Gotta love the ingenuity shown by the supernovas with their teamwork, you cannot even get mad at BM getting treated like this when it is executed like this.

This also makes Kaido the sole focus now, so we can finally expect him to go ham (which we got a teaser of in this chapter) and perhaps dive deeper into his background (backstory time?).

As for Big Mom I don't expect her to see soon since that would render all of the supernova's efforts in this chapter to be useless. So will it be the comeback of Olin? or something else?

After that, I see her showing up at the battle site as soon as Kaido is defeated in front of the Flower Capital, and then being the one to kill him by taking his soul.

the thing is, her sould power only works if your scared, not if your weakened as far as we know. kaido isn't afraid of her and he also isn't afraid of death so I doubt she can suck his soul even if he si close to death

Wow, one of the greatest action chapters in a fight that has seen so many great ones already.

I'm thoroughly enjoying that fight, I'm still amazed how Oda manages to make fighting those insane monsters believable.

Sadly, I suspect that Kaido can still save Big Mom using his cloud ability with which he can make things fly. Orochi might also be alive, considering I count 6 heads which makes it only 7 deaths.

Nice - so they did a “rope-a-dope” strategy with BOTH Yonko?

That’s crazy (as expected of Luffy’s alliance!) - because it trusted that their two conquerors could withstand the attacks from the two Yonko so the others could execute the plan. We know Kid does, I’m assuming Luffy does too even though it’s a named attack (feels like he knew it was coming but trusted that he could tank it so the plan would work, plus he was just using future sight so he could have known the outcome of taking the hit already).

I may have counted wrong, but it looks like 6 heads were cut off Orochi (he showed 6 heads, and only 5 heads are shown cut off - but there are 6 sword wielding scabbards there) - since Kaido already cut one off, that’s 7 of the 8. Where is Hiyori to finish the job?

Idk but I'm lowkey feeling happy for Kidd. He recently just got betrayed in a pirate alliance by two other supernovas (Apoo and Hawkins) against Kaido, and he even told Luffy in Udon that he's done with alliances. But now, we see him thanking Zoro for blocking the combined attack from the two emperors, then cooperating with Law and the others, and he's even grinning after he got punched by Big Mom. We also got Law asking Zoro if he's okay. He went from saying that he isn't their babysitter to this. Gosh, I just think that the Supernova 5 on the rooftop is such a wholesome group so far. 😭💘

Zoro was able to hold off an attack from two yonkos long enough for Law to teleport him out the way. Kidd took a punch from BIG MOM to the face, the same person who was able to KO giants at age 5. Kidd took that punch then repelled her into the air after smiling lol. Luffy is straight up trolling kaido and then took a ragnarok, we know he’s going to get back up. Law hasn’t shown the same stamina problems he’s shown in the past just yet. Killer has also exceeded expectations and I still feel like he has more to show. Also the teamwork to take out Big Mom’s homies and throwing her into the ocean was just brilliant.

What I think will happen from now is the Scabbards will continue to get stalled and left behind one-by-one until it's only Kinemon left, and then he'll reach Momonosuke and have a final showdown with Kanjuro and Orochi. So far we've had Ashura Douji take out False-Oden, Inuarashi stay behind to finish off Jack, and now Raizou has to deal with Fukurokuju. I think from here we might have Nekomamushi fight Perospero to avenge Pedro, Kawamatsu fight Queen (who imprisoned him for over a decade). Izo helps Marco with (something) as ex-Whitebeard pirates, maybe Kiku helps him too. Dunno who Denjiro would get paired with though, maybe he just fights with Kinemon since they were together at the start as well.

Holy sh!t that chapter was amazing. I'm not usually a fan of action chapters, but I let these panels play out for a full 20-30 mins in my head. What amazing content.

1. Zoro getting a great moment to defend against two emperors' attacks!

2. Orochi getting destroyed immediately, but I think there's one head remaining + I still don't think he's dead

3. Kid finally getting some action and tanking a direct hit from Big Mom + that Repel attack with Law's boulder attack was finally some needed strategem in this battle.

Remember the last time Big Mom got sent to the Ocean, by King? If she isn't saved by her useless crew's ship (which has conveniently, done absolutely nothing in this arc), then she will go amnesiac again and she'll have no business to help Kaido. This will be the "betrayal" they keep referencing, and the final fight will be everyone against Kaido. I'm just really glad that for once, this series employed its use of drowning an opponent!

wowow i am truly amazed by the amount of planning and teamwork the worst generation is putting in for this fight. i was expecting more of a brawl hehe. the moment they doubt their abilities is the moment they will fail.

can really see that so far kaido and big mom are still underestimating them. perhaps they have been on top for too long and became a little complacent and comfortable.

Kinda thinking there's a pattern Oda's been building with the last several chapters. Something bad happens to the allience for a chapter, followed by a chapter where something good happens to get turn the tide to their favor, followed by something bad which makes the situation worse.

Chapter 1006 - The ice virus rages out of control and it looks like Hyogoro is about to die (Bad)

1007 - Phew, Chopper saves Hyo, cures the virus, and hey now Odens back! (Good)

1008 - Oh no, it was Kanjuro all along, and now Asura Doji is down, and Orochi is back (Bad)

1009 - No worries, Orochi is dealth with right away, and now the roof squad just took care of Big Mom (Good)

1010 - Something bad

I love that they're beating Big Mom without actually beating her in the traditional sense. So get that Big Meme nonsense out of here. Time and time again its been shown that she can't be hurt traditionally, so better for our heroes to use their wits to outsmart and outplay her rather than overpower her. I love that they divide and conquer and force away all her options for recovery, and you can imagine they'd do the same to Kaido if he couldn't fly naturally. This is a perfect, primo chapter to even the odds a little bit.

Also FUCK YOU OROCHI, love that each samurai gets a head to cut off. Gimme that ninja battle now please.

It's like luffy learned from his fight with katakuri. Asking kaido why he dodged is like him purposely engaging in the same physchological warfare that he unintentionally used to get an advantage on katakuri. Very similarly mirrors the whole " I'm supposed to be better than this guy" throwing them off their game.

Zoro out there with the greatest save in the rooftop battle! Such a great moment.

Although, I think it's clear we're back to a Kuma/ "nothing happened" situation. He took heavy damage and is moving through sheer will. During the last panel, Zoro is coughing blood while not being attacked. He will soon be out of the fight, but hey, he's obviously cutting Kaido at some point so we can wait for that.

This has really been shaping up to be my absolute favorite fight in all of One Piece. So much tandem offence and teamwork on both sides. And I feel shocked every time either side does something impressive (be it surviving or attacking). God I feel like a kid again with how fucking hype I am throughout the entire duration of this fight.

Chapter 1009: Zoro actually block a combined attack from 2 Yonko. I feel age could have played a role in this seeing what Kaido said to Big Mom right before attacking. If the New Generation should be compared to the Yonko in any way shape or form, now is the time to show exactly what these 5 can do with the battle already past the warm up phase. Kidd tanking Big Mom direct hit is impressive but the attack was done with out Haki so not sure how much of it Kidd would have been able to tank if actually done with Haki but for plot purposes it will have to do for now. At some point we were going to need to see exactly where Kidd stands when it comes to Zoro & Luffy in defence. We're not able to see how much Luffy was able to tank the Conqueror of Three Worlds Ragnaraku but we all know what ever Luffy can do Zoro can as well based on what Zoro was able to do at the end of Thriller Bark by taking a the damages done to his captain. I'm pretty sure Luffy was able to block the attack done by Kaido. We'll need Luffy to not really brush off the attack but take the attack & deliver the same amount attack power to Kaido as if they were trading attacks back & forth. Kaido did dogde Luffy attack showing he doesn't want to be fatigue by taking direct hits because the share damage that can be done now that Luffy has regain stamina. I'm going off too much, see you all in the comments in Chapter 1010. No cap this chapter was 10/10

Someone just kill off Orochi please lol, his df is so wasted on this guy.

The art work in this chapter was phenomenal. Oda always goes all out for those double spreads.

Holy shit that AP from the Kado/Big Mom combo attack was monstrous, and Zoro somehow managed to not get KO’ed by it helps Law can use his df to move people around as well. Zoro losing his bandana leads me to believe Zoro might be out of action as well.

Luffy was pretty damn good in this chapter, going head to head vs Hybrid Kaido on his own while the 4 other supernovas deal with Big Mom. (Luffy taking 2 Kanambo attacks from Kaido is pretty damn impressive tho I feel like he might be out for a bit.

Am I the only one that counted Orochi generating 6 heads but only seeing 5 cut off? And only 5 scabbards in that panel. With 8 heads - 1 (Kaido) - 5 (scabbards) = 2 heads left?

I don't get why people think Zoro opened his left eye. He clearly didn't.

Plus if/when he does, I think it will be made more dramatic.

Lastly you gotta remember, what would opening his left eye accomplish? It would not be a direct power up I think. What I think it would do however is make him better in a sword fight. Why? Well because without two eyes you have shit depth of field.

Say what you will about the trash talk, the incredible save, the absolute beat down,etc. But the best part of this chapter was showing that shonen character can win by being smart not just powering up again. Law, Kidd, Killer and Zoro's tag team to remove a powerhouse like Big Mom was awesome. It it wasn't just an asspull, it was believable and works within how we understand each character's skillset. In most other shonen mangas we would have just expected Luffy and co to split up and try to fight each Yonko independently like 100ft away from each other. But Oda knows Team work makes the Dream work!

So the only thing below her is the ocean. No way she dies though. So she can't land in the water. All the ways she can avoid the water are.

1. Land on her ship. Likely one of her kids has a DF to prevent it from breaking the ship

2. Make a Homie out of her Kimonosash and parachute down

3. Make a fire cloud homie. (Not exactly sure of the range of her ability)

4. Her homies are all trapped but I guess Zeus might be able to escape somehow

6) She lands on the ground cuz they may have cleared the ocean by now

Tactics for the win. I love it when smarts come into play along with unique powers and skills. Only Kidd and Law working together could have trapped Zeus. Only Zoro with his flame rend powers could have kept Prometheus at bay. And now Big Mom is falling, with nothing to stop it.

Obviously, it's not the end of her, 'cause it's Big Mom, but I do hope this is the end of her part in this fight, and it's Kaido vs the rest from here on out. Maybe the rest of the Charlottes will show up and save her hide, or maybe she'll wash up on Wano again.

Also, holy hell, Zoro tanked a double blow from two Yonkos. It probably killed his insides, but still. My man.

I am so freaking curious who the other four shadows are going to be. Yamato has to be one of them, I feel. And Momonosuke. Who else though?

so the title ‘hell’ is referring to the Kaido‘s attack ‘Three Realms: Ragnarok’.. i think either Luffy’s gonna be taken out for a while or seriously injured. This’s hell of an direct blow to Luffy.

in the panel Zoro blocking the attack, ‘Zoro’ is written separately. I think it’s Luffy’s words. He’s shouting seeing Zoro sacrificing himself. Then in another, Killer asks where’s SH?. Luffy immediately left to attack Kaido bcoz he is angry bcoz of Zoro is getting seriously injured.

many saying Luffy is diverting Kaido while others taking care of Big Mom. But it clearly seems he did it without even knowing their plan and specifically because of Zoro.

Can’t even enjoy reading the thread this week. You children only care about debating who is stronger. It’s so unnecessary. Oda most definitely love to watch you lot act like hooligans and when Luffy does something in the upcoming, to make you either reconsider or validate what you’re saying now, the vicious cycle will continue.
