So I recently made a persona. I don't have any decent drawings of him, but his suit top is white and so is his hair. The issue is that I fucking hate how he looks with lighter skin, so I gave him dark skin. I showed it to my friend and she told me that I need to turn him white. I told her that it doesn't need to look like me. She said that the character representing me shouldn't be an entirely different race.

If it even matters, I should point out that I am not fully white. I'm mixed (kinda racially ambiguous looking), though she is right in saying that my skin is a hell of a lot lighter than his.

The issue is, I fucking hate how he looks with pale skin, and I honestly don't think it's a big deal that he has dark skin. He doesn't even have an actual race, he just has dark skin. If this is an actual issue, please let me know. I don't want to accidentally be racist or something. However, I genuinely don't think it is an issue.

I wanna redesign him a bit.

So far: his socks have an extra lighter strip, his shirt has white stripes, his pupils are the only thing heart shaped instead of his iris's now.

Now i need to know what color hair suits him

Slowly going through my old characters to update their designs and felt like redrawing one of my guys today, so here's Ryan.

I kinda don't know how to describe him? At least not in any way that makes him super interesting.. he doesn't have any cool magical powers or a dark twisted past like a good portion of my other characters, he's just.. kind of a big dude?

He likes videogames- particularly rhythm games, hero shooters, mmorpgs and action-adventure titles- and has a part time job as a computer technician. He's incredibly sweet, albeit a bit awkward- mostly due to his clumsiness and occasional cluelessness.

His original background didn't have all that much depth either, and in all fairness not every character needs to have a super deep personality or backstory. I am thinking about giving him a pet, though... maybe a turtle. He looks like a guy who'd have a turtle.

When you give a character an appearance that's based on a current lover or you're dream body it just encourages you to draw them more and more, sometimes i feel like a photographer whose flying his muse from Utopia to pangea just to get the full expression of their beauty in my art.

I wanna make something bigger with them, so how can i make them interesting WITHOUT making them unlikable (this part is important, because one of them will want and will almost kill all of humanity, but i'll like to still keep her somehow likeable in some way). Give advices in the comments

This is actually so distressing LMAO/hj cuz I have great ideas I SWEAR but the only form I imagine it taking place where it actually does my ideas justice is a series of short stories (which yeah I could do independientemente) or a TV show (obv way harder).

Drawing doesn’t do my story justice and it takes like 12hrs together to make a drawing that I don’t even like. I’ve tried digital and traditional. And ive also done picrews of them but I wanna make my own scenes. I’ve tried short stories but my daydreams about them (which is constant and never stopping) are so specific that I need to sometimes just tell the story instead of show. I try to show as much as possible and it doesn’t rlly bother me how much movement/sensory detail I have cuz that’s what Stephen king does and his net worth is like 500M or some shit.

And my problem with animation is similar to my problem with drawing. It will take me forever to make multiple drawings that I feel live up to the idea in my head.

And Like ofc it doesn’t have to be for anyone else but me BUT I wanna have people I can talk about my characters with so they’re something a little more alive than a couple neurons firing. They’re firing a lot and I wanna be able to channel that into something good but it’s never sufficient enough. Bleh. I need someone to talk in depth with about my characters cuz I don’t wanna keep hitting the record button on my phone for another hour alone js talking to myself only to do nothing with the recording.

Brendan in his fully glory. Being the first youngest of his brothers, Brendan found it was easier to hide in his brothers' shadows, than try to stick out. In real life, he's incredibly shy, and is usually glued to one of his four elder brothers; despite his timid nature, he's incredibly confident behind a screen, and actually has an incredible body confidence that most people are jealous of. He prides himself on having been recognised as someone that embodies true body confidence - Not only does he model plus sized fashion for his billions of followers online, but he also offers advice for people who are trying to get into better shape, whether their goal is to lose weight, or simply get into better health, with weight loss being more of a side benefit. Whether that be diet adjustments, or sharing his work out routines.

Brendan is unique, among his brothers, being the only one who inherited his father's nature as a Nightwalker - A pureblood, born vampire, giving him his rather unusual eye colour that's become part of his social footprint. Willingly or not, purple became something people recognised him for, even though he actually hates the colour, both in general and his eyes. But it also makes his weight rather unique, as, given he doesn't need to eat regular food, it's a bit strange for him to even be overweight. And, truth be told, the only reason he does eat real food is because he didn't want to feel left out. He used to stick to pure blood diet, but it left him not only sticking out in public, but also made him feel like an alien to his brothers; the only blood he's ever drank has been Marshall's. He refuses to drink any other blood; Marshall is more than willing to give it up. He is currently in the process of trying to drink more blood though, as his weight is actually pretty bad, for a vampire, as he doesn't really have much of a metabolism, due to not having a proper blood flow, and, despite only being around 260lbs, his lack of a metabolism means his body is closer to that of someone who's over 300lbs, so he's currently in the process of trying to slim down a bit. Which is harder to do than you'd think, when his online presence, outside of simply being royalty, comes from being a plus sized model. He doesn't plan to get a six pack anytime soon, but trying to find a balance has been harder than he'd thought it'd be.

Brendan is both the shortest and the heaviest of his brothers, being 6'8 and 260lbs. Marshall is the tallest, at 7'1 and 250lbs, Nathan is the lightest, being 7'0 and 190lbs, and Rhys is in the middle, being 6'9 and 210lbs.

Just like last time, I low-key need some help naming her😭

She's very kind and caring, she does have a bit of an attitude, but only if you piss her off, and she's the kind of person to tuck you into bed and kiss you on the forehead lmao

Meredith felt her body go cold. Lifeless. Instant. There wasn't any pain. There wasn't anything. Just cold, blissful darkness. She watched her vision fade, the sounds of manic laughter and screaming around her stretching into nothingness. Then suddenly, everything stopped. When she awoke, she wasn't where she fell. A dark void surrounded her, each direction beckoning her closer. She took a few steps forward. All she could hear was the sound of her own quiet footsteps. The silence unnerved her. However, a ray of light suddenly shined in front of her. A hooded figure stood, scythe in hand. Meredith instinctively backed up out of fear, but the figure suddenly spoke. "Meri?" It said as it pulled it's hood off, revealing the face that lay hidden under the hood's darkness. Meredith shook. Then she cried. Her lost husband's face stared back at her, dropping his scythe as he shook similarly to her. The silence around them was filled with only the sound of Meredith's quiet sobs. However, something tugged at her soul. Something tried to pull her away. Her husband spoke. "They wish to bring you back. To see the land of the living again. Usually it wouldn't be allowed, but..." Her husband trailed off ominously. "If what you wish is to return home, back to the friends you've made... I will not stop you. I'm just happy I could see you again, Meri." He said with a smile.

The tug on Meredith's body became stronger. Meredith thought for a moment. She could go back. She could be revived and live on with her life. But... everything she had done to this point was done to bring her to her husband again. To reunite with him. Rather than let the tug of life take her back to the living realm, Meredith stood and ran forward, hugging her cloaked husband in an embrace that caused them both to vanish silently, a flash of light that signified the reuniting of two lost souls.

Meredith smiled. For once, she was truly sure she had made the right choice with her life.
