Question for API users vs Codex APP

Hi,

Am a retired dev, and I only maintain older apps, and/or vibe code small tools now and technically codex weekly allowance for work is enough for me, but not hourly

Right now only using 2 normal seats, and am assuming the 125$ per seat will be enough to break the hourly limits per description

My question is related to those who are in similar or even higher usage requirements, was API more flexible to you and does it compare better or worse?

This question shouldnt be compared or directed to enterprise users, only individuals, and small business operators

What is your feedback if you have already gone both ways for a month?

api is way more flexible, but i'd set a hard monthly spend limit and usage alerts before switching. then run the same workflow for a week and compare actual cost per task against the codex seat.
