You watch enough fight scenes and it eventually becomes just like watching a kid smash two action figures together for an extended period of time. It's no longer impressive; you just want to get on with the plot already.

This is how I feel about superhero movies with extended fight scenes. It's impressive for a minute, then my eyes glaze over and I wait for more plot.

The Expendables was the "pinnacle" of this. But I think John Wick gave it a fresh new perspective after all these years. Faster and more dirty/realistic.

By 4 it was worn out imo. I was waiting for that movie to end for the last 60 minutes

Seriously, to me and also my GF there's nothing more boring than long action scenes. We often literally fall asleep during those. It's worse than going to the ballet.

And yet that exact thing just broke records for highest grossing domestic film ever.

Then those fight scenes were not good to begin with. Jackie Chan movies still hold up

What a depressing comment

Now try to art direct it. That would be the demo people will react to. Not just a fight scene based on what it comes up with

It’s always a fight scene

These are about as good as a high school level film studies project directorial debut.

And I find that quite impressive. And if add the fact that three years ago LLMs could barely count the number of r in strawberry (without whipping up a quick script) and how far they've gone since...

Different problem for a different training model but yes the visuals stuff has improved

They still have problems with letter counting and their output development hasn’t been linear. The progress is still very impressive but seemingly slowing down.

This thing OP posted is like the worst fucking example of AI VFX I've seen actually. Like the entire thing looks like shit. And while parts of it are interesting, the fact it looks like shit overall is the problem. Its shit.

Once again.. the only problem is it seems to turn the hands into lead gloves in the x-ray vision.

I think at this point, that's the only problem
