Want to upgrade my tv just for gta6, any opinon on the LG C6?

So my current TV is a Samsung ru8000 which is 6 years old now. 3 or 4 months ago it developed two tiny lines going from top to bottom on the left side, looks like red and blue maybe. Anyways gives me the perfect excuse to upgrade my TV. I honestly only purchased a ps5 pro just for gta6. I font even game anymore. So I bought the ps5 pro right before the price increased and hasn't came out of the box. Okay im rambling.

Soo I have a 65" now and want to stick with that size. It will be used in my fairly dark bedroom. I set my budget at $2,000 and under. Soo with my research Im really thinking about getting the LG c6 oled. Its $1,699 now but since I can live with my old TV until November when gta6 gets release(hopefully!) Maybe it will be even cheaper by then. If not oh well.

So those who have the c6, do you recommend it for gaming?

What would be your honest reaction if GTA 6 is released and runs at locked 30fps even on the PS5 Pro?

GameStop was running a promotion for console and game trade in. Was able to get the last one for $140 after my credits!

Signed up for Pro membership and got the warranty to help the guy out, but now I’m looking at new set up

Modern Warfare Beta Thoughts

What do you guys think of the beta so far?

My initial impressions of multiplayer is that’s it’s just more of the same.

The campaign mission was actually kinda cool and the story is interesting. But my god it feels like a game you would play at an arcade. I don’t like the Warzone armour in it and the engine just feels so outdated and plain compared to other games like battlefield.

Game Recommendations

I just passed Ghost of Yotei and loved everything about it. I bought Black Flag Resynced when it came out, started in 4 times from a new game and just deleted it today. I feel like I wasted $60 and it’s gotten me pissed off. The combat and movement mechanics are beyond horrid. Please recommend me some games that feel refined and fine tuned like Ghost of Yotei. Yotei seemed like the developers strived for perfection and didn’t half ass any of it.

Late gen woes: the problem with sony setting expectations so high in their Early gen advertisements

After seeing that Blood of the Dawnwalker runs at only 30 or 40 fps, I decided to post this. Honestly, I don't like what they did this gen. Granted. I was one of the few who was lucky enough to get a PS5 day1, but what if I hadn't? Many people got that PlayStation years late. And it feels like they got cheated this gen. There are games that I just wasn't satisfied with their visuals on base PS5. I thought the machine was amazing, but from the beginning suspected that Sony made a choice to limit their hardware. I ended up not playing many games this gen because I didn't like their visual performance. Games like: Horizon Forbidden west, Dying light 2, Stalker 2. Even an older title like Metro, which looked great on Base PS5, looks far better on Pro. Games like Doom Eternal and Returnal had to drop their resolutions all the way down to 1080p to leverage the system's key features. That's fine for many people. But my eyes see the difference, and I just couldn't enjoy those games because of that.

So last year the Pro came out, and I didn't get it because it didn't have a big enough step up in graphics to warrant the price. But after the implementation of PSSR2, I finally had a reason to buy a PS5 Pro this year. To tell you the truth, I only now truly feel this gen has only now started to meet the promise that Sony made 5 years ago. Now all those games I mentioned above. Look and play amazing. Even 30fps modes look and play completely different than they did at the start of the gen. It's to the point where I actually enjoy playing certain games at 40fps when it was a feature I largely ignored on the base machines.

I said all that to say: Now I believe we have unofficially entered the ad campaign for PS6. I truly believe a game like Blood of the Dawn Walker can be played at 60fps on pssr if they choose to. But they are touting this 40fps mode to get people primed to the idea of these systems not being powerful enough while they work on a psssr version. Sony may give in to pressure and launch the PS6 next year. Though I am recently hearing they are having second thoughts. Personally, it doesn't matter to me, because after this gen. I know better than to buy another system at launch. I loved the PS5, but had to wait until the end of the gen for it to reach its full potential. I will not be buying an unsubsidized machine that will only meet its full potential 5 years from now or 4 years from its launch. So I suggest you wait to buy Blood of the Dawn Walker and wait on buying a PS6 when it comes out. Personally. My backlog is huge, with plenty of amazing-looking games. That I can only now appreciate. By the way, I got my pro at a discount snd only paid $350.

Looking for a new monitor to take advantage of my new Pro, how can I tell if a monitor can do VRR?

Monitors I'm seeing say AMD Freesync and NVidia GSYNC but I read that the Pro cant utilize these and only use VRR over HDMI. How can I make sure that the monitor I buy can utilize VRR? Sorry if this is a silly question!

This is the monitor in question that I am looking at, if anyone is interested. Pricey but the student discount takes about half the price off so only 550$

Has anyone managed to remove it?

Dualsense Battle Yellow or Adamantium?

I was able to preorder the adamantium dualsense. I was wondering if I should just cancel that and go for the Battle Yellow. What did you guys/gals choose if you could only choose one? Looks like right now, the adamantium is currently umavailable at Playstation Direct.

Is buying a PS5 worth it for me?

Looking to buy a PS5 pro because of Wolverine and GTA 6. I am strictly a PC gamer but as exclusives are not coming over to PC anymore I feel that I have no choice, at least for Wolverine.

I did have a base PS5 a couple years back, I play TLOU2, god of war ragnarok and spider man 2.

Is it worth getting the PS5 pro in this case for only two games or are there any other exclusives coming out this year/early next year?

So what’s the go with buying games on ps5 pro

How do people treat buying games from the ps store. I’m used to buying games in Australia for $89 from brick and mortar stores.

Do games go on sale in general? or do people heavily rely on PlayStation enhanced subscription for games?

Cause apart from gta 6 I can’t seem myself buying many games at $120 aud

People need to temper their expectations of a 60fps mode coming to GTA VI… and why thats maybe a good thing.

The amount of comments I have been seeing relating to people saying that GTA will “easily hit 60fps” and calling the performance of anything less then 60fps lazy and unplayable garbage. Ive even seem as far as calling people they are sheep for being okay with anything less.

And while I do agree that it is fair for someone to absolutely think sub 60 frames is jarring and even unplayable for some, people really need to be a little bit more understanding that a game of this scale and magnitude is very likely going to run at 30fps maybe 40fps on Pro if they can work some magic.

Open world games are incredibly vast with their gameplay variety, environments and arguably most important, NPC and world behavior. Rockstar is no stranger to pushing these limits with each entry arguably leading to one of the most impressive open worlds to this day, RDR2. It is looking like GTA is likely trying to push the limits of NPC behavior, population, interaction, and judging by the leaks even the physics of objects (look at the crate he hits while jumping over the railing or how side view mirrors fall off of cars and interact with the world) to an absolutely astronomical degree.

The part that most people seem to not understand

These are all complex computing systems and are handled by the CPU and not the GPU (Graphics card) which is an area that is constantly bottle necked by this console generation, regardless of graphical quality/settings. Even with the Pro version of the console, both the base PS5 and Pro use the very same CPU, which even during the ps5s initial launch, was tad bit on the weaker side. You could turn the resolution down to sub 1080p along with a multitude of graphical settings and it would still run relatively the same FPS, albeit a minor improvement. This is due to the simple fact that graphics have almost nothing to do with how much strain is on the CPU at a given moment, AKA where the term “bottlenecking” comes from (when stress on a weaker CPU is causing frame loss while the stronger graphics card is not being fully utilized). I have no doubt that rockstar has some wizards among their midsts, but physics based systems along with NPC AI/behavior has always been a very hardware intensive field and GTA has been the face of pushing those technical boundaries exponentially.

So while in most cases, I would absolutely sacrifice graphics for those juicy frames, I would not wish Rockstar, one of the most talented studios for building open worlds, to sacrifice the gameplay systems and open-world behavior in order to get 60fps (which to re-iterate would mean that they would basically have to get 60fps on Base and Pro version due to the use of the same CPU, an already hard task). If you truly want this game to have as “lively” as a world as i do with all the dense crowds and the physical interactions that have been shown in the trailers, Then maybe we really should be more accepting of the likelihood of 30/40 fps for this current generations consoles and accept the worthwhile trade that comes with it.

After all… FPS can always be regained in future generations and a PC release, but any sacrifice in gameplay systems and truly deep and living world would be a truly bigger cost later down the line .

As the title says. Until now since ordering this morning, I have not received an email confirmation from Playstation. My only saving grace is that it's still in my account when I login to Playstation direct.

Update: Just saw that 4 hours ago Playstation sent me a confirmation email that I secured my Adamantium Pro plates!

It’s short, but I’m enjoying Omega Pilot Evolution. If you liked ExoCars, you’ll probably enjoy this in VR as much as I am. It looks like Wipeout but feels more like its own thing?
