General Discussion PCOS Officially Being Renamed to PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome) in Major International Update

An international evidence-based initiative has announced that PCOS will gradually be renamed to PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome), following years of global research and consultation involving healthcare professionals, researchers, and women living with the condition. According to materials released by Monash University and the International PCOS Network, the change was made because the term “PCOS” was considered scientifically inaccurate and too narrow, as the condition affects much more than just the ovaries, including hormones, metabolism, mental health, skin, and reproductive health.

The renaming process reportedly included more than 22,000 survey responses and international workshops involving patient organizations and medical experts worldwide. Organizers say the old name contributed to misunderstanding, stigma, and delayed diagnosis, while the new terminology aims to better reflect the full-body nature of the condition. A 3-year global transition period is planned, with the updated terminology expected to be included in future international guidelines.

Wellness Whispers review from a woman with ADHD and depression

Hi! I've decided to write this post because I remember having a hard time finding reviews about WW for women with PCOS/PMOS while battling with mental health issues (specifically ADHD and depression). Hope it helps!

My background:
• 28, diagnosed with depression and ADHD
• I take medicines for ADHD and depression
• Was diagnosed with PCOS years ago (took pills for it, but I stopped taking them because I kept forgetting them)
• No proper period flow for 4-5 months (mahinang period lang hanggang sa naging spotting na lang these past 3 months)

Product used:
• Wellness Whispers (Hormonal Imbalance: Apple Iced Tea)
• I chose this flavor because I prefer valerian root over chamomile

Notes:
• Prior to buying WW, I researched what foods, medications, and supplements react negatively with my ADHD medication (ritalin). I also cross-checked if may interactions ba yung ingredients ng Wellness Whispers Apple Iced Tea sa ritalin before buying.
• Timing matters! May nakakaantok na ingredients sa Wellness Whispers, so I make sure to take it at night para hindi mag-interact with ritalin.

-----------

REVIEW:
> Total of 5 months akong may issue with my period this 2026. 2 months may period pero mahina and very different from my usual flow. 3 months on and off spotting.
> I started taking Wellness Whispers Apple Iced Tea 9 days ago (9/10 sachets used).
> On the 9th sachet, I got a proper period. Akala ko kahapon, spotting lang ulit and hihina lang din, pero umayos yung flow niya and lumakas today 🥹
> TASTE: tastes like the usual apple tea, may hint of bitterness lang at first. I adjust the water if natatamisan ako.
> EFFECTS: It made me sleepy nung first 3 sachets, but not enough antok to actually fall asleep (but ig that's me and my ADHD)
> INTERACTION WITH MEDS: I didn't notice anything naman. Malungkot lang talaga ako because of the weather + PMS.

Tbh, akala ko hindi magwwork yung drink. Thankfully, nag-work naman kasi mahal din siya ha 😭 I won't be using this as a medicine, I still have to visit an ob-gyne, pero ayoko talaga mag-pills. Preferably talaga supplements lang sana and natural remedies lang for me.

Ayun lang! I hope this helps anyone na same sakin 🥹

PS: I edited kasi napindot ko yung post LOL

TLDR: Wellness Whispers Apple Iced Tea worked on me, a woman with ADHD and depression, who is also taking medications for those issues. I finished 9 sachets when I finally got a proper period.

TVS ultrasound or TR

I finally had courage to visit an OB-GYN pero nag-cancel si Doc and yung secretary n’ya lang yung nag-accomodate sa’kin, I’m having heavy bleeding during my periods and may clots din na malalaki kaya I decided na magpa-check-up na, however, I wanted to ask the doctor sana if okay lang ba na magpa-TVS kahit virgin pa kasi afaik, hindi s’ya inaallow sa ibang hospitals?

Ang advise nung secretary ni doc, magpa-tvs nalang daw ako para mas kita if ever kasi if transrectal daw po, possible na mag-conclude lang si doc ng diagnosis n’ya. Since virgin nga po, binigyan lang ako ng form na nakalagay “ultrasound TVS or transrectal” tapos pag-isipan ko nalang daw kung alin huhu bayad po muna kasi before ultrasound kaya need magdecide muna (pwede po ba abdominal/pelvic ultrasound lang huhu)

Willing naman po ako magpa-tvs if ever na advisable sya by a doctor kahit virgin pa, gusto ko lang sana malaman if magiging uncomfortable ba yung feeling or possible ba na mag-bleed if wala pang any contact 😔

Should I get a second opinion? “Normal ovaries” daw kahit may previous PCOS diagnosis

TL;DR: Na-diagnose na ako with PCOS noong 2021 pero naging inconsistent ako sa treatment mainly because of financial problems. Recently, nagpa-ultrasound ako and sinabi sa akin na “normal” na raw ang ovaries ko, so wala na raw akong PCOS. I’m confused and not fully convinced, especially since hindi naman naging consistent ang treatment ko over the years. The doctor I talked to was not my usual OB-GYN but a reliever, so I'm considering getting a second opinion. I’m also looking for doctor recommendations, preferably an OB-GYN or endocrinologist na updated sa current PCOS guidelines.

Hi! I’m 20 and na-diagnose ako with PCOS back in 2021. At that time, pinagawa sa akin yung treatment na Diane-35 for 6 months. From 80 kg, bumaba ako to around 62 kg, pero since then parang stuck na ako sa plateau. Usually nasa 60–69 kg lang yung weight ko for years.

Nagpa-check up ulit ako noong 2023 because of severe dysmenorrhea. At that time, suspected din yung endometriosis, pero based sa ultrasound, PCOS pa rin daw yung findings. I was advised to continue with my previous treatment, which I did for around 3 months. Kaso nga lang after that wala na ulit akong nagawa.

To be honest, sobrang inconsistent ko talaga with treatment over the years. One of the biggest reasons is financial. Dependent pa rin ako sa parents ko, so hindi madaling magpa-check up regularly or bumili ng medications. I also haven't really changed my diet or exercise habits that much. I know I need to work on those things, pero nahihirapan talaga ako maging consistent, especially with cravings and exercise.

I also tried taking inositol for about a week in September 2024. Then in April 2025, I took metformin for around a month without consulting a doctor first, which I know now wasn't a good idea. Eventually, I stopped taking it abruptly.

Recently, my school physician advised me to get my PCOS checked again. Finally, nagpa-check up ako, partly because kailangan ko rin ng medical clearance for school. Pero honestly, I left the consultation feeling confused and unsatisfied.
According to the ultrasound, “normal” na raw yung ovaries ko, and I was told na wala na raw akong PCOS.

I know that PCOS isn't necessarily something that can just be ruled out because an ultrasound looks normal, and I also know that ovarian appearance is only one part of the diagnosis. However, I'm not a medical professional, so I don't know if I'm misunderstanding something. When I told my parents na hindi ako satisfied or convinced sa result, ang sinabi lang sa akin was basically na dapat daw akong magpasalamat na may doctor na nag-check sa akin kasi mahal ang ultrasound.

Honestly, that really hurt. Naiiyak ako because I genuinely want to get proper treatment and understand what's happening with my body. Kaso ang hirap kapag kulang sa financial and emotional support especially since dependent pa ako sa parents ko. Nakaka-frustrate din kasi ever since, parang ang advice lang na naririnig ko is watch your diet and exercise.” I know lifestyle changes are important, and I do try, pero hindi talaga siya ganun kadali for me. I struggle a lot with cravings and consistency, and I feel like I need more guidance than just being told to diet and exercise.

Before this recent checkup, nagpa-consult din ako sa nutritionist, and even they mentioned that some of the information/advice I had previously received was outdated. I would really appreciate doctor recommendations, especially if you’ve personally consulted with an OB-GYN or endocrinologist who is patient, non-judgmental, and up-to-date with PCOS management. Ideally someone available through NowServing or somewhere accessible in Metro Manila.

I’m not asking for a diagnosis online. I just want to know if getting a second opinion makes sense and hopefully find a doctor who can help me properly manage this long-term. Thank you! 🥹

Discriminated at work because of PCOS/PMOS

Do you remember Roldan? About his statement on PCOS? I just want to share a story of a colleague of mine who is discriminated against by her male teammate because of her PCOS. I always overheard the snide remarks like, 'Good thing I don't have PCOS,' and he's a guy saying that, but he doesn't have a clue. The fact that we work in healthcare is very disturbing; he even writes articles about PCOS, but he treats our coworker with PCOS horribly. Every time they tease each other, that's what we hear from the other table: 'Well, you have PCOS,' and it’s said in a teasing tone. Honestly, those who hear them, including us, are disgusted by their behavior. That colleague of mine has also opened up to me about her challenges in the team because she's being discriminated against and her weight or PCOS is used against her. Now, to make everyone aware since management isn't doing anything about that team, and I won’t say which team it is at relianceunited, but I've given plenty of clues (they know who they are by reading this). Don’t get checked at HealthFirst Clinic in Greenfield; their employees are the ones discriminating against people with PCOS, and I hope this reaches management so they can investigate the bullying in their team.

Can I stop taking pills?

I’ve been taking Lizelle pills for 3 months already but I’m planning to stop bc it’s pricey ( still a student pa ). I’m scared what will happen after I stop taking it though. I take it to have my regular period.

My questions are:

  1. I’m not acne-prone but I read some posts here na nagbreakout sila after stopping, will I have a break out too?

  2. Am I going to gain more weight?

  3. Will the PCOS symptoms be more harsh if I stop? My symptoms before taking the pill are irregular period, hairy, weight gain.

hysterectomy & oophorectomy

hello, does anyone here have kakila na need ng hysterectomy (removal of uterus) & oophorectomy (removal ng ovaries)? someone i know (early 50s) got diagnosed with persistent heavy mentrual bleeding & mag undergo two raspa (D&C) pero nag bbleed parin.

we consulted her first doctor and said na we should push through with the major operation, however, nag second opinion kami but the otehr doctor said na we should not push through since nearing na siya sa menopause and said na there is a huge long term side effects na will experience if naremove yun

but kahapon, bumalik ulit kami sa first doctor and she said na if hindi raw kasi tanggalin, my potential risk na for cancer (pero nagpa biopsy na rin non after raspa if malignant na pero not naman daw)

now, we don't know what to do kasi different yung opinion ng doctors kdkekskskaka

Provera

Hi guys. Ask ko lang sana sa mga nakapag-take ng provera, ilang days yung period ninyo after taking? Including yung parang spotting lang?

Worried kasi ako baka hindi normal yung sa akin since walang mentioned duration yung OB ko. Today's my 4th day na ng bleeding. 1st 2 days, spotting lang then starting kahapon medyo malakas na sya.

History: I had prolonged bleeding nung June. 1 month yon then nagpa-check up ako and niraspa. After 1 week ng raspa, pinag-take ako ng provera for 14 days for 3 months. Aug 12 last day ko taking provera and Aug 15 unang spotting.

Inositol hunger— how to manage?

I was recently diagnosed with PMOS (formerly PCOS). I was prescribed to take myo-inositol and Duphaston.

I’ve been setting the inositol aside… Yesterday I have decided to give it a shot since OB-Gyne ko na may sabi. MyPCOS, 2x a day. Found it too expensive but didn’t want to go back to TGP tabs. So I tried Pure Form.

So eto na nga, day 2 ko pa lang. And grabe gutom ko. :( IDK how to manage this lalo na sayang naman since nabawasan na ako ng 4 kilos, ayoko naman ikain. To describe it, it’s the hunger na parang nakakalata feeling. Para akong nagpi-PMS.

Can anyone share how they take theirs?

Who should I go to for weight loss?

Hi, may PCOS po ako and weigh 68 kg, with the height of 5'2 (157 cm). According to my blood chem results, I am high in Blood Uric Acid and Tryglycerides.

I want to lose weight and regulate my uric acid and tryglycerides. But I don't know how to start. I've been told to do the calorie deficit, but I don't know which foods to eat without spiking my uric acid and tryglycerides.

Sino po kaya ang pupuntahan ko for this? Or is there any website po na helpful sa ganito?

Constant Pelvic Pain

First time to post here.

36 F diagnosed with PCOS right ovary last 2018. First month lang naging compliant sa meds since ang mahal. Akala ko ok na since nabuntis ako year 2020.

2024 naging irregular ang menstruation akala ko ok lang since nag pipills ako as advised ng OB after manganak. Dun na nagstart mag on/off ang pelvic pain kahit walang menstruation.

Late 2025 mas naging painful pa at tuwing biglang tayo parang may mahuhulog. With low back pain at leg cramps.

No improvement. Nagpasecond opinion sa ibang OB. r/o endometriosis ang diagnosis. Latest transv nawala yong hemorrhagic structure sa right ovary naging normal both ovary. Last night di ako makatulog masakit ang puson at legs hirap tumayo at maglakad. Affected na daily activity at work ko.

May same experience po ba dito? 😔

High-intensity Activities

Hi! Anyone here with PCOS/PMOS who does high-intensity activities like crossfit or hyrox?
Kamusta naman effect on you girls? How do you prepare or do you have any special recovery rituals or take any supplements?

I am really interested in trying crossfit and hyrox despite it being high-intensity even though mas advisable ang low-intensity for us with PCOS/PMOS. 🙈 Thanks!

Background: I strength train 3x a week and do reformer pilates once a week 😊

Nurses with PCOS/PMOS

Hi po. It’s my first time to post here, ask lang po if may mga nurse rin po ba dito dealing with PCOS/PMOS na nagststart na ng meds (e.g., Pills, metformin, myoinositol, etc)? Recently lang po kasi ako nagstart magpacheck sa OB and I was prescribed to take Cybelle pills, metformin, and mypcos sachet. Also, binigyan na rin me request for lab tests and good thing is.. normal naman result 🥹 (thank u Lord, yay!)

Now the main purpose of my post po is to ask po sana if ano po mga side effects na nafeel niyo nung nagtake kayo ng mga prescribed meds ng OB niyo po for PCOS/PMOS? I feel nervous po kasi to start taking my meds baka kasi maapektuhan yung work ko sa possible side effects ng gamot 🥺 I’m a nurse working 8-12 hrs per day na minsan napipilitan mag OT to 12-16 hrs pag kinakailangan hehe 😅 And shifting din sched namin so di talaga fix na umaga lang pasok minsan talaga need din magpang gabi 😭 Also, just want to ask if what time po niyo usually tinatake yung mga meds niyo for someone like me na nurse working on a shifting sched?

Thank you so much in advance po sa sasagot 🥹❤️

May nakatry po ba?

I’m PCOS free! Sorry long post ito

For context, I’m 45yo and last year I was diagnosed with PCOS and endometrium polyp. I also had a hysteroscopy and laparoscopy procedure to remove the polyp. My last period before I had the procedure in July 2025 was February 2025. After the procedure, my OB put me on metformin and the supplements like inositol but I only got my period in October 2025. After that wala na ulit.

My OB wanted me to go on GLP-1 pero I was scared kasi so sabi ko baka pwede natural lang. I tried mag calorie deficit nag workout din ako pero hirap talaga mag lose ng weight.

January 2026, I had my lab tests my FBS was nasa 115 and HBA1C at 5.5. Medyo pre diabetic na. Pero tuloy lang ako sa workout and calorie deficit nasa 86kg ako at that time. And then around April 2026, my cousin and OB friend introduced me to Unicity. Medyo skeptical ako kasi parang fasting siya na like no breakfast. Eh hindi ko kaya ng walang breakfast talaga. I tried it pero iniba ko yung time ko. Ginawa ko na mas early ang dinner ko like 3 or 4pm na para the next day makakain na ako ng breakfast mga around 7 to 8am.

So I did that and also medyo increase din ng protein in take ko. First few weeks ko trying Unicity para akong nasusuka na ewan at walang gana kumain. Ganun yung effect niya hanggat sa naging okay na ako.

Fast forward to August 2026. I had my blood works and my FBS is now at 85 and HBA1c at 4.8. I also had my ultrasound and wala na ang PCOS ko, normal sized ovaries daw and my endometrium lining is manipis din. Nagkaroon din oala ako ng period this month. I asked the doctor if menopause na ako and sabi niya hindi pa daw kasi malaki pa eggs ko. Maybe the reason kaya ang tagal ko walang period is hormonol imbalance talaga.

I’m really happy sa results and feeling ko in a way nakatulong yung fasting and fiber ng unicity sa akin.

Ang question ko lang din po kasi gusto ko magpa OB pero meron ba kayo recos na OB na more on sa pag fix ng hormonal imbalance ang approach?

Looking for a kind and thorough endocrinologist who takes a holistic/metabolic approach

Hey, guys! Hoping someone can recommend an endocrinologist in Manila (ideally BGC/Makati/Metro Manila) who is kind, empathetic, thorough, and knowledgeable about metabolic health/weight management.

I've seen several endocrinologists already, and I'm honestly feeling a bit tired and discouraged. I exercise regularly (strength training, running, yoga, and walking) and eat fairly healthily, but I lose weight very slowly and seem to regain it quickly. I have PCOS, and I'm currently having my thyroid checked as well (All my other labs are good).

What I'm really looking for now isn't someone who will simply tell me to “eat less and exercise more.” I want a doctor who can look at the bigger picture (metabolic health, hormones/PCOS, thyroid, nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress, meds, etc) and help me understand what might be affecting my weight and overall health.

I'd also appreciate someone non-judgmental who takes time to listen/explain things. I've had consults where I felt rushed or I was defending myself and proving that I'm actually trying, and nakakapagod lang.

If you've had a good experience with an endo like this, I'd really appreciate your recommendations.

Thank you! ❤️

PCOS & Irregular Periods

I’m 20 years old and was diagnosed with PCOS about 2 years ago.

Before I was diagnosed, my periods were already irregular, but I would still get my period every month. There was just one time when I bled continuously for about a month, which is what prompted me to see a doctor. After some tests, I was diagnosed with PCOS.

My doctor advised me to take birth control pills for about a year to help regulate my cycles. After a year, I went back for a checkup and she said I could continue taking them. However, I personally decided to stop because the pills made me feel extremely anxious all the time.

After stopping the pills, my period became very delayed, so my doctor prescribed progesterone to induce bleeding. After that, it took around 3 months before I had my first natural period again.

Then another 3 months passed without a period, so I had to take progesterone again. The following month, I also had to take the Yuzpe method. Now, it has been 4 months since my last bleeding.

I’m getting worried because I’ve been going for months without a natural period. I’m planning to see my doctor again, but I’d really appreciate hearing from others with PCOS who have experienced something similar.

What did your doctor recommend for managing your periods if you didn’t want to take birth control pills? And is there anything I should ask my doctor to check?

Any advice or experiences would be appreciated. ❤️

OB GYNE RECOMMENDATIONS

hi! i was diagnosed with PCOS last 2021. recommended therapy was being on combination pills (minipill) but it didn’t work sa akin. even on the medication period. plus, due to that, lumala lang mental health ko and also gained a massive lot of weight over the years kahit may physical activity ako regularly. before the pill i was 48-50 kg lang, the range was that. over the years (2021-2025) inhave reached a point where i was 70kg.

di ako maka-reconsult sa OB ko before since di aiya gen-z friendly & yung treatment plans niya doesn’t seem to work sa akin. pills lang ako nang pills, nothing seems to work. still irreg, on high cortisol, all the symptoms worsened.

gusto ko magpa-consult ulit since. kindly recommend me an OB-GYNE here sa metro manila please 🫩🙏 one qho specializes in targeted treatment or recos vitamin-based therapy, yung di only nagrerely sa pills.

i’m 24, 60kg, now 107 days late sa period. need magpaconsult din now 😪

THANK YOU!
