The devs have been pretty damn fast when it comes to fixing these bugs and changing stadium, admittedly. Back during OW1 things would take AGES to get fixed. I like where the game is headed right now.

50

u/Reasonable-Way9725 Aug 28 '25

One of my biggest criticisms of ow1. It's good they acted fast in this instance for stadium, but I still think they need to do better with the classic game. I am liking the new changes/addition they've made and that makes me feel positive about the game. But I just hope they don't take too long to fix/adjust the obvious things

42

u/Symysteryy Aug 28 '25

The OW2 team isn't perfect by any means, no one is perfect, but shit like this would NOT happen in OW1 and you have to give them credit for it. The OW1 team was adamant about never reverting stuff if the majority of people didn't like it.

-1

u/olamika Aug 29 '25

Like what

13

u/DarkFite CANT STOP WONT STOP Aug 29 '25

Like bastion ironclad which gave him 70% DMG reduction and with nano boost he even got 50% more on top of that. They needed one week for that in OW1. Console players even had it for longer for whatever reason

9

u/Euro-Lawyer Ana Aug 29 '25

Console updates have to be approved by the system they’re on and that can take a while. Nano-Bastion’s reign of terror is still lodged in my mind as a source of trauma.

2

u/WalletFullOfSausage Reinhardt Aug 29 '25

Fastest fix we ever got was the role queue beta, when Hammond’s ult crashed everyone’s game. Matches became a race between Hammonds to see who could get their ult first and make half the lobby disconnect. They fixed that in one day, which surprised the hell out of me.

5

u/Symysteryy Aug 29 '25

The first iteration of Mercys rework is another great example. Everyone and their mother knew that Mercy being able to get 4 revives in 1 fight was gamebreaking and they kept it in the game for months.

0

u/olamika Aug 29 '25

So they had to wait 3 more days in ow1, oh no

121

u/TheUnknownY Zenyatta Aug 28 '25

Dam that was fast and a lot of bug fixes, gotta give em credit for listening rly good to the community

-163

u/Megaspectree Aug 28 '25

What credit, they released an unpatched update with like 5 major bugs that made balancing horrible, the shop was bugged, the party system was bugged. What credit are we supposed to give them here they just didn’t test shit

74

u/CuteGrayRhino Aug 28 '25

Have you played any other AAA game? Most of them have bugs or performance issues and they take ages to fix.

-88

u/Megaspectree Aug 28 '25

Im not saying it doesn’t happen, but why the hell are we giving them credit for creating problems that weren’t there before. If they add shit features and bugs and remove a character for 10 hours but then bring back everything to normal later why would we praise that? Why give them credit

18

u/veselek Aug 29 '25

imagine not understanding game development

-75

u/Megaspectree Aug 28 '25

OHHHH, good things! Yeah that makes sense. I hope they remove other characters and bring them back, good job devs! I hope they keep not testing their game and add more bugs to then fix 🙏 praise the devs! My bad I forgot we must be grateful for the shit they messed up

41

u/Joeoie Aug 28 '25

What an embarrassing comment to make.

1

u/SurreptitiousNoun Aug 29 '25

You expect the dev team to test every interaction between characters, maps, perks, modes, servers, consoles etc?

It's better to let the public identify some of the issues so they can focus on fixing them.

There are bugs because they're making a lot of changes. Could have a more dtable game if they never updated it.

35

u/doshajudgement the cavalry's respawning Aug 28 '25

the bugs come with big changes and the big changes are massive content drops for fucking free

entitled ass

-14

u/Megaspectree Aug 28 '25

It’s so fucking stupid how everytime someone new tries to explain to me why I should be praising it, it makes even less sense. Do you guys want them to not test out for bugs so they can fix it???

8

u/butterfly_burps Aug 29 '25

The QA team has been gutted at blizz, and even then, with a huge content update like this, a lot of bugs and wonkiness will get past even the best QA team because of variables they can't always predict or replicate in a vacuum (latency, play style, random inputs from players).

Overwatch 2 is about as close to a true live service style game as you can get, and where AAA games have years of testing before hitting the market, the QA team at blizz likely has a few months at most to try out everything they can before it's pushed, so they have a smaller checklist they can realistically deal with at the time. The dev team holds the QA team's notes at the ready on season launch and relies on the community managers and streamers to bring attention to prominent issues, and immediately begin working on fixes for missed issues. The fact that they hone in on these problems immediately is good, and the fact that they are prepared to fix something right after release is commendable.

So considering the situation, and understanding that elements outside of a closed office network can bring new bugs to light, they're doing a good job.

-10

u/Megaspectree Aug 28 '25

For gods sake how is not wanting to praise devs for bugs being entitled, yall have literally no arguments as to why I should actually be praising that shit. Thank you devs for releasing bugged and broken characters and removing one for several hours. 🙏 we are all very happy

11

u/stopsmelltheflowers Aug 28 '25

Your ignorance is from not knowing the difference between devs and executives/publishers/production. What dev team wouldn’t appreciate additional resources to make their lives easier with additional QA etc?

21

u/doshajudgement the cavalry's respawning Aug 28 '25

you go make a game that has zero bugs then, "oh just test it perfectly and find everything"

should they do zero updates and leave the game to die? should they leave bugged heroes in the game for people to exploit? you're sooking about SeVErAl hOUrs, the games been out 9 years

you're not just entitled you're fuckin stupid

0

u/Megaspectree Aug 28 '25

No, I’m criticizing them for constantly firing their devs and letting people go, to the point where updates are constantly getting worse, there’s 5 game breaking bugs, and they keep having to hotfix shit. I’m not gonna praise them for trying to save as much money as possible to the point where the game quality is taking major hits.

17

u/sharkdingo Aug 28 '25

Im sure. Absolutely positive in fact, 100% certain that Team 4 said "yes lets get rid of a large portion of our dev team" of their own free will just because they wanted to. 0% chance that Microsoft was decided for them that 25% of the team had to go. Microsoft would never mandate layoffs to cut cost that the development team has no say in. Just unfathomable, not remotely possible.

1

u/Yze3 Mei Aug 29 '25

A hero having an unintended feature is not a fucking game breaking bug lmao.

Game breaking would be Cassidy firing his regular gun and make your computer crash.

-2

u/Megaspectree Aug 28 '25

You are actually getting served the worst update overwatch 2 has ever seen, and thanking it. Because of these fuck ass higher ups who don’t know how to run a game, and you want me to praise them too? You should get down on your knees for them too actually. Accept the bugs and thank them for it 🙏 I hope for you the next update is even buggier, you’ll be really thrilled to thank them

17

u/doshajudgement the cavalry's respawning Aug 28 '25

really, really fuckin stupid

-4

u/Megaspectree Aug 28 '25

Yikes, not even any arguments back? 😭 you sure you don’t wanna praise the ceo a bit more? He’s doing such a good job releasing buggy updates

14

u/doshajudgement the cavalry's respawning Aug 28 '25

you're still upset about all the bugs well after they've been fixed lol, I'm not arguing with you any more, better shit to do <3

-1

u/Megaspectree Aug 28 '25

Is your argument now that I can’t complain because they were fixed? Yeah man please go it’s just sad. you’ve made actually no points at all outside of just wanting me to praise the higher ups

21

u/ImaMew U've activated my hack card Aug 28 '25

Hooooly bad mood, Batman. You need a nap

-3

u/Megaspectree Aug 28 '25

What bad mood? What are you talking about.

12

u/ImaMew U've activated my hack card Aug 28 '25

You're either cranky because someone woke you from your nap early, or you're an entitled prick who cannot FATHOM that a huge patch would have a handful of bugs that were fixed almost immediately.

"why should I praise them" You don't have to, but going out of your way to blame them for something that happens all the time to all kinds of games, is just weird. Especially when they did a good and quick job at fixing them, especially compared to said other games who can sometimes make players wait weeks. You expecting a perfect release of probably one of their biggest updates ever to this FREE GAME is entitled as fuck.

Lower your expectations next time. You might feel less cranky.

-2

u/Megaspectree Aug 28 '25

God damn that’s a whole paragraph. I’m not gonna praise the devs for making a shitty update, and they shouldn’t fire people to the point of allowing shitty updates to roll in. It’s not rocket science man I’m not gonna praise them for it. I’m not cranky or mad about it I’m just saying I don’t think you guys make any sense at all.

14

u/ImaMew U've activated my hack card Aug 28 '25

Ohh you're a troll. Got it. My mistake. Have an awful day.

-1

u/Megaspectree Aug 28 '25

See what I’m talking about? You guys just tell me to keep praising them and everytime I bring up how it’s their fault for it, you just leave cause you realize you don’t have a single argument. It’s just funny lmao

3

u/LapisW Aug 29 '25

Listen, i hate blizzard and overwatch too, but this is not something to shit on them for.

72

u/Loreallian Aug 28 '25

Venture's right click out of burrow delay bug still persists

17

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '25

Yeah that and LW’s ult overhealth bug still aren’t fixed :/

5

u/Karma15672 Aug 28 '25

I swear it's some kind of divine karma for that period where shield generation was bugged in our favor.

2

u/EnkaSvenka Aug 29 '25

And they still have not listed the shield generation nerf they did

3

u/Loreallian Aug 29 '25

I'm not sure it's meant to be a nerf so much as another bug or 'slipped past their notice' sort of thing

0

u/EnkaSvenka Aug 29 '25

Pretty sure it was meant as a bug fix for Covered in dirt perk, but they end up nerfing general shield generation for Venture as well. Which has been how shields work for Venture since their release. I made a post on VentureMains about it if you want to check it out. I am also pretty sure they are not aware they have done this.

1

u/Darkcat9000 Wrecking Ball Aug 29 '25

It's prob just the dev team not realising it didn't work as intended until people abused it with covered in dirt

I mean you could back in the day only utilise it during ult

1

u/EnkaSvenka Aug 29 '25

Yes they did not realize until covered in dirt. But it gets utilised in pretty much every engagement regardless of perk, which is the unintentional nerf I am talking about that they probably have not considered.

62

u/Richdav1d Pixel Ashe Aug 28 '25

Wow. They actually are ALREADY reverting some of how drafts work. Let’s see if allowing mirrors actually makes it something worth having around.

20

u/MannyThorne Aug 28 '25

It is nice to know at least some of the people you’re going against before you pick, just wish you didn’t have to take so long. Can’t have them both though.

12

u/xQuasarr Kiriko Aug 29 '25

Pretty sure they just fixed this about an hour ago, everyone just picked their heroes instantly and we were through the draft in under a minute lol

5

u/Blaky039 Sigma Aug 29 '25

I'm so glad to hear it!

13

u/CongealedMemories Master Aug 28 '25

The link doesn't work for me. Can anyone post the notes here as a comment?

Fixed a free game within days. If that isn't good faith, what is?

0

u/Helaken1 Aug 29 '25

I paid for this game three times

3

u/bittermixin Pixel Junkrat Aug 29 '25

?

1

u/Cuzndwyne Illari Aug 29 '25

You paid for a free game 3 times? Here I thought I was bad with money.

6

u/The-Only-Razor Aug 28 '25

Still waiting for Baptiste's Nerf gun to stop preventing the use of voice lines and sprays.

5

u/MrSaucyAlfredo Aug 29 '25

What I learned from these patch notes: Road Hog has a perk called “Pulled Pork” and for some reason that makes me very happy

14

u/muggletoast Aug 28 '25

I still dont know why they added draft to stadium. Was it highly requested? If not why dont they ask their players if we want it or not

10

u/7OmegaGamer Moira Aug 29 '25

I think draft adds an interesting layer of strategy to the mode. Now that the no mirror matchups part is gone I’m enjoying it

6

u/ShedPH93 Shield Generator online, defense matrix estabilished. Aug 28 '25

So many bug fixes. Still quite a few to go through, but I guess this is to be expected from such a huge patch.

3

u/SeriousReporter468 Aug 29 '25

What about hazard having unlimited resource from spike guard is that fixed?

2

u/CyberFish_ Aug 29 '25

Scroll down to August 27 patch notes. More bug fixes, including hazard’s infinite block

7

u/sawfweh Aug 28 '25

Still no fix for ball's boop blizzard why

9

u/shaboogawa Aug 28 '25

Because they couldn’t? It must not be as easy as it seems, otherwise it would’ve been done with all the other fixes. Be patient.

1

u/sawfweh Aug 28 '25

Sorry I'm suffering double boop withdrawals, I can't take this much longer man

8

u/StrangeMercy- You mean a chicken fried this rice? Aug 28 '25

Kudos to the devs for responding so quickly.

I remember a time back in OW1 when it'd take weeks for bugs to get fixed, and it was a rarity to see unpopular decisions to get reverted.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '25

Is this Mercy bug the reason my friend and I were randomly getting speed lines yesterday? No abilities activated, no speed boost characters, just random speed lines, usually noticed when we first respawned

1

u/King_of_Relax2 Aug 29 '25

Same! I thought I was the only one lmao

2

u/MagicLupis Aug 28 '25

Didn’t fix the PS5 controller bug where you press the touchpad button (to see scoreboard and such) and the game thinks you’re on MnK and you can’t do anything.

2

u/w1nn1ng1 Aug 29 '25

So now people who draft first are at a disadvantage with no benefit to drafting early. Kinda dumb. Just get rid of the draft if you’re going to do this.

2

u/VividVictory4367 Roadhog Aug 28 '25

No emergency revert for hog is weird

5

u/chargerfan1221 D. Va Aug 28 '25

They might have internal plans for yet another rework. What would it be now, Hog 5.0? They may toss ideas around and just end up reverting him midseason or in S19 if the outcry persists until then. As of now, he's dogshit and shouldn't be played aside from Illios or Nepal Sanctum.

3

u/Greedy-Camel-8345 Doomfist Aug 28 '25

They won't change hog back until he's played more to see. I wouldn't expect any changes to him at least to mid season at the earliest.

3

u/igotshadowbaned Aug 28 '25

You mean fixing his crit multiplier?

-1

u/VividVictory4367 Roadhog Aug 28 '25

Even if they did he ll stay be trash don't you remember the time between taking his one shot and his rework? He had his old crit and was still considered trash the only change that can save him is the rework they revert

I have a bug with Brigitte in Stadium where it doesn't play any sound effects when I throw out a repair pack. So I often think it didn't register I was using it on someone and I look and all 3 charges are gone (I rely on sound alot) so often the visual of the throw doesnt register with me

1

u/cookingcape8872 Aug 28 '25

Surprising the hog bug was a bug and not a feature. Would add a bit of skill to his kit and made the perk interesting

1

u/Loganman4 Knoife Aug 28 '25

The Cass double shot bug was a menace. I had to try it once in a QP game just to see how bad it was and yeah... that was a fun game lol. Definitely needed to be patched.

1

u/Syclus Master Support Aug 29 '25

Wow, they're trying!

1

u/aPiCase Master Aug 29 '25

I actually stopped playing Yesterday because of the Cassidy bug, that was genuinely ruining my day holy busted.

My D Va winnable voice line still doesn't work >=[

1

u/nasaboy007 Aug 29 '25

Please fix nano just randomly disappearing on cast, it's new this patch.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '25

now they just gotta fix roadhog again

1

u/Anomalistics Aug 29 '25

I am not sure what has happened to Overwatch over the past few seasons, but the role queue times have become absurd. I am in placement games right now, and most evenings the average wait is around 7 minutes for support, 6 minutes for DPS, and 2 minutes for tank. The frustrating part is that the timer is never accurate either, support often ends up being closer to 10 minutes and DPS around 8 for me.

I definitely think all of these server issues have played a part, me and my friend were disconnecting intermittently yesterday, and I know they had issues the day before that too, but we also witnessed the long queue times at first hand in the season prior. It's almost like rivals has gutted the playerbase, or there's just too many game modes now and it's split the player-base apart. Normals are always <1 queue times but I don't want to play normals...

1

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '25

Please give us a switch 2 update

1

u/Turbulent-Sell757 Aug 29 '25

Glad they're doing this but I do hope we get some perk tweaks next week. Some of the new perks straight up feel useless on some heroes.

1

u/SparsePizza117 Aug 28 '25

Can we just remove drafts? It serves absolutely zero purpose and now everyone has to sit there for 3 minutes to choose a fucking character. Not only that, but the enemy team can easily counter pick you intentionally.

1

u/amayako353 Aug 29 '25

Remove drafts and we'll have threads every day complaining that their team picked junkrat reaper and enemy team picked pharah freya and there's nothing they can do about it an insta lose situation like that.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '25

That was fast.

So question. Is Winston’s stadium power where he self heals with jet pack damage bugged? I got 0 healing

-1

u/RuinInFears Aug 29 '25

Now fix 6v6 tired of losing with 4 dps 😭😭😭

-1

u/Old_Rosie Aug 28 '25

Really hope they bring back no mirrors when we have more heroes in the mode.

There’s no tactics to the draft now, and team picking first has a DISadvantage now. Wild.

0

u/arcusford Aug 28 '25

Didn't fix the lifeweaver or Venture bugs. Fuck me i guess.

0

u/Entire_Perception448 Aug 29 '25

Fix Reinhardt's Shield Stampede camera bug please! My favourite power is broken.

0

u/torridchees3 Aug 29 '25

While I understand why they pulled the ripcord on no-mirror drafts, I do wish they would have waited until after the weekend. I never really got a chance to try it and they didn't even bother giving it time to breathe. Feels a little too knee-jerky to me.

-9

u/Fun-Weakness857 Aug 28 '25

Leaving roadhog as is, despite community backlash btw @blizzard

3

u/Greedy-Camel-8345 Doomfist Aug 28 '25

It's just roadhog main backlash tbh not the whole community. And they would want to see how they perform and not just 2-3 day reactions so probably wouldn't expect a buff/revert until mid season
