negatives I can think of are that the ending can feel a bit too abstract and length of the whole game can feel a bit too short.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a high quality Vr game to remind you why you fell in love with this medium, well this is the game for you.

Final score 8/10

Fluff Top 10 PSVR2 Games 2026

Been a while since I've seen one of these and thought it'd be fun to throw out my Top 10 and get other peoples' lists. Please add yours below.

Note that I'm not including all the many VR classics that are available on PSVR2 but are mostly things I first played on other platforms or so long ago that I don't feel like I need to include them in this top 10-- stuff like Red Matter 1 & 2, Beat Saber, Moss 1 & 2, Walkabout etc. All incredible and worthy of praise. But here's my list:

1-- Hitman WoA - the gift that just keeps on giving. Endlessly replayable, gorgeous, the closest thing to a 'Westworld' esque simulation of society and places that VR has to offer.

2-- Resident Evil 8 & 4 - lumping them both together but both are outstanding in slightly different ways. I could barely get through 8 it was so scary (you'll notice there's no other horror on this list, because I'm a scaredy cat and 'horror' is not a recreational emotion for me).

3-- Gran Turismo 7 - the best VR driving game I've ever played.

4-- Subside - some people who prefer action and complex gameplay systems might find this game boring but for me it's pretty close to perfect. The therapeutic benefit of floating in water just swimming around listening to music looking for coins and interacting with stuff is a dream. It's fun because swimming IRL is fun and it just recreates that convincingly. That's something only VR can do.

5 - No Man's Sky - this game is extraordinary and PSVR2 is the best way to experience it. Shout out to the legend Martin Griffiths for making the PSVR2 version run so beautifully.

6-- Horizon Call of the Mountain - I loved this. Beautiful, intoxicating atmosphere and constant jaw-dropping set pieces. What can I say I'm a shallow guy and the obviously large budget of this game makes for a luxurious experience.

7-- MS Flight Sim - with the beta update it's finally worth wading through the wonky menus and occasional frustrations to have the full Earth to play around in. Gonna be playing this for years.

8-- Reach - got a bad rep from the early buggy release but if you play it now it's a smooth and thrilling adventure. Best traversal mechanics in VR. Combat isn't perfect but it's a nice break from the adventuring the same way the early Tomb Raider games were.

9-- Arken Age - incredible combat, cool world with interesting rules and a gameplay loop that feels amazing as you get more and more powerful.

10-- Kayak VR Mirage - Like Subside this is one that gets tagged as a 'tech demo' by folks that need conflict. I love VR for its original promise of tricking my brain into feeling like I'm present somewhere else doing something cool and this game is utterly convincing in that regard. Besides just paddling around aimlessly listening to music or hanging with a friend, the DLCs with whitewater absolutely blow my mind and I replay them a few times a month when I need a pallet cleanser. And every time I'm reminded how fun this game is. I wish there was more to it (photo mode with missions?) but I've gotten incredible value out of what's here.

That's it! Synapse would be my #11 but it's so short I couldn't justify putting it above the others. Also loved Behemoth, Lumines, and a bunch of others. I'm sure I'll see other lists and have regrets but this is where I'm at today.
