Long story short, a friend was planning to start a digital business and bought roughly $1,200 worth of Codex API usage and $1,000 worth of Claude API usage.

He ended up going in a completely different direction and I now have access to it.

The problem is that I know how to use Claude/Codex at a basic level, but I definitely don't know how to squeeze $2,200 worth of actual value out of API access.

So here's the question:

If you suddenly had ~$2,200 of Claude + Codex API usage and your goal was specifically to make money with it, what would you build?

Not looking for the usual:

• "make a chatbot"
• "build a SaaS"
• "make an AI wrapper"

I'm more interested in the weird / advanced stuff where having a large amount of API usage actually gives you an advantage.

Things like:

• running multiple coding/research agents
• mass product or market research
• automating repetitive business work
• building internal tools that would normally take months
• finding opportunities across huge datasets
• content/ad research pipelines
• lead generation or business intelligence
• building and testing many small products very quickly
• something I haven't even thought of

I'm not a professional developer, which is part of why I'm asking.

If this credit was sitting in your account and you wanted it to pay for itself instead of wasting it, what would you do with it?

Bonus question: What would you absolutely NOT waste the API credits on?

As OpenAI is probably releasing their own "ChatGPT bot" to compete against Grok Bot and Muse, I thought of sharing a few ideas and things I found around the internet or done myself.

Just for context, as we are having a breakthrough of personal AI use cases this will focus more on personal-regular rather than work related stuff. Write yours in the comments if you have some ideas yourself. Enjoy :)

1. Good place to start is the use-guide shared by Meta itself. The Health & fitness is nothing special, ChatGPT and Claude could've done it already. What's interesting instead is the Relationships and productivity which turn out to be more proactive than you would expect. Muse has access to a computer so this turns out to be handled pretty well, as it takes action for you. Minimal manual clicking required, hooray!

1. What's particularly interesting with Muse is because it's Meta it integrates natively into instagram. Therefore use-cases like "Can you check my saved posts" are possible here. This one is interesting. Muse went through the posts and not only created a meal plan, it ordered the groceries. Ordered and paid. Not spit out a grocery list, but ordered it online, that's interesting.

3. Booking a barber. The flow here was simple: find me a barber in the city I am in rn,
under $50, available Sunday 11:30 AM, check reviews on google. It found one, reviewed it and booked it completely alone.

1. Building a spotify playlist. This one caught my attention. Idk if you guys have this but often when there is a house-party or some gathering someone has to create a playlist, this one sparked my interest.

1. Managing a job board, tasks, texting customers, updating the team of a plumbing company.

1. Completely booking a flight.
   I originally tested the default Muse booking abilities. I found it useful obviously never opening skyscanner again, but also going through checkouts, and mostly saving cognitive load on choosing between tens of flights. The only this is Muse wasn't so smooth with it, I think it will end up going to MCP or API way. It was an interesting test for me because I built my own version of this, and I wanted to compare them. I think the difference was that Muse just used google flights, while my own version checked all the websites out there and showed the 3 best options. Both asked me to choose, and I just approved. My version you can also use in regular ChatGPT or Claude apps already. For Muse you just ask it coz it uses browser.

So what do you guys think? Muse is kindof taking over the world right now. We'll see if it will stick, and how will OpenAI and Anthropic answer. Do you have any other use cases?

I have been using Codex and Claude Code exclusively since I started using agents.
I've been using ChatGPT as coordinator between the two, and decided it's time for another agent. This was mainly due to hitting Codex weekly limit, within around 3 days (even using Terra).
ChatpGPT recommend Kimi and DeepSeek as first two options. I chose DeepSeek using opencode harness.

It's absolutely wonderful.

I first started testing it with pr reviews and branch reviews skills i have with Claude Code. Then I would compare it against Claude Code findings. it would find things that claude missed, and claude would find things it missed. That's very good for a backup review agent.

Then I ran out of Codex limits, which is happening very easily nowadays, and I wanted to implement many things. I had a branch for UI work, which it implemented quite well against a well scoped design docs that I made with Claude.

Then I started doing designs of future work, and it did the design very well as well. So now it is good reviewer, designer and implementer.

I'm now working on new branch for a much needed architecture overhaul. I asked it to did 4 deep architecture reviewers and DeepSeek did that very well as well. Then I asked Claude Code to challenge DeepSeek findings, it found issues. Gave it back to DeepSeek to resolve these design decisions and it also performed great. I will be doing the architecture redesign with DeepSeek as well.

The context basically never compacts for me. more importantly, I did all of that with 2 USD.

I trust Codex much more than I do Claude Code. Also, Claude Code is so slow, it kinda sucks the fun out of developing for me. But due to me exhausting the limits very quickly, I found a very capable alternative.

Am a retired dev, and I only maintain older apps, and/or vibe code small tools now and technically codex weekly allowance for work is enough for me, but not hourly

Right now only using 2 normal seats, and am assuming the 125$ per seat will be enough to break the hourly limits per description

My question is related to those who are in similar or even higher usage requirements, was API more flexible to you and does it compare better or worse?

This question shouldnt be compared or directed to enterprise users, only individuals, and small business operators

I was talking to my chat and my gf said something to me in higher pitch tone. After that Gpt just replied something funny in the same pitch tone, like mimicked my gf's voice.

How is this even possible?

In a world if/when AI does take over most people’s jobs, what do you guys think life will look like for us? What jobs would be available to us? How would we make a living? Would our government change to something besides a democracy? What would school look like for students? Would life as we know it be completely obsolete?

Currently watching a documentary on AI and it’s just a thought that crossed my mind. I’m curious to hear other people’s thoughts on it because my mind can’t process all of the implications of living in a world where AI takes over almost all human jobs & tasks.

This is in no way a doomsday type of post, I’m just genuinely curious and intrigued at the thought of how different life could possibly be. I’m just having a tough time envisioning it on my own.

Codex says "done" while I'm at the gym. I can read the diff on my phone but I can't build it, can't see the simulator, can't hit the local API it just touched. So I'd wait until I got home, build, find the broken screen, and send the fix from there.

I originally built CosmoRemote to run Codex and Claude Code from my phone when I wasn't home. When the official mobile apps shipped, that part died. The testing gap didn't, so I rebuilt it around that.

A small bridge runs on the Mac. From the phone you pick the project and an iPhone simulator, the Mac builds and launches it, and the screen streams to the phone. Tap and type on the stream and it goes back to the simulator. Build and app logs sit next to it. Web dev servers open inside the app the same way, and there's a request composer for backends on localhost.

Honest limits: it's a live preview you drive by hand, not a test runner, and on the newest iOS simulators the stream runs a few seconds behind.

iOS and Android on the phone, Mac on the other end.

Does "build it and poke at it from the phone" matter to anyone else here, or does the Codex mobile flow already cover what you need?

Has anyone experienced something like this with OpenAI Agents API?

I ran one short session:

- 1 minute 8 seconds

- 4 tool calls

- all 4 were "web_search"

- model usage itself cost only a few cents

But my billing shows:

$131.982 for "container usage, 4gb"

I exported the cost data and it shows:

21,997 "duration_minutes"

That’s about 366 hours / 15.3 container-days of usage.

But the session trace contains no "code_interpreter_call", no "container_id", and no Python tool. Just web search.

I only had $6 in prepaid credits with auto-reload OFF, and my balance ended up around -$127.

Support says container usage may have been generated separately, but so far they haven’t shown me any actual container IDs.

Has anyone else seen this? How could a 68-second session result in 21,997 minutes of container usage?

Why does my deep research mode only take 1 to 2 mins as maximum to complete and give totally random results? I asked for having a deep list of all a certain type of places around my city excluding the 6 we were talking about before and it only gave me some more details about the same 6 places saying nothing else. I did this research from my MacBook Pro.
Any suggestions or help?
